The thing is, a lot of people don't know the difference between "I don't like the way this game plays" and "this game is bad." All 3 of the modern doom games play pretty differently from one another, and that's by design, since the devs don't wanna just make the same game twice, and some people take them doing that as meaning the devs thought it was bad too, not just that they wanna do new and different stuff.
I hate the "this game don't play like other game I like" criticism. I've seen young fans and normie reviewers pose that argument: "Aw man, Minecraft's progression is awful. Why can't it be Terraria?"/ "Aw man, Doom looks unnatural. Why can't it be classic Doom?"
I think you completely misunderstood a large portion of the ideas behind the gameplay changes. They never phrased it as if they didnt like the way they did eternal, they did thie same thing when eternal was being shown off, talking about how much more mobile and air based it would be comlared to the precious game. Their whole deal was inovation, and making each games feel distinct. They litteraly said it at the start that they had different philosiphies for each, doom 2016 was Run and Gun doom eternal was Jump and Shoot, and this one was Stand and Fight.
Holy shit the negativity of people here. Ponies must be or very sad and angry people. Xbox and microaoft are cooking this year. Not agreeing to that is ok ofc but let us be real. Even if i dont like some gsmes millions maybe does. I dont like Ninja gaiden at all, but i am glad over it because many people are excited. Mixrosoft and xbox Increasing revenue and add millions of more gamers by making games to be able to play anywhere.
I think people just have a hate bias for Xbox, no matter what they do, people will just be negative about it. Regardless I think the games themselves are looking pretty good.
Missed this one despite being there for it as I've been a bit pallid myself. Was totally set to catch it, blinked, and woke up having been raid-shuttled to someone else a bit later. So, glad I get to see what I missed!
Not a Silent Hill fan, but I think the reason they went to the second game is due to its story being very stand alone. While 1 and 3 are linked. That and the fans seem to love the second game's story so much. Me ? I could never get into them, and I tried watching Black Shadow 993 play Silent Hill 2 Remake, but the game just depressed me and triggered my "Issues". Which is a shame, as I enjoy watching Shadow's Let's Plays, plus from all accounts he had fun.
Honestly, doom and ninja gaiden 4 are the only games i have absolute confidence that they will be good. The only issue i have with doom is the PC specs are pretty demanding according to what i have seen.

It's MADE by Platinum Games, it even clearly animates in a similar way. You should probably expect it to play more like MGR than Ninja Gaiden Sigma
