So excited to find your channel, and specifically THIS! For 2 years I've been wanting to learn Ukrainian, but was too embarrassed to tell anyone that I was old-fashioned student: *I need to conjugate verbs.* And regular present tense is the perfect place to start. It's the way I learn, makes my brain happy. 😊
Inna your videos are so helpful! You have a wonderful teaching style. Verb conjugation has been confusing for me ,but your explanation makes the topic clear & understandable. Thank you, thank you ,thank you !
I have wanted to learn Ukrainian for years and never thought that I would be able to do it, I started on Duolingo last year and this video really explains things Дякую.
I'm learning a lot from it being written down and explained. I have spoken basic Ukrainian my whole life with family and this conjugation is natural to me.
Hi, I'm French and I try to learn ukrainian langage since a few months, and your videos are very helpful, thanks ! I have a question : which group does the verb "могти" belong to, please ?
Your videos are always clear. It would be helpful for me to learn 6 or 8 regular verbs with the same pattern of conjugations before examining irregular verbs. In other words I need to get quite familiar with basic patterns before taking on exceptions.
I was in Thailand a year ago and I was talking to a Thai national who had a problem pronouncing the English letter “v” also. Great video though. Thanks!
Hi Inna! I'm still having a lot of trouble with verb conjugations. There seem to be a lot of exceptions to the rule. Do you have any more tips? Or are flashcards the way to go?

It's so interesting comparing the sounds English speakers find difficult (like И) with what Ukrainian speakers find difficult (like "W")! I feel like learning another language is a very powerful tool for empathising and relating to the people who speak it
Dear Inna to help you with those 2 words you find difficult vowel as in (ve) cher evening, v owl as in bird. then verb again ve and rrb dopobachini scoro
the say the word VOWEL you can say it this way : VawL with out pronouncing the second W almost like saying VAUL wish I could send you video of pronunciation , this explanation was simple great thank you kindly .
It is a habit from her being a native Ukrainian. The letter В is often pronounced as either a voiced labiodental approximant or voiced bilabial approximant before vowels, but also it can be pronounced as a true /w/ before /ɔ/ or /u/ - which is why she pronounces the v like a w in that word. Also, /v/ is a voiced consonant, and /ow/ makes the diphthong /aʊ/

You are mispronounced 2 words. The word "verb" is pronounced with a v, or the letter B in Ukrainian. It is not pronounced with the letter "w" as in were, or word, or work. It is a "v."
You are also mispronouncing the word "vowel." The "v" is pronounced with a v sound, like the sound B in Ukrainian. "Vowel" does not begin with the sound "w" in English. It starts with "v." On the other hand, the "w" is not a "v." The "w" s a true English "w," it sounds like wa-in want, we, or win. Not a v, but a w. Don't give up. You are almost there. Other than that, you are an excellent teacher, very kind and patient. I learned alot from your presentation. DyakuIO! Irene
This lesson needs to be redone. It takes 5 min to get get to the first example of the simplest conjugation and even that is skimped over. There is no attempt to get the correct pronunciation by showing perfect examples. The problem is a shortage of Ukrainian educational materials compared to Russian. I gave up trying to learn Ukrainian first due to the chronic lack of materials compared to Russian. The verb endings in Ukrainian are very similar to Russian or other Slavic languages. Times have changed, previously you did not need Ukrainian when Russian provided most needs, now its very different.
There’s no need to be rude. She’s kind enough to provide this content for free. If you don’t like it, go to another channel. No one wants to hear about the genocidal war criminals who’ve invaded the sovereign country of Ukraine. 🇺🇦
I have been trying to learn ukrainian for a long time and this just answered 75% of my confusion in one video. Thank you!
What is your own language?

Yes, that would be the better example.

Hi, I'm French and I try to learn ukrainian langage since a few months, and your videos are very helpful, thanks ! I have a question : which group does the verb "могти" belong to, please ?
it's irregular verb, so you need to change stem before conjugating to "мож-"
я можу
ти можеш
він може
ми можемо
ви можете
вони можуть

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I am now subscribed to your channel :)

Hi Inna! I'm still having a lot of trouble with verb conjugations. There seem to be a lot of exceptions to the rule. Do you have any more tips? Or are flashcards the way to go?
Yes, there are a lot of exceptions. You need to practice this topic by conjugating and using different verbs. Flashcards can be very helpful.
Thank you!
Thanks mam
If you are worndering what Inna means by storm. She means stem. The stem of the word.
That's amazing thank you so much
How do you know when to use the 1st or 2nd group to conjugate it? It is quite confusing.

These conjugations are logical, and there are only two of them! Much easier than Latin.

It has more than one meaning. Mother (мати)is a noun. There is also the verb мати which means “to have”.

Eu tenho uma pergunta qual é o nível de entendimento que um Russo consegue entender uma pessoa ucraniana??
em português?
You pronounced wrongly : stom instead of stem, the correct pronunciation is " stem " as it is
vowels is pronounced veaol or веаоул
Vowel= v(dental/labial fricative unvoiced) + a (short a) + l. Spoken rapidly as " vowl "
This is fantastic but please it's VERB not WERB and STEM not STOM.
