Thank you Sean. I've only been playing guitar for a year and a bit. I find your videos very helpful. Can't wait to get home and try this with my Boss DD-7 delay.
Dude... thanks! Without your help I could never have went past my mediocre guitar playing and moved into common decency. Thanks! Keep up with the jokes too!
I couldn't agree more about having to feel the rhythm based on the delay repeats. But you know what the truly frustrating thing is when playing rhythm with delay? When you're keeping perfectly in sync to your delay but your drummer isn't!
Sean, fabulous break down and impressive undertaking to break down this song. If you are curious.. edge did a wonderful explanation on how he created this song by demonstrating it on an acoustic guitar during an interview with Howard stern and fascinating look into u2’s creative process... The interview is on SoundCloud here: soundcloud.com/howardstern/howu2created_wherethestreetshavenoname Keep up the great work.. I am learning so much.
Hi Sean, what about the strumming? Is he strumming 16th notes? Because the song's BPM is 126 and it's just freaking hard to strum 4 times per beat at that tempo and I'm pretty relaxed. I can't even pick that fast without messing up.
to think Brian eno wanted to delete this track when recording Joshua tree coz it was taking too long. They spent a big part of studio time just on this song
Delbert Giovanni Look up Fingerstyle Blues, it's a tricky but if you're going acoustic that's a great way. Otherwise just play any of your usual pentatonic licks but if you have trouble with the bends slide instead. For example a full bend (12b14) just slide up to the 14 and back again.
Very cool. I didn't realize that "shimmer" sound that the Edge created was the result of a delay pedal.

Such a cool pedal! Rock it out Scott!
I really like the delay in the song. Also the Edge's version of love is blindness also has cool delay in it.
Delay is such a cool effect.

+jake lee Thanks so much for reaching out Jake! I'll keep em coming!
I may or may not secretly have Sean thinking about U2 more and more now...... :) Love Streets btw...
Haha, you did this to me!!!!
Excellent lesson! Thank you very much!
+Erich Nestler Thanks for watching Erich!
Sounds pretty good. But Edge actually spits his guitar output, and uses 2 delays at two different settings.
More lessons for my bag of tricks. Yes please!
Rock it out Joel!
Thats a kick ash delay pedal polo , heading to the music shop now 🖒
Right on man! That Timeline is ridiculous.
Thanks for sharing.
+LEE BRALY Happy to help Lee!
Not a huge fan of the Edge but it will certainly open new musical doors in my playing! Thanks Sean!
Happy to help!
Hi sean I'm interested in buying a delay pedal which one do you recommend me the strymon timeline or the new Empress echo sistem?
+Victor Rangel Just mentioned it on the QA, I'm team Timeline but both great pedals :)

+Roy Meyer Haha, yeah it's tough to fix that one :)
