    Thanks for this, you did an excellent job explaining how to change the actual side mirror glass. All these other videos kept telling me how to change the WHOLE side mirror only ;)

    Very helpful video. Just helped me replace my mirror on my 2010 Fit. Crazy Jersey-shorish Snookie like lady punched out my mirror to show off to (and scare) her children. Changing the mirror is much harder than you make it look, but the video and narration had all the information needed to get it done right. Took me about 10-15 minutes as its my first mirror change. Thanks! All done now.

    I have a 2011 Honda Accord and a broken drivers side mirror. My configuration is exactly the same as the video and I removed the old mirror as you showed, and it came away quite easily. However I am having difficulty in replacing the exact same mirror I purchased from EBay. The old broken mirror and the new mirror look exactly the same. I think the problem I am having is that here in England in January, the temperature is cold at about 1 degree C and the plastic is too rigid for the components to easily click into place. I think I’ll try applying some heat to both the mirror and the housing and see if that works. Anyway, thank you for the instructions; they were just what I required.

    I just used your video as a bit of guidance (the camera didn't really focus well and the outside lightning made the inside of the mirror super dark, which made it difficult to really see clearly. But it was just enough to get me a idea and figure it out myself from there. ~Thanks!

    This was helpful but I have a 2015 Fit and it's a little different. The mirror can still be detached by popping it off the white thing with a screwdriver and the new one can be snapped back on the white thing with some palm pressure. One important detail: the replacement mirror from Honda comes with the white thing on the back of the new mirror. Do not attempt to replace the white thing - pry it off the new mirror with a screwdriver, then snap the new mirror onto the old white thing that should still be in the mirror housing.

    Note: In the UK it's known as the Honda Jazz and some have the round fitting and not the 4 clips so check your existing fitting before buying a replacement!

    How do you determine if the mirror needs to be replaced or the whole unit? Is there a way to test the motor if you have automatic side mirrors?

    Hi do you have any knowledge about DIY the heated mirrors, I got my Honda CR-V 2017 LX model and it didn’t come with the heated mirrors, I been thinking to get from the dealership the EX-L model mirrors heated and do the wires electrical aside the factory wires.

    It's kinda hard to remove whole mirror glass without using a knife or scredriver. First you lift the bottom until it reaches final fixing position then you should could all isolation tape between glass and assembly and then you should slowly pull it down with slowly shaking to sides. Good luck and just do it slowly

    The mirror was stolen from my Fit. They also took the white plastic part that the mirror mounts to. Do you know if the replacement mirror from Honda comes with that white plastic part?

    • @DIYCarModz
      @DIYCarModz  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Joseph Antczak Unfortunately if they stole the white part as well then you have to purchase the entire mirror actuator. Honda does not sell it separately. You can try eBay and see if a used one pops up or else you're looking at $60-70 for the actuator and another $30-40 for the mirror.

      +DENNISEK5 Here are the part numbers: passenger side mirror:76203-TK6-305. driver side mirror: 76253-TK6-305.
      Use google and search for those part numbers.

    I was pulling out of the garage and i hit the drivers side mirror on the side of the garage because I was looking at the other side. The mirror broke off of the motor and now it won't stay in place, it faces down. Is this an easy fix?

    • @DIYCarModz
      @DIYCarModz  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Risha Nayee Are all the tabs on the back of the mirror and the motor intact? Check out 1:48 for reference. If those black tabs on the back of the mirror are not broken and the white plastic mount on the motor is not broken then it is a simple fix. However if either the mirror or the motor white plastic is broken, let me know which one.
