- In this 1st episode of our BMW R-nineT Projekt, I will show you the build process of a Handmade Aluminum Cafe racer Tail.
It is made of aluminum, and built mainly with hand tools and a English Wheel.

I am a Certified Welding Inspector. His welding is excellent. Aluminum is a temperamental metal to weld, especially at that gauge.
His technique, and the use of the correct heliarc machine prevented warping the piece.
I loved the finish work for the build he was doing but these welds look so good that in a more “organic” project it would be attractive to leave the weld profile in the finished project.
Excellent craftsmanship, it looks like an OEM piece of bodywork.

This is phenomenal, I came for the tail and I was blown away by the tank as well. OEM's cant even produce to this level!
The tank is the OEM BMW part. But the tail is still impressive though. True craftsmanship!

I use different types of alloy, in this video i use En-Aw 1050 ;)
@@KRTframework thanks for the info , I recently finished making a subframe/undertray/battery box for my gsxr 1100 street fighter project mostly from 5083 ,was lovely to weld but far from easy to work, hoping to do more body work in the future so any hints/tips or information received with gratitude 👍
