The Three Bells of Farmington, Glos

The second of two Gloucestershire three-bell towers I have lined up, filmed 24th May 2014 (with some additional photos taken on 8th August, ahead of a wedding - hence the decorated church).
The best word to describe these bells is "rustic"! The front two were cast by the Neale family at Burford; the tenor is a medieval bell from Robert Hendley at Bristol. They hang in a cast iron frame from 1902, and retain their canons.
The bells themselves do not sound very good, and the tuning is roughly 2,4,6 of 12. They feel like they are not rung very often, and, on our visit, the 2nd tail end disintegrated entirely!

Great video yet again!! These definitely do sound like they haven't been rung much at all and they don't look easy to ring either!!

Yes indeed - for these "old" videos, I write in the description when I visited (24th May 2014 in this case!). Luckily - I have found tonnes of old footage I never got round to editing; there's at least 15 videos in the pipeline at the moment, which will keep the channel going for a little while yet :-)

The whole set is a diminished 1 3 5 chord. And to be honest, I don't really mind diminished sets :)

Did you try setting any of them at backstroke? They should have dogleg stays but have been replaced with straight, so almost impossible to set, plus very deep at hand

I don't think we did! 6 years since visiting - can't remember too much about them actually! Always an excuse to go back tho!
