It's well deserved too, because these tiny home builders and inhabiters put their hearts and souls, plus blood, sweat and tears into these homes. So inspiring. Every video I watch on this channel makes me feel one step closer to building my own!

That home is just perfect for her! She really did express herself well through the design of the house and her choice of decor. It’s great to see someone so happy with what they’ve accomplished and to actually love the lifestyle they’ve chosen. Your channel continues to inspire!
her home is so small.. yet there is so much space... and even a big kitchen.. it looks so clean and tidy... and the exterior design looked cheap to me at first glance to be honest, but after she explained the style I saw it truly in a different light... this is so creative and beautiful :)..
I think a lot of money has been spent on the interior. The kitchen has an expensive fridge freezer and the units aren't cheap either, plus the bathroom is not a low budget spec either. I think she's made a great home. Her choices would not be my choices - I wouldn't have gone for the built in couch, the expensive fridge freezer or the underfloor heating. Solar power and a water system would have been a priority for me, but the best thing about tiny houses is designing them to suit ourselves.
@@wilmaknickersfit Underfloor heating is nearly mandatory in the far north. Without it, items will literally freeze to the floor. I've had it happen in my tiny-house, and I live in Tennessee. Moisture builds in the air and condensation collects under items on the floor. The condensation freezes and sticks whatever is sitting atop it to the floor. Plus, underfloor heating can be the most efficient way to heat a home when done properly. Very little energy usage.
@@mountainman4410 Thanks I've never heard about that happening before. If it gets that cold inside wouldn't you just keep the heating/fire on low during the night? Bryce has shown us lots of videos from US and Canada and I haven't noticed underfloor heating mentioned. I actually have underfloor heating in my house, but I only use it for frost protection because if I turn up/down the thermostat it takes too long to react.
@@wilmaknickersfit In a normal house with good skirting its a bit different than with a home on a trailer or on skids. I lived off grid in my tiny home for a little over two years and no matter how hot the inside was, the floors always stayed cold. The heat in the lofts would feel as though it were an oven. When your feet hit the floor though. It was a bit of a shock. Even though we have r19 insulation in the floors, the cold would seap through anyway. We did put up a skirting last year. That made quite a bit of a difference overall. As for instant heat, the in floor heating system isn't the best for that sort of thing. It's a "radiant" heat. Whereas it takes longer to feel the difference, once it has warmed up, the heat is retained and is much easier to maintain a constant temp. When an electric or other heaters that heat the air turn off, the heat dissipates quickly, and the heater must turn back on relatively fast. The floor has a tendency to hold the heat and keep things warm longer. Thermal mass is what's really going on. This is why I have a massive rock wall surrounding my wood stove. When the wall warms up, the rocks hold that heat long after the fire inside the stove has died. This help maintain a comfortable temperature longer.
Definitely in my top three! I agree with Jess about adding an extra two feet for a wood stove. That would’ve been a wonderful touch, especially during those chilly Canadian winters.
I'm sure you could look into where she could install a wood burning stove, something like the Spiroloc Little Wood burners. It can almost go anywhere, without much alterations to her space.
Stoves can be placed outside. Easy to do. Burn once a day to heat the cabin and thermal mass to extend the burn efficiency. She could have a sauna, outside space useful except during the coldest or most violent weather. All that free wood!
It’s baking here in Scotland and as I am sitting on the shores of Loch Lomond I am imagining where my tiny house would sit in this picturesque landscape - then I remember it’s Friday and new video day! Can’t wait to go home and watch on big tv 🤘🤘🤘
this lady seems to know what she is at She is living up there alone in the woods in middle of nowhere and it works for her. Wish I had figured out such a way to live
That lady going snap out that one day she living in a fantasy when she realize it I pray no harm come to her it can happen anywhere but I just wish she want out there
I've been doing it for four years and Im coping ok but it's tough I got no drinking water or any cables my lamp works with batteries I cook on the bricks To be fair I would like a hot bathtub and a closet
So? Are women who hand wash their clothes a protected class or what? Or are you one of these comment-nazis who think only celebratory comments are appropriate?
I'm honestly hooked on these videos, they have shown me another way of life, one that I wish I could adopt if my financial situation was different (ehm...better). For the time being, I can only watch and dream. Also, Bryce is definitely one of the most respectful, considerate and enthusiastic presenters I have ever seen! He is so full of positive energy it is insane!!!
Something about her is so relatable to a part of me. I love how she does her dishes, cooking, and laundry outside. Inspiring :) People (of all human species) have been doing everything we do now OUTSIDE and only recently (as in, the past few hundred years) it's become taboo, strange, or unheard of to do things as simple as washing or cooking outside. We've been doing it for thousands of years, and you know what? It might be for the best that we try to go back to that simplicity.
When you're only doing it on the weekends, it can seem romantic and you can pretend you've living the Little House on the Prairie lifestyle. In my g-g-grandmothers' day, they would have given anything to have running water INSIDE the house, to be able to cook INSIDE a house in AC or heat, to wash and dry clothes inside the house...with temps running from 115 to 18 degrees, think of the misery of "roughing it." There's nothing wrong with being comfortable.
So one thing I don't see you mention is what these tiny homes are like in storms. I live in the plains in a 38ft RV and sometimes the storms are so bad I feel like I'm on roughs seas. Other times it's so overly loud I can't hear anything at all. And the worst storms are absolutely terrifying. I understand these are sometimes built with better standards than RVs are, but I'd like to hear this kinda stuff in future videos too. But then again I'm probably in the minority with wanting to hear about stuff like that.
Tiny houses are much heavier than RV's and so are generally much more robust in storms. I've been in some pretty big storms in my tiny house and it was just like being in a home on foundations.
@Gray754 I'm in that minority with you. We know that extreme weather events are getting stronger and more frequent, and that would definitely be a consideration for me. A few months ago there was an episode with a fire-resistant tiny home that I found very interesting. More focus on extreme weather design would definitely be my cup of tea!
I have to say this.. Rasa is doing a very good job editing the video.. it actually doesn't feel like a TH-cam channel at all. It feels like it was produced for a television show
Dear Bryce, Your Utube Channel has given so many options on what I can do. You have opened a door of opportunities for us all around the world. I am so glad you were inspired to take this leap of faith on this journey. Thank you. Valerie of Nokomis, Florida, USA.
I find you are so positive with every tiny house owner. Great interview as always. I know I could quite happily live in a tiny home but my husband couldn’t, which is such a shame.
This is such a nice show! I love the positive attitude of the guy, also it is so far away from the usual drama fueled filming style. Also he treats peoples homes with so much respect!!!
What an amazing get away. The River the home. Jess is completely at one with nature and she looks the part. Great home amazing woman helping other people in the social services network. Be Happy Jess and Stay Safe
Her set up to park her tiny home brought bears to mind. Bryce... you are the perfect showman. Mannerable, charming, tall and handsome. Always complimenting each guest!
Awesome! I left Nigeria at 18 and have only been back once, so I really cannot relate much, but it would be extraordinary if Nigerian millennials take up this minimalistic way of life. It would be fantastic for the environment and promote quality of life versus quantity and size, something lacking in the culture. Let’s hope.
@@oyamsbabe4028 absolutely oyams, but you see the situation here is pitiful, but you know how things are here, it takes thinking outside the box to create something like this here, but hopefully things are gonna change... @Living Big In A Tiny House
Jamez Ogiri I hope so. I’m encouraged especially bc of the tech outreach. Nigerians, like so many around the world, will now see the many possibilities. Stay well.

