The largies love that kind of cover. One of the most prolific anglers I know got his PB Largie not from a grate like that, but right at the mouth of one of those big drainage pipes that connected two ponds under a road. I always hit those when I seem them, the largies love them.

In the summertime when I fish small ponds in Georgia, I find a simple wacky rigged Zoom thrown up near the bank on the shady side does the trick on numbers. They love it being pulled off structure and falling, they always hit as soon as it breaks the surface. You can also use it in deeper water with a nail weight near known structure.
Next time you get the bullseye 🎯 before you leave. It felt like you left a spot where you were catching fish so that you can find fish lol

Mike heres a tip if you don't catch much in florida ponds, look for any signs of vegetation and cast right on the edges of them florida strained bass only hang out near vegetation for some reason- judging by the vegetation in there, i suggest using a black and blue swim jig for that grass though
