Your sensibility is wonderful. Your music is also wonderful. I followed your photos on "X".
It happens that I was there - with a different group - at the same time. Delightful to see many of the same subjects from different shooting perspectives, and even more delightful to experience again those incredible moments when the light "exploded." Tuscany is a photographer's paradise. If you can get there, go!
I love all the images with the flowers in the foreground. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful Shots Mads! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful location. Beautiful light. Beautiful shots.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
Thanks for sharing, beautiful pics, love them.❤
the one with the flowers sticking out into the sky! It looks like a surreal painting
Beatiful and well thought out photo's. Nice variety in weather conditions too.
Stunning images, great explanations… thank you!
Stunning scenery , I loved the shots with the out of focus poppies in the foreground ❤
Прекрасные фотографии их прекрасных мест, Очень приятно наблюдать за вашими эмоциями когда вы видите этот замечательный свет
Amazing what you extract from these locations and opportunities
Soaking in every single one of your videos, so so good! ❤
Beautiful photos and music!
Merci pour vos conseils.
Absolutely gorgeous photographs - of one of my most favored places on earth. Superb work Mads Peter! 👏🏻👏🏻
I love how this looks more natural than everything focus stacked. This is how I love to shoot
Great insights and ideas. My favourite is the farmhouse under the storm clouds which bring great drama to the image.
Thanks for the tips. You always demonstrate some great composition ideas for those of us who live near rolling hills and don't have much chance to travel to lakes with mountains in the background.
I like the one on the left
Fantastic photos!
My favourite photo of the tree with yellow flowers clean lined one because I found it less distracting
I liked the shot with the yellow flowers breaking the horizon because they were the same color as the midground. But wow, that sunset!!! Great Thomas Heaton impression-absolutely stunnin'! Love it! Cheers from the USA!
I liked the photograph in which those two clouds seem to have an argument by sunset. Nice video
Another great video Mads.
I found it hard to pick my favourite out of the two image's, but i think the one with the flowers sticking up making a frame.
Stunning image's as usual.
Look forward to the next one.
Beautiful pictures 👏👏👏
Stunning images as always. Having been to most of the locations you showed, you gave a completely different viewpoint on those iconic locations.
That's great to hear! :D
I preferred the one without the flowers sticking up. The image is superbly balanced and striking in its simplicity!
So nice … well done 👍
Beautiful photos ! Wow ! For my choice for the one with the yellow flowers : I prefer the one on the right side with some blurry flowers enveloping the tree.
Great shots 👍👍👍
Wonderful and informative video. Great ideas and stunning results.
I will use many of these ideas in a couple of weeks at the Palouse in Eastern Washington State.
Hopefully, Tuscany will be in my future someday.
Super video and incredible shots !!! My choice is the flowers framing the tree. The photo at 10:54 is a beauty !!! The clouds look like two people reaching out to each other !!
10:59 Mads looks as if there is a battle going on in the heavens 😊!!! another great Video!
wow...very very cool
Great Photos and great video 😎🤌
Wonderful photos, amazing video! I've been missing Tuscany... think I'll get tickets to return ASAP.
Go for it ;D
Bellissime...la mia Italia ❤️
I'll take it as a small personal victory when I'm looking at the preliminary B-roll thinking, "Hmmm... I think I'd shoot it *this* way" then Mads lines up the composition and it's *this* way! Yay!! 😀 As for the two versions, I prefer the one without the blurry foreground flowers. The scene is not inherently soft and fuzzy, but rather strongly graphical and I think the presence of the foreground blurred flowers dilutes the graphical strength of the composition and colors.
Agreed. I'm sure Mads disagrees, but the "blurred foreground" effect does nothing for me - probably because I used it far too often when I was first taking up photography and now look back and cringe at those efforts. Even in these images, I found myself thinking "I wish that foreground was in focus" about half the time.
@@ravenfallsphotography6254 Agreed, could on focus stack two images so the foreground was also in focus.
Stunning images Mads, especially loved the panos you shared. I have the 100-500 RF lens on my list to purchase as I do miss the longer range from time to time and the options of capturing subjects at a higher focal range
Yeah, If I was using Canon I'd probably go 15-35, 24-105 and 100-500! :D
Every single one of these photos was absolutely stunning!!