I’ve watched a lot of videos almost all the videos up on your channel but This is actually my first time to comment lol! I just wanted to say that you Bryce have given me such a huge inspiration, I saw how you got emotional when you talked about building this channel from scratch, I absolutely admire you 😊 and I’m thinking about making my graduation project about a tiny house :) thank you for being an inspiration to so many people!!!
Yay...perfect timing. Let me grab the coffee and settle down for this one. Thank you for all your hard work Bryce. The trip back to BC is so enjoyable after the last visit you did. Love the area and they seem to have all the best tiny houses. Cheers!
I love watching you inhabit all the lovely features people have incorporated into their tiny homes! Your open, enthusiastic personality works so well, and the obvious fact that you Do love each home for it's originality makes such a difference in each interview. I love how you find those special attributes in each home, and the pleasure on owner's faces when you lift their talents, interests and skills up to them, to see through your eyes!
I know this is Canada, but as a bit of info, that is nearly impossible to do legally in the US. Doesn't mean that people don't do it, though. When you are in one of the tiny clusters of homes (say, 4 to 20) 100's of miles from the nearest town, there isn't a lot of law enforcement.
@@moreofawave It is highly regulated due to environmental concerns. The cost of getting all of the required permits and approvals would be prohibitive, and even then, anyone who find out about it in time and wanted to make your life miserable could delay it for years through environmental challenges. It would be very difficult in general to get plans approved for the diversion of a sidestream of water through a turbine electricity generator, and in a stream that contains or might contain an endangered specie, it would be impossible.
I have a rather small portable hydro generator that I use with my travel trailer. There’s a place deep in the wilderness that I camp for about 6 weeks at a time near a stream. I use this small unit when there so that I don’t have to rely on a generator. Solar is not feasible because of the forest canopy preventing enough sun to filter down. Mainly what it does is keeps my Lithium batteries fully charged by day and runs the lights at night. Since it’s not permanently installed it’s very easy to remove and doesn’t block the stream at all. She could definitely use one there, just don’t ask permission lol
When I discovered your program Bryce I immediately realized that this was the life for me! I currently grow my own food and with that said it is leading me rapidly towards building my own tiny home! I currently reside in Texas(not originally from texas) but I want to move to Washington State to the woods! And I assure you, the moment I have my tiny house built you are coming for an invite! You will have a wonderful cup of tea! You are always an amazing interviewer and as the previous comments have stated, you are insightful and always respectful. Cheers brother! Love this channel!

