Whether you are a seasoned advocate or just starting out this video covers oral and written advocacy skills taught by a UK Bar Training Course Provider. Prior to enrolling on the Bar Training Course, I had no advocacy experience and the experience was truly a crash course on the fundamentals of first-class advocacy. I spent more than £20, 000 to enroll on the course and many hours practising advocacy...here is what I learned.
We delve into the fundamental principles of advocacy taught during the course, focusing on both written and oral advocacy. When it comes to written advocacy, we emphasize the importance of studying the facts, identifying key issues, and presenting clear and succinct submissions. Simplicity is the key to effective persuasion, ensuring that your message is easily understood and compelling to your audience.
Moving on to oral advocacy, we discuss the significance of rehearsing your arguments and gradually moving away from scripted delivery. By experimenting with your own advocacy style, filming and analyzing your performances, you can eliminate bad habits and improve your persuasive abilities. We touch upon crucial aspects like tonality, speed, volume, and incorporating pauses for impactful delivery.
We explore the importance of structuring your arguments effectively and incorporating signposting techniques to provide your audience with a clear roadmap. When responding to opposing advocacy, studying your opponent's arguments and incorporating their impact into your own arsenal can strengthen your persuasive approach.
Keeping a feedback log, which includes your own assessments as well as feedback from panels and tribunals, will contribute to your growth as an advocate. By incorporating the valuable lessons shared in this video, you can enhance your persuasive advocacy skills and become a more effective communicator in various contexts.

I love how you communicate your message through your cinematography/ editing. I’m a very visual learner, so I love when you shift to a visual representation of what you’re saying. Not to mention, it’s alway well structured too. Thank you 😊

Thanks! This is the best explanation I've encountered so far. Is what you mentioned the campaign message as well? What is difference between stakeholder and ally in advocacy?