I really enjoy shooting landscapes with my telephoto Zoom lens!
The one with the flowers in front!
If I needed convincing re telephotos, these shots would do it!
Hey Mads! Tuscany photos are absolutely stunning it's almost surreal. You inspire! Do you think that tuscany hills are going to be still green at the start of july?
So went to Pienza and yes one of your viewpoints helpt a lot.
A 5 AM waking-up last week and no fog at all were I was staying. But moved on the way and could see ground fog in the distance as I drove down from Pienza.
And yes…Poggio Covili was surrounded with nice low fog. Went to one of your viewpoints from your location map....and wow, was able to make an epic shot…
So thank you because even if I know the surroundings since many, many years I wouldn’t have the idea of going to that specific viewpoint !!!!
Sorry, but meant: an epic shot by my standards...
Beautiful photos. At the 11 minute mark, I am VERY curious about what the two cloud figures are saying to one another!
I love the one with out of focus poppy flowers, and the one with rain clouds bursting is epic.
BTW I've seen many of your videos and today I saw you first time without the wooly hat, and it felt weird for a split second. Didn't even notice that before, but that hat became your permanent feature in my head 😂
Hehe, I am sure there are other videos where I don't use my beanie ;) But thanks! :D
Beautiful photos, I especially like those at 10:40. But where did that EPIC! vibe go? I kind of miss it 😀Take care, Mads.
Could you try a video shooting landspace photography with film ? This could make for a fun challenge as well and surprising results. I would love to see what you'd come up with. If you do, I definitely recommend you use medium format cameras rather than 35mm camera.
Nice insight into your photography trip, as usual.
was there any filter used when u took the morning shots? Love the photos. Tuscany has been on my bucket list for years... Hopefully someday.
I hope you get to go there! It's amazing! And no, I did use a pol filter for the yellow flower photos :)
Thanks for another great and useful video! Greetings from Russia =)
11:01 would really like to see editing process of this photo. Thanks for videos, you are an inspiration
Hey Mads! I’m looking to upgrade to a Z5 or Z7 from my rebel t3i - if I only had money for one lens at the moment for landscape, would you go higher zoom (28-400, 70-200, etc) or something like the 24-70 f4, or would you recommend a prime wide angle first to get a feel for a specific focal length? Cheers! Keep up the great vids
It generally depends where, what and how you shoot, but unless you specifically wanna do Astro landscape photography I'd get a wide-angle zoom instead of a prime.
Mads, do you find you have a similar approach to your drone photography where you use zoom functionality for compression and to assist with composition, or do you tend to stay fixed focus?
I take a lot of telephoto shots and am wondering if a fixed lens will be too limiting, or if it is a ‘nice to have’ on a drone?!? Thanks as always for your awesome videos
I'm definitely seeing myself using the longer focal length lenses on my drone now that I have them :)
Lovely views and photos, Mads! I have an eos R, and I’m really needing to get me a tele lens. Although I could get any of the RF system, I still also shoot with EF Dslr and slr film cameras, so I think I’ll stick with the EF for the long run. Now, what i’d like to know from you is what tele range do you think is more useful? I’m planing on get the sigma 150-600mm so I can be able to shoot some moon alignments as well, but a bit afraid of its size and weight to carry around for landscape as well as being a bit of overkill length, maybe…
How about the 100-500? :)
@@MadsPeterIversen the 100-500 seems to be pretty solid, but i meant that I’d like to stick with the EF mount… I guess I’ll stick with the sigma 150-600 plan for it’s a budget lens as well…
Once again, great video Mads! Although I understand your reason not to focus stack one of the images you presented, I would have liked you to focus stack one of your images with the red flowers in the foreground. Just curious how that would look.
Very messy is my guess ;)
Yes you made it, very nice video and pictures. About the picture at 5:30 prefer the one the right, like very much the flowers out of focus.
Very nice, and the image 10:45, 11:00 and 13:15 me blown away, very dramatic and beautiful. Will be in the region myself for the next 3 days and was just thinking of playing more with the foreground like you did rather than making pano’s.
