  • What's good y'll? Doing my Pros and Cons for Creech AFB. Searching on TH-cam no one has really taken the time to discuss this and considering that it is PCSing season I thought now would be a great opportunity to put out this video. For anyone who has been stationed here, the pros and cons I listed out are definitely nothing ground breaking and it's everything we all said and heard before. Overall, whether you love or hate Creech you got to appreciate, love, and Viva Las Vegas.
    CONS: The drive, limited food options, and the heat!
    PROS: The drive, the quiet, and everything that LV has to offer!

    Does Creech Air Force Base have or recruit Air National Guard member?

    • @ainako1010
      @ainako1010  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think we have a dedicated POC but I do know we have ANG and Reservist integrated within our units on station. And I know they do recruiting sessions like bi-annually or something. This is something you'd have to dig around for a little bit but I think you'll find an answer quickly.

    Boy times have changed I was stationed at This base when it was Indian Springs AFAF in 1986 as the base IDMT and lived on base when it had base housing had approximately 250 active duty plus dependents could not get any TV stations no cable

    • @ainako1010
      @ainako1010  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, you take visit of Centennial Hills & Sky Canyon to see how much was developed on the edge of North West Vegas. (Heck, my guess in 1986 there probably wasn't anything built north of Craig Street haha) Well, since your time at Creech we now have a Shoppette, Subway, Dining Facility, and Gym haha. But no base housing. Though a handful of folks do decide to live in Indians Springs while the rest of us commutes.

    Im getting stationed at creech afb. Im in tech school for security forces and have 5 weeks left. Are you security forces? And are the supervisors and people nice on creech? Im kinda worried my supervisors will be like MTIs lol.

    • @ainako1010
      @ainako1010  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm most definitely not SF lols. I think you'll be fine. But then again security forces life is pretty different in comparison to the rest of the operational air force. I'm sure by now you'll probably have a sponsor to direct your questions to. If not, I can ask around for you.

    Great video. Thank you for all the info. My wife just got orders to creech. We have kids and don't know if you know the answers to our questions but hopefully you do. 1. How is the housing out of base. Meaning how much is it to rent a house? Where are the good places to rent or buy a house? 2. I've heard good things about the school system there. But now sure where are they talking about. Any idea what towns have good schools? Those are the 2 major things that worry me as a spouse. Also what about the drive situation. How much do you spend driving back and forth? Is that something to get worried about? Thanks again for your video and info. 👍👍

    • @ainako1010
      @ainako1010  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for dropping by.
      1) Housing out of base is good depending where you look. I'd say stick to Aliante, Centennial Hills, Providence as these areas are relatively newer. Sky Canyon is the newest and closest area to Creech but I think it's a bit further from the rest of Vegas. For renting you're looking around $2100.
      2) I'd have to ask around and get back to you on the school stuff.
      3) So I end up filling up my tank about twice a week. Current gas prices are starting at $4. Again your unit should have some sort of carpool/vanpool options. But since it's just me, I'm not too hung up on it.

    • @jeffreyr.gonzalez849
      @jeffreyr.gonzalez849 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ainako1010 thanks for responding. We'll wait for your answer on the schools.
      Is the $2,100 an average for renting regardless of town?
      $4/gallon does sound pricey. Sounds like is cheaper to live closer to base but I guess it depends on the situation. Do you know anything about base housing?
      If the wait on the waiting list is long? Is it worth living g on base at Nellis?
      And it sounds like you love creech. Are all personal great to work with there? Thanks again for your help. Keep up the great work.

    What other bases can rpa sensor operators be stationed at?

    • @ainako1010
      @ainako1010  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Active Duty wise the main ones that comes to mind are Holloman (NM), Cannon (NM), Whiteman (MO), and I believe Shaw (SC). But there are also RPA units on the Air National Guard side.

    What are the details regarding the park and ride? I can't find anything online about it...

    • @ainako1010
      @ainako1010  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was there something specific you wanted to know? The park & ride is really just a meeting place. Each Squadron sets up their own van pool program which they can provide further details. Pro Tip: the park & ride doubles up as bus station. The CX line takes you the airport for $5 (1 way). So if you plan to take a trip you can leave your car at the park & ride with the trade off that the bus ride does take an hour with all the stops.
