Master the audio levels in your videos. That billboard at the top nearly blew me across the room. I turned up my system to hear him.

Is this the John Curl that worked with Saul Marantz?? Can he talk about that experience?

Hi Paul, it is indeed the John Curl that worked with Saul Marantz :)
O: Is reliability a major design goal for you?
JC: Absolutely. When I worked with Saul Marantz at Lineage 10 or more years ago, we built an all-FET power amplifier. I had read all the spec sheets and really thought that I had everything covered, but invariably, when we shorted the thing out, it would blow up. It gave me an appreciation for protection circuitry. Today, I believe in the protection circuitry that is noninvasive. It will sense when you’ve shorted something out, and know that something’s wrong, and protect the amplifier.

You go back and listen to those dead recordings live and each instrument sounds pristine, separate from everything else as if they were playing right in front of you... groundbreaking for the time, Even live performances now don’t have that pure sound they used to get

We couldn't agree more. The dead recordings are epic!

@@GoQAV I've compared numerous Wall of Sound SBD's to non Wall of Sound & I don't believe one can hear a difference (at least not much). Am I imagining this? Even the Dead themselves have stated that a recording does little or no justice to the WoS; it has to be experienced live.

This makes me think that Owsley Stanley gets more credit for the "Wall of Sound" than he deserves.

To me the vocals sounded nasally around that time.

yeah, he is genius for people who does not understand class A amplifiers, which he's trying to explain and keep "secretive" somehow...
Move on, nothing interesting if you don not understand, I mean does not have a clue... of electronics.
