btw...you can bring out ophion in raidraptors via arsenal falcon summoning fiend eagle instead of ultimate falcon (you get rid of the material using raider's wing), then you rank it up with launch (while still having access to the kali-yuga line), it decimates swordsoul, and despia (since they can't super poly it nor albaz it) and it cannot be kaiju'd or lava golem'd or sphere mode'd, it does nothing against link/xyz spam so it is less effective on MD's Bo1 format, but at that point you still have kali yuga, and if you are willing to play a brick, infestation pandemic protects it from lightning storm (because ophion's defense sucks) without having to use the other launch immediately (but then zeus can happen if you keep your stuff on defense so ultimate falcon is better there)
Quasar is certainly hard to bring out, but it fills a very niche role in junk speeder decks - its an omni negate that uses 3 monsters, thereby clearing up space for more doppel warrior tokens. If those decks didn't take like 27+ summons, it would be nice.
6:05 Ok, how would I translate those effects from the anime to the game? Just a bit of brainstorming… Needs three specific materials: Contact fusion. XYZ summon that also allows them to be used as materials in place of level 11 monsters. _You can special summon this card from your hand, deck or graveyard by tributing (Insert three materials here) from your hand or field (min. 1 on the field) Has to be destroyed thrice before leaving the field, and negates effects directed at it: _This card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effect each thrice per turn_ _Once per turn, when your opponent would target this card for card effects, you can target another applicable card on the field for that effect instead._ Can flood the field with water: _Once per turn you can flip all cards on the field facedown. Cards that are not flipped facedown by this effect are destroyed._ Shocks opponent literally: _Your opponent receives damage equal to the ATK of monsters this card destroys by battle or effect._
I'd say that's a pretty good interpretation of the effects. If it's an XYz monster I'd say to make it so each time it would be destroyed, detach one material from it. If it's a Fusion monster, you have to banish one of it's materials to protect it from destruction.
@@akiraishin7141 It could probably work as a ritual monster too who’s ritual revolves around the three cards as a side option to the normal ritual summon requirements
you target another card, heh, reminds me of patrician of darkness pretty good interpretation, but shouldn't it also destroy? if ya want to, you could make it an Xyz monster and make it explode when it runs out of materials, and detatch a material when it would be destroyed
Maybe make it an XYZ which gains effects for each of the pieces attached to it, so if it loses a material when preventing it's destruction, it loses the associated effect (eg: While this card has Suijin as an XYZ material, it gains the following effect: One per turn you can flip all monsters on the field except this one face down. Cards that are not flipped face down by this effect are destroyed) I think that's the closest to getting an anime accurate version. I once tried to make a Shooting Quasar Dragon turbo deck in Legacy of the Duelist until I realized the only thing turbo about it was how fast I would shame scoop because I ran out of steam mid-combo. Trying to get a synchro turner and two other non-tuner synchros on the field that equal level 12 was so inconsistent. @@juultoo Junk Speeder was great for getting the turners I needed but I think the choke point for me was getting the remaining non-tuners on field. It honestly might have just been inexperience with the deck or just bad deck building because that was the first full synchro deck I tried.

It pains me to see JD in F-tier but it's correct. It took me a long time to admit that in 8/10 games it's a brick that will never see the field and finally take it out of my Lightsworn Shaddoll deck
It seems like a good side option against slower decks or going 2nd and pair it with DRNM and hope they don't have a hand trap. Or...maybe Winged Dragon of Ra Sphere Mode would be easier?
I think if there was a way to guarantee more LS in the GY instead of by random, maybe it'd be good. It isn't searchable by Melody, but was very nice when Eclipse Wyvern was legal. The Judgment/Punishment Dragon support sadly is quite lacking. There needs to be a field Spell or some card that can add a LS from the deck to the hand, and if you have 4+ LS in your GY and/or Banished, add 1 level 8 Dragon from your deck to your hand. (Banish this card to add 1 LS from your GY/Banished to your hand).
Really liked this tier list -- Galaxy, Armed Dragon and others were missing but hey! It's not big surprise that S tier are the banned cards, except for Zeus.
