An oxymoron is a phrase that contains two opposed or contradictory concepts on same subject. example: And it grew both day and night; this line deals with single concept 'anger'. and how it grows day and night. In simple terms , two opposite words are used to describe the actions of the 'anger'.( how it grew). An antithesis, on the other hand, is a technique that conveys two opposing concepts in a sentence on different subjects in this poem, in the first stanza, first two line is about how he deals his anger with his friend. the last two lines of the first stanza is about how he deals his anger with the foe. i.e. two different concepts on two different subject matters.