So yes, this video confirmed me even more of doing so.
Know most of the places but didn’t know the one on 13:15….thanks for sharing.
About focus stacking, don’t be afraid to do so. In macrophotography as well and end up with sometimes 70 pictures for a stack. I’m using Olympus for my macro so the images are only 17,5 Mb, nothing to see with my Sony (A7r5).
But prefer the out of focus images for the landscape pictures you made. Nice !!!
So bought your location map even if I know the most of them…but didn’t find the one of 10:45…
And since last year began to photograph also again with Poggio Covili…nice place but found it to obvious…was wrong. But think the 10th picture (with Scooter) is at another place.
Thanks for the long comment, Edward! The location you're asking about is along on the of the gravel roads south of Pienza, which I marked on the map ;)
10:55 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 blow my mind!! Amazing! Stunning! I have no words to describe how this picture make me feel. Keep it going! I love your contents. One question: do you use the mechanical or electronic shutter?
Thanks an Italian fun!
I use both dependent on the situation and thanks a lot! :D
@@MadsPeterIversen I would be very interested in understanding when you prefer one and when the other!
Wow! It's so amazing. which country there? I love Nature Photography and I do it with Superzoom Camera, like Sony rx10 iv.
It's Italy and the region is Tuscany :)
@@MadsPeterIversen It's soooo amazing
Mads, see if you can find a copy of the film Vado a Riprendermi il Gatto. The shots of Tuscan countryside are just stunning.
I guess I'll need to watch that :)
Why do you awesome photographers have the awesome light at every location? When I go to the iconic location, the light almost certainly ends up being crappy. 😂
Probably because we try to optimize and go at the right time? 🤔 That said, we don't always get the best possible light.
Beautiful locations. Just signed up for next May's Tuscany workshop. Really looking forward to it.
That's so awesome! Looking forward to it already! :D
with the tree on the hill, is there any particular reason you don't use a 1:1 format ?
Nah, I generally just tend to prefer the others :)
It's interesting to look at your screen and see zebras - what do you have them set to? On my Sony, I've found that "Lower Limit" and "109+" will show zebras when I will clip any of the RGB channels. Therefore easy to ETTR with no risk of overexposure.
Keep up the videos. I look forward to each one :)
For now I've just kept it on 100, as long as I see the zebra stripes I should be good, but "beyond" them I clip the highlights.
@@MadsPeterIversen really worth trying "Lower Limit" and "109+". Allows you to just dial up the exposure till you see the 1st zebras and then knock it down one notch. Basically impossible to over-expose (or at least choose which areas you are willing to sacrifice)
@5:50 I like the cleaner left photo. Your biggest problem must be... you don't have enough walls ;-)
“But, considering what we captured, I don’t think we can complain.” I should think not - the sky in that second photo looked like an atomic bomb had gone off.
What lens was it? I couldn’t catch it
The Tamron 50-400 :)
@@MadsPeterIversen tyvm cheers
haha, we travelled Tuscany the same time and our ways crossed at Baccoleno. I was one of the dozens of people next to you trampling down the clover
I personally like less the ones with blurry foreground. I find it distracting.
My thought too. I think if they have too be blurry, they should be super blurry, like fading away. These were just distracting. Would have prefered them sharp.
The left one.
F11 seems overkill to me. At that distance I dont find it necessary and you avoid difraction of the lens. But you probably know that anyway 😅
f/11 is the sharpest part of that lens with the best corners ;)
I didnt know that 😅😅
3:00 where is this Tree pls? I've been looking for this tree for 3 years...I'm a big fan of yours, I always look forward to hearing from you
You've probably passed it many times then. It's at the chapel :)
@@MadsPeterIversen oh very nice thank you maybe I understand where is it. Than you Mads. Where do you come in Trentino in the Dolomites, where I live.
I feel like im the only one still using canon none of these TH-camrs use canon.
Plenty of people are. I think Canon lost a lot of us pro's to Sony in the late 2010's as Sony really improved everything about their cameras and Canikon decided to lack a little with their development.
at 0.21, wtf !
wtf what?