Imagine an AAA-zeus which forces your opponent to banish all cards on their field facedown, which would get around protection and newer floating effects which actually do get triggered by zeus even though it is non-destruction removal.

This card gains 250 ATK/DEF for each zombie and fiend monster in the GY. Once per turn (quick effect) you can change the original type of this card in your hand, field or GY to Zombie or fiend. Once per turn, you can tribute a card you control on the field whose original ATK or DEF is 1500 or less; special summon as many monsters with the same name as the tributed monster as possible from your hand or GY, but (Excluding “Summoned Skull” or “Skull Servant” monsters) until your next turn their effects are negated and they cannot attack._ ATK/2500 DEF/1200
Pretty strange you would retrain Summoned Skull to being Skull Servant Support (doing so also links Red-Eyes and DM to Skull Servants...it seems pretty strange to introduce into another bricky deck). It's missing a summoning condition regardless...being another level 6 isn't helping either deck much. I guess you can go into Ultimaya Tzolkin since it is strangely a tuner. It's so random, that I can see Konami doing this.
@@Goblin_Hands There’s logic in it, I swear: It started off with some wordplay…. _Summoned_ *Skull,* *Skull* _Servant…_ Throw in the “Archfiend” keyword and make its name count as its inspiring cards and this one card gains a diverse amount of intersecting support… Which is important since it has a retuned “Inferno Reckless Summon” built in. So it could tribute itself to summon more itself, “Summoned Skull”s and skull servants from the hand, and practically the entire “wight” archetype from the GY. And to top it off it’d be a _high level tuner_ in multiple archetypes that really don’t have too many tuners in general, so it could be used in a generous amount of Synchro plays. And of course it counts as a “Skull Servant” in the GY, so that’s another 3000 ATK for “King of the skull servants”, from a card that could tribute itself to get it out of the GY in a pinch. It’s purposely a bit random and chaotic to tap into as much potential as I could think of. I _did_ just read a couple of typos though, so I’ll fix those up quick
Id love a tier list of the difference in viability between Master Duel and Duel Links. Basically the higher the jump in viability between MD and DL the higher the tier.
Gonna be honest, ranking the boss monsters to how powerful they are now as opposed to their peak is very boring At least, I think that was the logic? It's hard to tell with some of these because Colossus is like C tier lol. And Dragon Buster is F tier for sure
S Tier makes some kind of sense to me. ABC and Guru is somehow above Dragoon, DPE, Ultimateness, Mechaba, Winda, etc even though it's barely relevant again because of Therions. Guru control? I will say Colossus is OP for being splashable in Prank-Kids, but should probably come off the banlist and probably A class. It has a devasting effect, but is very similar to Dark Law, being useless going 2nd compared to something like Dragoon, which I don't know how it isn't up there with Zeus, but is still good enough to win games by itself and has protection.

winda only having 2200atk is its biggest downside. you can just run over it befor making your plays and there are many boss monsters that can hit the field with only a single summon.
I'm not surprised that xyz monsters takes up more than half of the s tier... it's crazy how you could easily summon extra deck monsters with decent to nigh unbeatable effects with just generic low level monsters (lvl's 1-4)... and the fact that you could summon it on top of another xyz monster is scary...
I'm a little surprised Sheou is F tier, Omni negate and a free revival every standby phase? I'd say that's at least C tier, especially when it swaps to house, if you're in a good position with lots of dragon maid swaps you can get a lot of destruction for free
Sheou is great, but only if your opponent is stupid and doesn't Imperm/Widow Anchor her in Draw Phase. I really wish dragonmaids had a permanent source of targeting protection, Welcome's floating effect is garbage.
@@mateusrp1994 true, welcome's float sucks, the damage increase is alright though Tbf they have to have those kid of outs to do that kinda thing, not everyone's running sky striker, and if they have imperm they probably would have used it before Sheou
I can't really agree with all of these being boss monsters, although this certainly has to do with the term being incredibly vague. The best definition I can come up with for my personal view point is that a boss monster is a monster that has a largely central point in an archetype's/deck's game plan. This can mean that it generates a ton if advantage like bujin Yamato or forces the game to be played around its existence like Kashtira Arise-heart or Scareclaw Tri-heart. There are some exceptions to these rules, but that mostly comes down to cards like AA Zeus. It's not part if any specific archetype, but it still demands complete and total respect for it when it hits the board. Ultimately though, my reasoning will come down to a case by case basis where some things may or may not count based solely on whether it feels like it's a boss monster or not.
