1st January 1993, the day when Carlton Television took over from Thames. The Bill, still going strong at the time, even to this day was one of many programmes from the latter that ended on 31st December 1992. I also remember nearly all of the adverts including the Cadbury's Time Out one which is basically its version of Nestle's Kit Kat. I also remember watching Superman II that day.

I remember the BT's Beattie adverts as well as the Gold Blend ones with Sharon Maughan and Anthony Head and the Creature Comforts series ads for electricity that were shown at the time.

Thames as a broadcaster ceased to be on 31.12.92, but Thames continued as an independent programme maker, hence the Bill continued to be made, along with all of the other 'Thames' favourites. Some while ago Thames was amalgamated with 'Talkback' - hence you now see 'Talkback Thames' production after the Bill and other programmes. I am soi glad you remember the Ads, they are odd little films aren't they? Who can ever forget the 'Smash' ad for that horrible dried potato? 'BT's' Beattie Ads.

I wonder why they decided to have the Carlton ident overlay the Paramount one? You can just get a glimpse of the paramount ident at 5:47.
What I really hate about these idents is that the drone that accompanies them continues into the start of the program.

What's the music in the Harmony hair spray advert? It sounds very like the music from the Cadbury Twirl and McCain Oven Chips adverts from the same period
