Hey Richard, you may be pushing it a bit with 180, will slacken it off a lot with mullet too. Most I’d go is 170 which is still a decent increase over stock (they originally had 150mm on this bike)

Hey Dazza, actually the opposite, as soon as the bike is loaded the spring has about 10mm clearance from the frame 👍 Been running it a month or so and it’s been fine, no sign of rubbing anywhere 👍👍
I understand the criticism of the geometry of the base bike, however, Decathlon did themselves no favours by producing just three sizes called M, L and XL when really these bikes are size S, M and L. So there is not really an XL which someone as tall as Rob needs. The chainstay length is a matter of what the bike is being used for. I live in the alps and we often do long steep climbs and I often wish I had a chainstay as long as on this Stilus so that I can get more weight on the front wheel. Every 10mm of extra chainstay puts an extra 1kg of weight on the front wheel! I would be very surprised if I lost out very much on the descent with a longer chainstay.

Rob, you know I love you man but (unless you’ve got more money than sense) please explain to us mere mortals the logic of buying a inexpensive full suss e-MTB only to pour a truckload of money (of HOPE goodies) into upgrading it? Yes your entire built still came under £5k but unlike the rest of us poor working slobs, you’re in a pretty unique position. The real question that has to be asked (And remains unanswered) is can the common man do a similar upgrade on the same bike but ON A BUDGET? I’m gonna do a video to answer that precise question based on the experience I’ve had upgrading my 2018 Giant Fathom E+3 29er HT (£1800). Watch this space!
@Brendan Tovey I hear you loud and clear but Decathlon wasn’t marketing this bike to the hardcore and experienced e-mtber. The price point of this bike was squarely aimed at those e-MTB virgins getting into the sport for the first time and those on a budget that could just about stretch to this full suss. I brought my entry level HT because it was a exercise in risk management. If it all went wrong, I could afford to take a hit on £1800 as opposed to £3K and even after 18 months of peddling, I’ve still spent less than £1k on upgrades. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. The TWO biggest things that you can’t readily change on a e-MTB without sending you to the poor house are the battery and the motor. My bike was shipped with a 400wh battery, which IMHO is only good for committing duties to and from work. It was a decision I have lived to regret.
@Brendan Tovey Well that’s where my late wife and I started ( in a small two bedroomed flat), so your analogy is smack on the money. Alas until the market for 2nd hand e-mtb’s stabilizes and comes with some kind of warranty and peace of mind for the buyer, I won’t be dipping my little piggy into that shark infested pond anytime soon. Irrespective whether you’re a newbie or an experienced rider, money is still the same and so it the pain when you’ve been given third degree burns.

I'd like that magic mary in 29er 2.6 but can't find it anywhere
Seems so much is sold out :-(
Order from Holland or Germany will be here in a few days. Thats what I did. UK stockers seem a little pathetic still behind the demand

You've transformed it into a beast! Great video. My bikes out of action for the foreseeable after finding a crack in the carbon frame yesterday. Gutted considering it's only a 1 month old ALLMTN 7. 😭
Hope they replaced your frame. Haibike are well off my radar since seeing all their reliability issues from people on TH-cam
Loving this bike, how do I find out when it will be available again please rob?
Great looking bike Rob, sort the calipers out though, those spacers and washers fill me with fear lol.
Yeah I keep meaning to sort that out 😂😂
When you selling it😉
So what did you spend on it?
Roughly worked out if its retail prices nearly 3 grand..plus cost of the bike originally
great job
What a project!
Been a good project bike to work on
Ha Rob, I requested this vid thanks for doing it Really enjoyed it, it’s always very interesting to hear. If you see a really cool bike you want to know what the rider has done.
It’s the on the mountain or in cafe mtb chat with another like minded mtb biker ✌️
You should partner up with on-one to design them a frame
Wish I had bought one when I had the chance
love it!
Give yr fork an upgrade of Smashpot and the world changes even with Boris and Donald still there :)
I bought an ebike with even worse geometry and upgraded it until it became a modern enduro downhill machine. Head tube Angle from 68 to 63.5 degrees (or 65 with 27,5 wheels) . 180mm travel upfront, mud tires. And I am a sender and it works great. Need a new shock but other than that, my bike rides really well
The cheap coil for 329 pounds only?
It is monthly salary for 50 % people in Europe . The world is crazy.
50% earn 329 a month... not sure where you get that statistics from
@@phantombigballs8165 eastern and southern Europe I know you live in better world but all these countries are EU.members...
And do you know that I.e Germans average work 9 months to buy VW golf and people living 500 km to the east 29 months?
Such situation creates emigration problem.
Sell me that bike Rob !
@Brendan Tovey would YOU buy (£3000) a used e-MTB full suss with no warranty on either the motor or battery? Ummmm!
Hello, nice report. Can I know the offset of Lyrik you choose ?
what spring adaptor you used for running that bomber shock?Cheers
