April 26, May 31 etc. It won't be weekly like last year, but I reckon monthly is good. Gives us plenty to chat about. I’ve heard they also had a proposal within the company to start a streaming service, after Netflix had already proved a popular mail-based service and were looking to start their streaming service. Again... the Blockbuster higher ups said no. The fall of Blockbuster is one of the most stubbornly self-inflicted declines of any major company. Multiple chances to change with the times and evolve just bold-facedly rejected.
Blockbuster had a streaming service for a time. The pricing model was the same as the stores' , you pay for each movie you stream. You can see why it failed.
Going with your parents to get a movie or rent a PlayStation game was awesome, today's kids will never understand. It's so easy to watch whatever we want when we want now. Not complaining, it's just the nostalgia. Thanks for doing this video, probably the last time I see inside a Blockbuster lol.

I miss Blockbuster. Growing up we would go every Friday or Saturday night and each kid would get to rent a movie and get a box of candy. I almost always rented a horror movie. My brother would get a comedy and my sister would get a teeny bopper movie. I honestly wanted to work at Blockbuster after high school. I am very sad to see it go.

There was still 4 blockbusters left at this point. 2 were in Alaska and another in Portland. I went to the one outside of Anchorage Alaska last year. There's plenty of video stores in Alaska because high speed internet is not available in alot of places.

Ah Blockbuster the closest I could ever get to the Disney experience(cost way to much to get the real experience) it was like walking into a wonderland every time I went when I was a kid.

There was still a Blockbuster in Australia a year ago?! Those went out of business here in the states a decade ago. Oh, and you should've got Fido. It is so dumb it is hilarious. The nostalgia this video brought back is depressing. Times were so good back in the late 80s and early 90s going to the video store with mom or dad to get a good scary movie or two. Maybe pick up a game for Sega. They were always so quiet even with a dozen people inside. Always had to get a bag of popcorn for the ride home. I remember always wondering why they had a room with streamers in the walkway with a sign that said "Over 18 only". Haha! I often wish we could go back to when the world moved so much slower and going to rent a movie was a big deal. Kids these days have everything but they are missing out on so much.
