I have the Late 2013 21.5". It's an amazing machine; quiet, fast and reliable. The best part is the screen. It's bonded to a thin layer of glass and produces hardly any reflection. I've just visited an Apple shop to inspect this new M1. I found it way too reflective and will therefore be keeping my old one for a few years longer. You can see how reflective this new M1 is even in your video.
@@UbergeeksBiz I enjoyed your video; it was interesting to see the inside. Did you eventually replace the screen on that M1? And how did it get those nasty cracks?
@@choomanfoo Thank you. No, I can't find replacement screen on the market yet. Went to apple store, they told me would cost $700+ to get the screen fix. Hahaha... guess what I did ?
So, I know you said that the screen may be repaired with a new glass, but i didn't see you actually try and remove it from the digitizer. Did you ever separate them and is the glass actually replaceable? thx
Just proves that apple will do whatever it takes to make you beholdant to them. My advice is don't buy the new models. If you are so apple inclined buy older models where you can repair and upgrade them and still get great performance. Everyone must realise that Apple only care about one thing...and that is the allmighty dollar! So much so that they will not let you repair or upgrade their products. That is only going get worse moving forward. I bet you that in the not too distant future prices of second hand models of both imacs and macbook pros airs etc will increase in value..especially the ones that can be repaired and upgraded. This is finite though as its just a matter of time until Apple mac their newer OS incompatible on older systems. The only sure way of beating them or making them listen..is to stop buying Apple. Simple...honestly its in our hands. The power is with us!!!
Is that possible you only replace the front glass not the whole lcd?
Is there a place to by a replacement screen for the 24" imac?
Excellent content!