She's spot on when she says get a woodstove. Every house should have one. You can always find free wood to burn if needed. Wish she would have went into more detail about the spot she's at. Looks like she has a neighbor.

I know i mentioned this before but i so love the theme song for this channel, i put it as my ringtone so peaceful, prefect choice, wind chimes right. I really think i need to go an get one for home. Peace out dudes stay bless.🥰
My concern is always security for this secluded home owners. Funny enough, i have never heard anyone mention anything to do with security. Here in Kenya its hard to even get a house built without metal grills on the windows. When i watch those crime shows on Netflix, i get concerned for daring people like her. Amazing house though and a beautiful life this is. Love it!
Speaking from someone who lives in a rural area in the United States at least, security is not an issue, as you are in the middle of nowhere and people don't go traveling through the wilderness to try and rob you.
I I would agree with that I have a place at the end of the forest however there is four houses going down snd a couple of people living in two of them. A lot of criminals don’t want to drive all the way out they don’t know who is at the end and what’s waiting down there for them. However dogs are good to have and so are guns!!! Better believe it!!
Yes, from so many of the comments, people do not realize that there is a big world out there and with people that are willing to do harm or to steal. I live in South Africa and that generator would be the first thing gone, then the house stripped of every last item and yes, a high likelihood of serious assault on the inhabitant. SA has the highest rape statistic in the world. So when some men and some women think that it is rubbish to act 'weak' and fearful...consider that not everyone has the good fortune to live in fairly peaceful places.
Asking about security is a valid question, only a fool would dismiss it out of hand. She would be wise to own a shotgun and be comfortable with using it if she had to. At the very least a big can of pepper spray. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Lovely young lady with a great home. Only observation I would make, a fast move river 20m away is screaming "water turbine generator" for the unfrozen months. Free electricity.
@@standunitedorfall1863 I could tell that as well. It definitely gets bad too as you can see it washed ENTIRE groups of trees down the stream at one time.
Great home, smart, strong woman. Very inspiring. It’s disappointing to see so many judgey comments about her in these comments. If you have something negative to say, how about keeping it to yourself? I think she’s awesome and I love her voice too. Rock on Jess!
For 80 grand, the designer should have rigged a water storage, which many tiny houses have. What's she gonna do in the winter, and I wonder if she has to fend off bears.
The home has some really lovely features (like the kitchen), but I have some serious concerns watching her drink water straight out of that river. She definitely needs to be using a water filter of some kind (even if it's one of the camping sort you hang). You can catch some pretty nasty things from unfiltered water, and it's important to maintain potable and non-potable water containers without cross contaminating.
Yep....fools forget about wildlife poop, infecting the water, in runoff from mountains. An entire town in the Carolina mountains, got real sick from Beaver poop running down the mountain, into the water. Nowadays, one cannot do that.
Please would you ask more technical questions like: - how they heat the home- in details - what is the material of the walls of the house - and many more technical questions regarding the building of the house
just google ;) I assume it is up to you, and the weather conditions of the area.. you need to know how much you consume and resolve the sources with ecological solutions, the less footprint, the better for Pachamama
The lowest it gets is -20C (-4f) but that's on really cold years it normally sits around -5C (23f) in the place where she is, 2018/19 winter wasn't a very cold one, so the thick blankets at 7:13 are great. She also mentions earlier she has to get up to start the generator and I think I glanced an electric heater when they were talking about the laundry
@@patriciafisher3108 Condensation, mold, things breaking in the middle of nowhere, leaks, hot lofts, obtaining insurance, back pain from short lofts or seating built more to fit instead of for comfort. This channel is bad about showing the 'great side' of stuff but you never see the problems with stuff which would very easily inflate to something huge in a small home out in the middle of nowhere such at this. These are all concerns people should bring up imo. The best layout and how to avoid pitfalls of previous owners would be nice to hear.
This was a really inspring piece. I apreciate the thoughtful questions. Jess, did a great job laying her space out. Love love love the kitchen. good job you guys!
I also love the focus in the kitchen. If it has to be this small then I would go for the kitchen. Don't need much sleep space either or secondary beds or TV space or couch. I watch a lot if my programs and series on the computer so this is cute. Full fridge and oven are great and large sink
I love the style of this house so much! And really like the going back to basics aspect with the water from the creek and washing clothes traditionally! I would love to implement those in my own dream tiny home someday 😍
There really is a lot to be said for slow living. Peoples lives can be so hectic and living in this way can certainly force you to slow down and take some time out.
Not only is her home, the land, and her lifestyle beautiful, but she has this amazingly beautiful feel about her where I felt that she's so kind and light in spirit. This is all so great and I love the layout of her home. The fact that she was able to stick with her love for a king size bed is something I resonate with a lot, because that's also important to me! Where you sleep, clean yourself, and eat are so important and I think she really nailed all of it

