Social media is such a waste of time. My biggest regret is ever getting social media. Should’ve focused on school and tried to make goals for myself instead of mindlessly scrolling through pictures of people who don’t care about me.
Quit now while it’s fresh on your mind. For many that struggle is there because we often feel like we have more friends than we actually do. You see your followers and you think you have hundreds of friends when in reality you have maybe 6 that you really care about and want to see what they do online and what they share. The unfortunate truth is that you most likely don’t have 300 close friends that you care about, yeah you may know 300 people but that doesn’t mean you really care about them enough to stay tuned on what they share online. I quit for a month or so and I can say I was honestly happier not knowing all the small news stories going on. I was confused when people were talking about pop culture but I was happy that I wasn’t on my phone as often as everyone else. If you don’t want to quit which is understandable (I say I’d love to quit but I haven’t) but you can start leaving your phone in say your room while you go make food or so to the store. It’s times like that where you can ease into not scrolling and observing the people and world around you

I feel like TH-cam is different from other media, in TH-cam you can post a bunch of videos about real life stuff and blogs to help others. Meanwhile, apps like Instagram and Facebook I feel like mainly serve to keep people superficial as they only post what they want other people to see, pictures to get instant gratification and to allow you to check on other people so constantly comparing yourself to others.

All of my friends and family, with a few exceptions, are over 1000 miles away. Such is the result of a cross-country move during a pandemic. Social media doesn't have to compete ... it's one of the two major ways I can stay connected to my former life.
Twitter was on the verge of going under until 2015/2016 Trump.
A real question that's been in my mind; is TH-cam considered social media? If it's not what makes it substantially different from Intsagram or Twitter.
I feel like TH-cam is different from other media, in TH-cam you can post a bunch of videos about real life stuff and blogs to help others. Meanwhile, apps like Instagram and Facebook I feel like mainly serve to keep people superficial as they only post what they want other people to see, pictures to get instant gratification and to allow you to check on other people so constantly comparing yourself to others.

I have no clue how many, or even if I have any followers and I don't care. I find the wordage creepy. I do twitter because FB has way too many ads and their algorithm sucks. I have engaged zero actual friends on twitter. I just wanted to read Elon's posts.

TH-cam has am algorithm that aims to keep your attention. Sick of people claiming that youtube is some healthy option, it’s exactly the same

I spent 20 years at top advertising & PR agencies, a woman dominated field. They are the owners and upper management of the industry. I climbed from intern to vice president, and was disrespected, harassed, verbally abused, mindfcked, DISCRIMINATED AGAINST FOR BEING MALE...
They openly talked about what "idiots" their boyfriends and husbands were....it is a culture of HATING ALL men. Not just the old or white ones, ALL men.
What I'm getting at is this: you will NOT like a kamela harris presidency, or at least the impact on you 5 years later. I did not WANT to vote for trump, but all men will have a worse daily existence if we don't slow down the MISANDRIST, booming matriarchy.
