I too am very pleased and proud that Duolingo reported a 2229% increase in Ukrainian learners since February 2022, as I am one of those. Duolingo's curriculum presentation has gone downhill a bit since I started in April 2022, and never did contextualize its Ukrainian curriculum at the best of times, but through sheer cussedness I worked my way through all of the units at each level till they stopped labeling the proficiencies and went to a simple game path structure. Still, it worked very well for me learning to read Cyrillic, and I only dropped it recently when I decided that maintaining my 677-day streak was not motivation enough to spend my daily practice sessions translating the same five sentences over and over (and over). If I'm going to advance, I know my next step is to find Ukrainian speaking partners in my location, but until I work up the nerve to do that, it is very good to practice with this channel. Thanks for all you do, Inna!

The new format on Duolingo is awful. I completed the Ukrainian course on Duolingo before my subscription ran out, and then moved on to Qlango. Even starting from the beginning there, I learnt a lot in the early stages. The emphasis is slightly different, a lot more typing Ukrainian. But you can adjust settings if something doesn't work well for you. For instance, I reduce emphasis on flash cards in early stages of a lesson, as I find they don't work well for me for new vocabulary. Qlango does recommend what to do next, but topics are clearly labelled and you can choose a different lesson if desired.

    Любов з Ірландії! 🇮🇪 ♥️

Two weeks ago, I encountered a Ukrainian man named Alex. He his from Mariupol. I used my rudimentary Ukrainian to speak to him and he used his not so good Ukrainian to comunicate with me in return. The results were not so easy. We managed to agree that we did not understood each other very well... I need more lessons in Ukrainian language. I juste don't have money to put on it... well! TH-cam is there and Ukrainian songs are all around! Slowly but surely I will improve myself.
Keep on going! You are a light that shines for all lovers of Ukraine and its beautiful and rich language!

Nice...SMILE!! 🙂 I want you to know that you are a very good Ambassador for Ukraine and these details are very helpful to people! I am in the USA and bought your T-Shirt in 2022 or 2023...I just LOVE Ukraine and know you will have Victory to the 1991 border-I believe even this year. I have been a poor student of Biblical Greek but I watch verse translations each day and this is a form of Bible study for me and I learn a little. I am not where I would take on the work of learning Ukrainian but I love to support you because I think you are important! Keep up your videos...you are making a difference! As I have learned more and more about Ukraine's history and culture I just love it more and more (LOVE the Volyn Folk Choir!!). A friend visited Ukraine last December (in Kharkiv region!) through a Check Republic church he used to be missionary at-they delivered food and love in Eastern Ukraine (you could hear outgoing Ukrainian artillery in the background). He invited me for next time-I told him my life insurance is VOID in a war zone and my wife has an illness so we cannot afford that situation. But I hope after the victory to come with him to help and love Ukrainians!

    I pray for Ukrainian victory.
As a Swedish, we have some lot of common history, from old trade routes from the Nordic Bronze age to Vikings, Väringar, Princess Anna's mother Ingegerd , and battle at Poltava, Great Nordic War.

I used to sing in a choir here in Germany a couple of years ago, we also had three Ukranian songs in our repertoire, all of them where expeptional heartwarming in their melodies, and I felt this in the years let's say 2015 to 2020, when Ukraine was not a topic in the West.

As an Australian Ukrainian Duolingo user, I'm very proud of that statistic! I just stopped using Duolingo because it's become too gamified and the pronunciation isn't the best. It was useful for learning Cyrillic though. I've just bought Beginner's Ukrainian by Yuri Shevchuk which seems really good and I want to take lessons when life gives me some free time! My goal is to be able to speak and read Ukrainian when I visit free, beautiful Ukraine in the hopefully near future. Дякую Інна for fighting the good fight! Слава Україні! 💪💙💛

I have been learning Ukrainian on Duolingo since June 2023, and I have around 22,000 XP and I have learned a lot of new words and sentences. I have started learning Ukrainian for my online best friend, and she started learning English for me :) We have both gotten so far and I am proud. Thank you Inna for helping me out on my journey!🇺🇦❤️🇺🇸
I just finished the rest of the video, and I am shocked that they have FORBIDDEN for children to learn about their home country’s history and language… that is extremely sad.☹️ Добрий вечір, and thank you Inna, I hope you have a great day, please don’t stop posting about this beautiful culture and the language. And do not let people get in your head, Goodbye.❤️

Both my parents didn’t know their own languages. They speak the language of the colonizers. It’s very important to reclaim our heritage languages, whether our parents ever do or not.

It is sad for every language which dies out. It is important to reclaim one's parents language or languages.

My grandmother spoke pure Ukrainian but it had many Polish words in it . I think the reality of Ukraine is a country torn between two empires