I think Shooting Majestic is a better boss monster than Quasar personally. Easier to negate Quasar's setup and floating into Shooting Stardust isn't nearly as strong as it used to be, not to mention how easy it is to miss it's timing. SM's effect monster negate bypasses all protection, on top of it's insanely strong omni-negate banishing targets preventing potential graveyard effects.
@@genesisera8364 Eh, kinda. He's not as clear a win conditions as many people think. It's more like VW has multiple boss monsters for the occasion. Cause Final Sigma can almost win you games on its own. The same can be true of VFD, but his lack of protection, and limitation to one copy, means you need more than just him to really put up a fight.
Too few of a tier list to go instantly to F from C. I'd think: D: Bujin Yamato, Cyber Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, Judgment Dragon, Quasar, Firewall, Dante, Tiaramisu, Ophion, Supernova E: Summoned Skull, King of the Skull Servants, Exterio, Geh, CED, Obelisk, God Slime, First Darklord, Great Magnus, Z-ARC, Megaclops, Arrival F: Vampire Lord, Airknight Parshath, Gate Guardian, BEUD, Necross

This card's ATK is equal to the combined ATK, and its DEF is equal to the combined DEF, of all monsters Tributed for this card's Summon. Once while this card is face up on the field, negate the first effect that would affect it.
@@Necroxion I like it, but you need to clean up the card text a little:
_Archfiend Maju Oblation_ (DARK)
Level 12
Fiend/effect
_This Cards Normal Summon is unaffected by card effects. You can normal summon this card without tributing, but it’s ATK/DEF are halved. (Quick effect) You can special summon this card from your (hand or GY) by tributing all monsters you control OR all spell and trap cards you control. This cards ATK and DEF is equal to the combined ATK and DEF each of all monsters tributed by this effect, and this card cannot be destroyed by opponents card effects per turn X the number of spell/trap cards tributed by this effect. Once while this card is face up on the field, you can negate the first effect that would affect it.
ATK/ 3000 DEF/2000
btw...you can bring out ophion in raidraptors via arsenal falcon summoning fiend eagle instead of ultimate falcon (you get rid of the material using raider's wing), then you rank it up with launch (while still having access to the kali-yuga line), it decimates swordsoul, and despia (since they can't super poly it nor albaz it) and it cannot be kaiju'd or lava golem'd or sphere mode'd, it does nothing against link/xyz spam so it is less effective on MD's Bo1 format, but at that point you still have kali yuga, and if you are willing to play a brick, infestation pandemic protects it from lightning storm (because ophion's defense sucks) without having to use the other launch immediately (but then zeus can happen if you keep your stuff on defense so ultimate falcon is better there)
Quasar is certainly hard to bring out, but it fills a very niche role in junk speeder decks - its an omni negate that uses 3 monsters, thereby clearing up space for more doppel warrior tokens. If those decks didn't take like 27+ summons, it would be nice.
Shooting Majestic is still the stronger option. Barron + Red Hot + Shooting Majestic and you're golden. Quasar is just an option if you can't pull SM.
"Oh that one's pretty good. F tier"
6:05
Ok, how would I translate those effects from the anime to the game? Just a bit of brainstorming…
Needs three specific materials: Contact fusion. XYZ summon that also allows them to be used as materials in place of level 11 monsters. _You can special summon this card from your hand, deck or graveyard by tributing (Insert three materials here) from your hand or field (min. 1 on the field)
Has to be destroyed thrice before leaving the field, and negates effects directed at it: _This card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effect each thrice per turn_ _Once per turn, when your opponent would target this card for card effects, you can target another applicable card on the field for that effect instead._
Can flood the field with water: _Once per turn you can flip all cards on the field facedown. Cards that are not flipped facedown by this effect are destroyed._
Shocks opponent literally: _Your opponent receives damage equal to the ATK of monsters this card destroys by battle or effect._
I'd say that's a pretty good interpretation of the effects. If it's an XYz monster I'd say to make it so each time it would be destroyed, detach one material from it. If it's a Fusion monster, you have to banish one of it's materials to protect it from destruction.
