The Jeep Liberty CRD is equipped with a torquey 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine that gets better gas mileage than the Liberty's standard 3.7-liter V6, can tow up to 5,000 pounds, and with standard 4WD enables its owner to go places most compact SUVs can't.
I bought a new 2006 Lib CRD for my wife, it has over 90K miles on it and we still LOOOOOOOOVE it! It's such a fun zippy & FAST little buggy. I love taking it off road with the windows down listening to it snorting & grunting like warthog plowing up ground. We plan on having it for at least 20 years, 5 down, 15 more to go!
Wish we had the CRD we got the 3.7 in 09 such a great car any way
I was lucky to grab a 2005 CRD before they were all gone. It pulls down the highway with almost no effort. It turns really sharp so it is easy to park and the mileage is way better then the gas liberty I traded in. Inside I can't even hear the diesel sound. Only when I drop the window at the drive-in bank will I hear it.
USA needs more diesel vehicles.

The diesel liberty is the only american vehicle i would buy but because i couldnt i bought a 1993 mitsubishi pajero 2.8 diesel RHD from japan and love it

youve probably already chosen but i would get a renegade...i got a 2003 sport for my first car but i sold it about 2 months after i got it cuz it was my moms and i bought a 2001 dodge ram 2500 24v cummins turbo diesel
It seems *so* unforgiveable that the Jeep Liberty CRD Diesel was discontinued when it was. Why the USEPA has to stick their noses in where they don't belong is beyond me. I want to breath clean air as much as most people, but this is wrong! If people need a diesel powered SUV, they should be allowed one. I can think of a number of vehicles that would benefit from the 2.8 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine; if equipped with a good transmission and drivetrain. :)
@cburchell58 is there a difference apart from cosmetic i.e lights :/ as i like the renegade but i dont like the interior
iv bin looking @ a used jeep just like this not crd but limited in a bright red with the crm grill like that 1 and ther is something about it that looks girly , should i get a 2005 renagade blue @ the same place insteed? or a gold 1 with crm grill @ the same place ?

Well first off, if your looking for serious offroading don't buy a liberty. The Liberty is made for comfort on the pavement and light offroad use. If your looking for serious offroad jeep go for a wrangler rubicon with the dana 44 rear end. Much tougher and more capable off road jeep.
Whats the difference between Jeep Liberty's Sport, Renegade, and Limited? I'm looking for serious offroading.

It can "tow" 5,000. But you'll wish you bought a half-ton truck.

I just want to know how to fold the seats down and open the back cargo space!! Why is there no video showing that?? That would be a review! This is not efficient. The dealer doesn't know. Nobody knows! Guess I won't buy it!!
apophus8 to fold back seats down there is a level on the top of the back rest, just pull up the lever. To open the cargo area/ tail gate just use the key fob and press the top button twice that looks like the jeep has its rear window open.
