If the Spurs get the Raptors 1st round pick, we could get 2 top 7 picks in this draft and have our future starting Point Guard and Forward. So many possibilities, I am excited for all of them. Hoping both picks bring upgrades over and alongside Vassell.

The Spurs have made clear that they were going for a slow growth, by nurturing talent. They won't burn all their capital for Young, and Atlanta clearly wants a LOT (they're right tho). I would love to see the two play together but is it worth blowing the next drafts for the SAS ?

Risacher is a really safe pick. Great shooter (best in this draft imo), can be streaky but really understands a system and thus rarely takes bad shots. He's tall, can create for others. Not that athletic but his size and lenght make him a threat on all 3 levels. And his background is VERY safe : he seems to be a great kid, humble and with a great environment : his dad is a former pro basketball player in Europe and former French international. His sister is a pro basketball player too (asvel) so it really runs in the family.
He looks like a solid future 2rd or 3rd option in offense to me.

Don’t overpay for Trey young. Draft and develop to dominate for a decade. The draft is a crapshoot so more picks means more chances to hit.

Trae is a weak fit at best. You don't need ball dominant guy with Wemby. I would focus on gathering wing players. PG Wemby needs a high-level defensive player who just does good game management. Wemby has a lot of growth still left, especially in the offensive end. He would probably be better off going through rough patches and developing.

Naah… they need a backup at 4/5 that’s it. Wemby + Sochan works very well in the front court. They need a 3 & D and a PG. If things go well for them they could draft Risacher and just decide to trade the Raptors & Atlanta’s pics to get Trae Young… Or go full rebuild and draft Topic for PG… They have so many options thanks to their crap year it’s scary… The Sochan at PG experiment was the Spurs clever way of tanking… It will all make sense next season.

Everyone seems so sure that Wemby will stay at Spurs indefinitely and that spurs have time to create a dynastie. Nobody knows the future. Wemby is Wemby, he is not Tim, nor Tp or Manu. Maybe after his contract, he would want to find another challenge and go to another franchise. Wemby is in a hurry, he wants to win titles quickly and is doing everything to do so. He is serious, works a lot, pays attention to his diet and sleep. He's not going to wait for the spurs to tank every year to develop young players.

I'm sorry but Spurs became a dynasty due to the face they have multiple all-star level players on their rosters. The Admiral, Kawhi, Manu, and Parker. I get it that Wemby will thrive in his NBA career but to glaze right off the bat that they will "dominate" the league for years to come is just straight up bollocks. I have no doubt Wemby will get his, but the question remain how will the rest of the team performs.
People keep comparing him to the likes of Robinson and Duncan, and sure, the possibility is there. But people forgot they are literally superstar caliber players. No one on the their current roster (outside Wemby) or the upcoming draft screams superstar potential. Comparing his supporting cast of Sochan, Vassell, etc to the likes of Manu, Tony Parker, etc. is complete disrespect.

Nope. Trae Young is not a Popovich fit. Getting Dejounte Murray back would be a better solution.
wemby with 7.4 can't play 35 min for 80 games and more unless you want to increase the risk of injury. He must have days off or a few matches where he will play less. When Wemby is on the bench, the defense is just terrible. That's why spurs need another great defender Sarr who will play when Wemby is rested and of course also with him. And I think spurs must trade a great pg not necessarily Trae, but a very good pg not an all star and with experience. Wemby will not wait 4 years before having a competitive team.You improve faster when you play with very good players. After his contract, he could leave. So if the spurs want to win with him, they have to move quickly.

T-Young is overrated and overpriced, no thanks..... spurs need a dynamic small forward. To address their point guard issues, they should get Tyus Jones and have his brother Tre Jones come off the bench for him.
TRASH YOUNG is a horrible shooter..,his FG% is horrible and hurts his team.
I think people need to realize that there is no rush here rebuilds normally take minimum 5 years max 10. People only looking to win games and okay with making playoffs but we’re building for long term success. This year was the development and experiment year the next two years the roster will look different and will potentially improve our play, but slow it down on getting Trae there is no guarantee.
Dynasties are a thing of the past now. The league is too talented and teams can recruit players so quick that a lottery team can become a super team in one offseason. To be a dynasty you need to be significantly better than all the other teams for an extended period of time. The last one was the GS Warriors and to become one they basically had to assemble the greatest team of all time by adding KD to a 73-9 team. So that's probably what it will take for another team to completely dominate the league and win three or more titles.

I highly doubt Trae would go to Spurs. As much of compatible player he is to Wemby, Trae wants to win. His chances is very slim with a young Spurs team who is basically trying to develop their young guys. Bigger chance Trae would go to Lakers instead.

Averaging a couple blocks a game Does Not mean you're a good defender. For Wemby, that only shows he has the height to be a threat for bad shot attempts at the rim, but the Spurs are Not better defensively with him. How so?