@@akiraishin7141
It could probably work as a ritual monster too who’s ritual revolves around the three cards as a side option to the normal ritual summon requirements
you target another card, heh, reminds me of patrician of darkness
pretty good interpretation, but shouldn't it also destroy?
if ya want to, you could make it an Xyz monster and make it explode when it runs out of materials, and detatch a material when it would be destroyed
The other two i suppose is that it attaches them as equips to itself or has the effects whilst they're in the graveyard and you can banish one to prevent destruction.
@@killerjakee5808
All those effects may be cumbersome to put on Gate Guardian itself. How about _This card can also use 1 each of 1 "Sanga of the Thunder", "Kazejin", and "Suijin" as XYZ materials, and if you do this card gains their effects only whilst they are attached to this card. When this card would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can detach 1 material; it is not destroyed. Once per turn you can banish facedown this card you control on the field without materials to special summon 1 1 "Sanga of the Thunder", "Kazejin", and "Suijin", that are banished or in the GY._
And then you’d have retains for "Sanga of the Thunder", "Kazejin", and "Suijin" that are based off what each component contributed to gate guardian in the anime, I.E; Suijin flood/flips and/or destroys the field, Sanga deflects effects, ect… On top of improved versions of their actual card game effects.
_Sanga Of The Storm_ (LIGHT)
Level 7
Thunder/Tuner/Effect
_This card’s name is also “Sanga Of The Thunder” while in your hand, GY or on the field. You can special or tribute summon this card from your hand or GY by tributing 1 LIGHT Thunder monster you control on the field. WIND Spellcaster and AQUA Water monsters you own require one less tribute to tribute summon while this card is face-up on the field. When this card battles another monster, that monsters ATK/DEF becomes 0. When this card destroys a monster by battle your opponent takes damage equal to that monsters ATK._
ATK/2600 DEF/2200
And then the other two follow the same pattern as above, just swap out relevant keywords here and there and leave the last effect for what will be copied for the XYZ gate guardian.
Imagine a 3500ATK Wyrm that's immune to every other car effect and has the effect "Each player can only control 1 Type of monster."
Everytime I make Blazar or Quasar Dragon my opponent always opens with a Kaiju.
I guess that's techinically a good thing though because it would be a better Borreload Savage Dragon and that card sees play in any deck that can make use of it.
Junk Speeder made going into Quasar way easier, although now there's Blazar which is arguably better.
Yeah, Junk Speeder basically lets you get whatever non-archetype or Synchron syncho you want and much more.
@@juultoo Junk Speeder was great for getting the turners I needed but I think the choke point for me was getting the remaining non-tuners on field. It honestly might have just been inexperience with the deck or just bad deck building because that was the first full synchro deck I tried.
Ah, back in our time we had mega busted card like level eater which made everything so much easier.
Vampire lord is one of my favorite cards ever, too bad that play style does more harm than good with all the graveyard effects now
I disagree about Sheou being F tier,. She's a C tier at best and S tier in my heart.
3.5K atk beatstick omni negate free summon on either standby phase and it's "cost" to negate makes it go in to house dragon maid that's a 3K atk beatstick with a pop effect and a slightly weaker standby summon effect.
Yeah that's bullshit it's definitely A tier or higher everything else is cap
No ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense and Brick-eyes Blue dragon...
"this card changed how we played: F tier"
"Lol beatstick go brrrr: C tier"

I’d retrain this card to something long the lines of…
_Archfiend Summoned Skull Servant_
Level 6
Zombie/Tuner/Effect
_The name of this card on your field or in your hand or GY is also treated as “Summoned Skull” and “Skull Servant”. This card gains 250 ATK/DEF for each zombie and fiend monster in the GY. Once per turn (quick effect) you can change the original type of this card in your hand, field or GY to Zombie or fiend. Once per turn, you can tribute a card you control on the field whose original ATK or DEF is 1500 or less; special summon as many monsters with the same name as the tributed monster as possible from your hand or GY, but (Excluding “Summoned Skull” or “Skull Servant” monsters) until your next turn their effects are negated and they cannot attack._
ATK/2500 DEF/1200
Pretty strange you would retrain Summoned Skull to being Skull Servant Support (doing so also links Red-Eyes and DM to Skull Servants...it seems pretty strange to introduce into another bricky deck). It's missing a summoning condition regardless...being another level 6 isn't helping either deck much. I guess you can go into Ultimaya Tzolkin since it is strangely a tuner. It's so random, that I can see Konami doing this.
