I’m ok and working hard just not on the Stang. The wife had me remodeling the house for several weeks then it was fall prep for winter, that took a couple more weeks. Currently I’m working on guitar projects, building a couple telecasters and restoring a 53 Les Paul. Then I’ll get back to Betsy. Still have the master cylinder to replace and the dang driveline is vibrating after replacing the U-joints.
Thanks for thinking about me, I appreciate it.

Any update on the 9in rear end, did you get rid of the noise fully? (I still hear it in the video) I have a speedway and it bothers me soo much spent too much money on it trying to fix it.

That speedway diff is still sitting under my bench, still noisy. I may spend more time on it but at this point Betsy is running the used ford diff I put together. It has a whine at high speed that started recently. I didn’t notice till decelerating at the end of a run at the Madras drags. It’s so slight but runs quiet on cruise. What you may be hearing is the last noise I have yet to cure. It’s a resonant drone at around 230 hz set off by road noise. Same fz no matter what speed I’m driving. Could be a suspension component / system or maybe the subframe connectors.

I was going to say the same thing, touch the starter and she fired right up. Great drive along, thank you, You have a good rear end selection as I have to drop between 5th and 4th a lot on hills as 4 is too high and 5th is just too low. I agree that bigger the cam the more trouble , my 347 had a huge cam with tons of duration. Might I suggest pull plug 1 and get it TDC and verify the timing mark to start as this seems like it is still not timed right. Anyway just a thought , hope you find the issue.

Hey Wally, didn’t you go to 3:55 gears in your convertible? I thought we discussed rear end ratios at one time. I don’t remember your tire size except it was larger than Betsy’s.

@@donsmanufactory I know, do not get me wrong the car is great off the line but it is that 55MPH speed that gets right between 4th and 5th. In 4th I am running 2700 but 5th is a growly 1800. Most speed limits around here is 80KPH or 50MPH. Of course I go a little faster than that. It could be my exhaust as well as it is fairly loud and that rumble could also be impacting my perceptions. Being a convertible all noises feedback into the car.

I agree somewhat on that. With smaller tires 🛞 Betsy can get caught in that in between zone. If she was a cruiser only I would have gone with 3.25 gears. That being said Betsy pulls fine in 5th gear. Cruising at 50 in 5th is about 1600 rpm. Doable on the back roads but requires a down shift on steeper hills. 50 mph in 4th is about 2500 rpm so pretty easy either way. 55 is fine in 5th. 65 mph is about 2200 in fifth so lots of torque for hills.

@@donsmanufactory Thank you , they sound relatively the same. As I said maybe it is the grumble of my exhaust that make me thing she is struggling at 1700 so I downshift