demandred1957 a lot cheaper than a Motorhome or new Airstream trailer. Motorhomes cost about $150k for the little 21 foot ones all the way up to $500k+ for 45 feet. Which depending on how you look at it, might be a better value than luxury cars that cost $70k and up.
Remember, it’s CAD dollars... USD is approximately 75% as much. $60k USD isn’t horrible considering it is mostly new, high end materials and likely built by a pro. Hence how she ran out of money.

I thought it was obvious she was not living in the house much. This old hippie thought it was absurd for anyone to believe she dressed like a millenial commercial to strut around the woods (which she was not comfortable doing hence her stumbling on the rocks), washed her velvet overalls in an outdoor tub, carried water, etcetera. Total crap. It's like when a ditzy coworker is lying their butt off, you know it, but they still keep on with the story...you feel stupid for listening to it. I would have respected her more if she'd just said she visited once a month to relax, and didn't pretend to be Yukon Annie.

Hey Bryce, would you ever make a video outlining the steps you did to create a video? Like did you reach out to people/how did you find people to reach out to? or did they reach out to you first? Do you write scripts for your monologues? Do you fly around all the time?...
We have thought about doing some behind the scenes videos. Sometimes people approach us, and other times we hunt the stories down online, or by reaching out to groups or contacts in the area to see what we can find. I don't pre-write my opening and closing statements. For the majority of our travel, we will fly to the country, but then drive around everywhere. We like to keep our airplane travel to a minimum.
Do you fly around all the time?... LOL! I pictured Bryce with a big pair of wings flying around Indiana and landing in my back yard! Thanks for the visual! Read more Show less

This is such a lovely home! I wonder, is that a memorial to a beloved pet? If so, what a unique way to honor an old friendship!
Attitude of gratitude-and this gal’s got it in spades-I love that!
Her home is beautiful n I love her sincere gratitude, it's amazing.
Definitely in my top three! I agree with Jess about adding an extra two feet for a wood stove. That would’ve been a wonderful touch, especially during those chilly Canadian winters.
Thanks! Glad you like this one!
I'm sure you could look into where she could install a wood burning stove, something like the Spiroloc Little Wood burners. It can almost go anywhere, without much alterations to her space.
She did say she regretted putting in the washer/dryer. take it out and put in a stove.

It's lovely to hear from you. Hope your keeping ok
I'm seeing a lot of negative comments aimed at a woman who *literally washes her clothing in a pot over a fire.* Rock on, lady.
Her tiny is fantastic. People as usual are so full of shit.
It worked years ago just fine
So? Are women who hand wash their clothes a protected class or what? Or are you one of these comment-nazis who think only celebratory comments are appropriate?
i'd marry her
Then why does she have a washing-machine @5:05?
I'm honestly hooked on these videos, they have shown me another way of life, one that I wish I could adopt if my financial situation was different (ehm...better). For the time being, I can only watch and dream. Also, Bryce is definitely one of the most respectful, considerate and enthusiastic presenters I have ever seen! He is so full of positive energy it is insane!!!
I second the comment about Bryce! I always appreciate how warm and genuine he is.
More like the past 70 to 100 years.
@@livingbig lol, coming from Wellington I'm like .... wind? storms?
Just a breeze, mate.😁 She'll be right👍🏽
thank you for bringing this up! i live in an RV and had been wondering the same.

It feels like it was produced for a television show
I agree, Rasa is brilliant with a camera...and the bonus is that she makes fake people uncomfortable which I love!
Dear Bryce,
Your Utube Channel has given so many options on what I can do.