@@Goblin_Hands
There’s logic in it, I swear:
It started off with some wordplay….
Very based
Now make the same list, but tier list the boss monsters for the time they came out rather than current era yugioh
I would argue that some of those are playmaker and not boss monsters, like guru
Unizombie is a boss monster
It amazes me how bad is duel logs at pronouncing card names when that's his job, like what the hell was that Toadally Awesome pronunciation
Id love a tier list of the difference in viability between Master Duel and Duel Links.
Basically the higher the jump in viability between MD and DL the higher the tier.
Can’t believe the DuelLogs didn’t mention shapesnatch, the most supported card in Yu-Gi-Oh!
Gonna be honest, ranking the boss monsters to how powerful they are now as opposed to their peak is very boring
At least, I think that was the logic?
I think nowadays is better turbo out Susanoo from the extra deck than normal summon Yamato and pass.
It took me 30min to realize there was no D tier
Hello DuelLogs, from the Duel Logs.
Could you do another engine explaination of either the Adventurer engine or the Despia engine, knowing what cards I would need to put them in my deck, as well as counters if I see them in the wild is really useful information.
I am starting to feel like the logs has a sheer dislike akin to extreme hate against superheavy's
as he should
Superheavies just don’t do enough to justify ditching spell/trap support

It still baffles me how anyone thought Shock Master was ok. There's nothing ok about it.
Can't believe he stuck Winda in C tier, i'm shidding and crying
I've played Winda. If your opponent has no negates it can be good, but I find Winda being destroyed pretty quickly more often than not. Most people know to get rid of it quickly.
winda only having 2200atk is its biggest downside.
you can just run over it befor making your plays and there are many boss monsters that can hit the field with only a single summon.
We need a update to this, with every boss monster up until now
Man i want to play Shockmaster so much

I'm a little surprised Sheou is F tier, Omni negate and a free revival every standby phase? I'd say that's at least C tier, especially when it swaps to house, if you're in a good position with lots of dragon maid swaps you can get a lot of destruction for free
Yeah these don't seem very well thought out
Sheou is great, but only if your opponent is stupid and doesn't Imperm/Widow Anchor her in Draw Phase. I really wish dragonmaids had a permanent source of targeting protection, Welcome's floating effect is garbage.
I earlier found out you can even BattlePhase Transform Chamber into Sheou when she was properly brought out and is now in your GY.
@@mateusrp1994 true, welcome's float sucks, the damage increase is alright though
Tbf they have to have those kid of outs to do that kinda thing, not everyone's running sky striker, and if they have imperm they probably would have used it before Sheou
@@NoraNoita I do that if Sheou gets Kaiju'ed. It rarely happens though.
He only ranked Madolche Queen Tiaramisu low because Madolche Petingcessoeur is the real Boss Monster.
Where's my girl Virtual World Kyubi Shenshen?
isn’t Virtual World’s boss monster just VFD
@@genesisera8364 Eh, kinda. He's not as clear a win conditions as many people think. It's more like VW has multiple boss monsters for the occasion. Cause Final Sigma can almost win you games on its own. The same can be true of VFD, but his lack of protection, and limitation to one copy, means you need more than just him to really put up a fight.
Too few of a tier list to go instantly to F from C. I'd think:
D: Bujin Yamato, Cyber Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, Judgment Dragon, Quasar, Firewall, Dante, Tiaramisu, Ophion, Supernova
E: Summoned Skull, King of the Skull Servants, Exterio, Geh, CED, Obelisk, God Slime, First Darklord, Great Magnus, Z-ARC, Megaclops, Arrival
F: Vampire Lord, Airknight Parshath, Gate Guardian, BEUD, Necross
