    Could you print a headstone with all of the writing on it? How much would it cost for a small one? I wander through cemeteries sometimes, and many of the oldest stones are illegible. I think replacement headstones would be a good market for you if the process was not too expensive.

    So very cool! You guys are very talented! Kootenay talent!

    Amazing! Are you using fast hardening concrete? or is the mortar mix really dense so it stands the weight of the upper layers?
    Congrats on the records!

    • @twente-am
      @twente-am  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ignacio,
      Yes, these mortars are quick setting and have very specific rheological properties which reduce slump. Advances in materials keep pushing the limits of what we can print.

    Wow. The robotic toolpath developed to print an arch is pure genius. What is maximum span you can achieve with your current mixture and strategy? Have you thought about incorporating any localised reinforcement to help increase the span?

    • @twente-am
      @twente-am  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! This was the span which worked for that particular design but we can most likely do even better! Reinforcment can definitely improve curing propoerties and final properties so the limits can be pushed even further. :)

    Nice. Does the robot damages the middle arch a bit at 2:29?

      It was the loose hoses that bumped in a few places. Probably could use a housing for the nozzle.

    I see a serious shortage of Mason and concrete sand.
    Are there alternatives.
    Can old concrete be ground-up and used in lew of sand or as a percentage of mix design.

    • @twente-am
      @twente-am  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mix design including recycled aggregates are being tested by a few companies in the industry already yes. The materials portion of the equation will be evolving to a high degree over the next decade.