I want this exact house tomorrow. That's the first time i've felt that way watching a tiny tour.
Aw, thank you so much!
She should sell the floor plan. Parents can be expensive yet I think there's a way around it.
The location is beautiful! The sound of the creek, birds chirping, so peaceful!

It's living the dream!
This is such a nice show! I love the positive attitude of the guy, also it is so far away from the usual drama fueled filming style. Also he treats peoples homes with so much respect!!!
Stunning home and an absolutely beautiful woman! She is living an amazing life!
She sure is! Glad you enjoyed the video tour.
@Derek Frampton PaPa-D I totally agree!

Awesome! I left Nigeria at 18 and have only been back once, so I really cannot relate much, but it would be extraordinary if Nigerian millennials take up this minimalistic way of life. It would be fantastic for the environment and promote quality of life versus quantity and size, something lacking in the culture. Let’s hope.

Yay...perfect timing. Let me grab the coffee and settle down for this one. Thank you for all your hard work Bryce. The trip back to BC is so enjoyable after the last visit you did. Love the area and they seem to have all the best tiny houses. Cheers!
Cheers Andy! For sure, it's wonderful to see how much the tiny house movement has grown here in BC since our last visit in 2017. Enjoy your coffee!!
Hi Bryce, love your speeches at the end of every episode! You find the perfect words to describe what makes every tiny house unique!
Beautiful women, beautiful personality, beautiful location, and a beautiful home. Great video.
This is one of my favorites, a place that could really feel like home- once it has power and water!
What a magical place and a lovely little house! Hope she is still living her best life in the woods.
Forget the petrol generator, if you are near that river set up a micro-hydro generator.
@@michaelb1761 Why is it illegal in the US?
@@moreofawave It is highly regulated due to environmental concerns. The cost of getting all of the required permits and approvals would be prohibitive, and even then, anyone who find out about it in time and wanted to make your life miserable could delay it for years through environmental challenges. It would be very difficult in general to get plans approved for the diversion of a sidestream of water through a turbine electricity generator, and in a stream that contains or might contain an endangered specie, it would be impossible.
@@michaelb1761 Ok. Thanks for the thorough reply!
I am obsessed with tiny houses 🥴 Can't wait to live that minimalistic, sustainable life❤️
When I discovered your program Bryce I immediately realized that this was the life for me!
This was a great presentation. Loved when she said living like this made her feel like a bad ass. She has incredible upscale tastes and the money was well spent ❤️ I’m in love with her home and her beautiful energy shows up everywhere. Job well done 👍🏼

They are truly living their best lives without the big houses and rooms you never use lol. Life really is about the little things! She should be very proud to boast her accomplishments, bravo bravo 👏😉✌
She's spot on when she says get a woodstove. Every house should have one. You can always find free wood to burn if needed. Wish she would have went into more detail about the spot she's at. Looks like she has a neighbor.
Yeah, I wondered what the other "cabin" was, is it hers? Or someone else's?
Yeah gathering branches sticks bark pieces even cutting up stups is a source of firewood. is a dieing art even burning cow chips is frowned upon.

Most favorite episode so far - loooove her style - so clean and organized and yet so cozy and comfy, full of cute, little, meaningful pieces ✌🏽
Sema in major cities, Nairobi, Mombasa n Ksm,ocha hakuna mtu anajenga Windows na grills.
True. I was also thinking flood zone.

beautiful place, I don't think I could live without the power or water, but its pretty amazing she's making it work
For 80 grand, the designer should have rigged a water storage, which many tiny houses have. What's she gonna do in the winter, and I wonder if she has to fend off bears.
@@daisie222 I hear ya. Me too. I live in a small apartment.
The home has some really lovely features (like the kitchen), but I have some serious concerns watching her drink water straight out of that river. She definitely needs to be using a water filter of some kind (even if it's one of the camping sort you hang). You can catch some pretty nasty things from unfiltered water, and it's important to maintain potable and non-potable water containers without cross contaminating.
she was using a filter pump

Yep....fools forget about wildlife poop, infecting the water, in runoff from mountains. An entire town in the Carolina mountains, got real sick from Beaver poop running down the mountain, into the water. Nowadays, one cannot do that.
Please would you ask more technical questions like:
- how they heat the home- in details
- what is the material of the walls of the house
- and many more technical questions regarding the building of the house
just google ;) I assume it is up to you, and the weather conditions of the area..
you need to know how much you consume and resolve the sources with ecological solutions, the less footprint, the better for Pachamama

Is it just me, or does 80k sound like a lot of money for that?
demandred1957 a lot cheaper than a Motorhome or new Airstream trailer.

I'm not sure why people are being so critical. I saw no discomfort in this video at all. In fact I only picked up on calmness, and self assuredness.
