    What's your go to lens for street photography? 🤔

      Just about ANY prime Lens that have either a shorter or longer focal length for full frame cameras ! I use 14mm, 21mm, 24mm, 35mm, 55mm, 65mm, 85mm and sometimes even 110mm or 135mm. Now I most often use two Cameras, one Camera mounted with a wide angle prime Lens and an other mounted with a short tele Lens, some times with a third Lens in the bag. Some times I only use one Camera with one Lens.

    I bought the cheap 35mm for my most recent trip and was honestly impressed with results even compared to my 28-70

    Broooo I’m from Jesolo beach…which is like 20 km from Venice. I’ve always been interested in street photography and this video is just an inspiration. You just make me wanna get out and shoot more. THANKS 🙏🏽

    I would say the 24-105 F4. Absolute performer on the street.

    Great video! I'm a fan of the 35mm for street photography. I'm a fan of the 50 but i use that for portrait shoots

    One year ago when I just started street photography, I think a zoom lens would do it all. However, now I realize that prime and zoom lens are totally different thing.
    1) 50mm gives you 50mm view. Using 200mm to cover the same content as 50mm does doesn't mean you get the same view, for example the compression feeling.
    2) if you don't have much street photography experience, a zoom lens is very hard to use because it provides you too many options for the same scene. Whereas a prime lens can really train you composition skills.
    I think the 24 + 50 + tele zoom kit is a decent combination. Because it not only covers focal lengths from wide to tele, but also force you to create 24mm and 50mm views.

    I have 2 go to’s personally. My Konica Hexanon AR 40mm f1.8 is an awesome balanced normal focal length and my TTArtisan 100mm f2.8 triplet is also great for when I want to try out some more abstract stuff. ~50mm is also a great performer.

      Nice picks! Love that 40-50mm range for a general performer

      @@TKNORTHyeah, James Popsys pretty much only shoots in that range and his stuff is incredible. His work usually isn’t street photography but it’s incredible regardless

    After watching tones of POV vids I say:
    85mm for what it is
    35 mm for where it is

      @@RandumbTech thanks. 85mm is my fav but looking at some 35mm pics I would say these both lenses are the best option. 50mm is kinda predictable because this is angle what our eyes see. My mom has 48mm lens in iPhone and that's good but not enough to beat 35mm and 85mm. 85mm is perfect for car photography. North Borders is good example.

    Hey man! I’m curious, have you ever use the EF 24 1.4 if so, how does it compare with the RF 24 1.8

    • @TKNORTH
      @TKNORTH  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Heya! I've only used the Sigma EF 24 1.4 not the Canon version. The sigma is great but quite large and much heavier than this RF 1.8.

    Hey, thanks for the video.
    Been using my 55-210mm for all around everything including street photography, and ive been wanting a detailed comparison between the other lenses out there.
    Been wanting to upgrade to other lenses but im just confused on which works best for everyting
    Now ive seen your examples, its clear that maybe a tele lens aint that bad after all :)

      @@TKNORTH yep! 35mm f1.8. my friends all preferred that one, but i like how tele lenses give you more versatality in terms of compression, framing, zoom, etc. and i dont need to swap lenses 😔 thats always a hassle on the go

  • @79ruckus

    The new Sony 24-50 is amazing for its size and coverage area. Had a chance to test it out and basically covers 3 or 4 prime focal lengths with a size that’s barely larger than a normal prime.

  • @alandargie9358
    @alandargie9358 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I find if I use primes I tend to keep the same one on the camera and can't be bothered chopping and changing when out and about. Just when I spot something exceptional that needs the change in floral length. Which (for me) adds to the 24-105mm argument!
    Great video though, some lovely shots and a good point about Saul Leiter, I love his stuff.

  • @alandargie9358
    @alandargie9358 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    If most of all your 70-200mm shots were at the lower end then it would suggest that the good old 24-105mm is a good bet!
