Im so glad it was helpfull!! Yeah i understand its quite a hard part of the exam! If youre stll revising for the ucat you can email me and i can help if you need it!! Soon youll be finished with it though, then youll never have to think about it again! LOL
hi shiv! this was so so helpful :) i had a couple of questions regarding AR prep - my UCAT is coming up in ~2 weeks, and I basically have my VR, DM and QR (and SJT - but aussie med schools don't really look at that) down, averaging about 700-750 for VR, 700-900 for DM (Medify only gives you a range, and i've been consistently getting 700-900) and 850-900 in QR BUT my single downfall has been AR - my score fluctuates a lot from 600-700, and it's really hard to get over 750. I'm feeling quite stressed, because most aussie med schools give interview offers based on the UCAT and so you need a 95th%+ (in aus/nz percentiles, not uk - which I found to be higher??) to be "safe". I've already done quite a few full mocks (~15) and I always reflect on my AR score, but I never seem to improve in finding patterns quickly. I find that I tend to get overwhelmed really easily, dismiss a potential pattern (which sometimes ends up being correct) for being too "simple", or just straight up cannot link the multiple things that I presume to be a pattern (e.g. colour + shape, arrowheads + colours + shape, orientation + colour + no. of sides, etc.). If you have ANY TIPS on how to effectively prepare for AR, I would appreciate it SO SO much. I'm looking to get 750+ so that my total score would be 3100+ (3200+ hopefully!!) in the real exam.
@@Inposedd hi diana! I ended up with a ~98th% (aus 2021 stats) :) If I'm being honest, QR was consistently my best section so I'm not really sure what advice to give you... but here are some tips (?) anyway! - Read the question FIRST before the data. Sometimes, so much data is given and only a tiny bit is necessary to actually answer the question. Don't get overwhelmed with the QR data representation before reading the question. - After you read the qs, think critically about what info is given to you, why it is given and what you can do with it. E.g. if the question asks for how many min it takes to get from A to B and you are given a speed and a time, you should know what to do with the data. This links to --> - Important conversions! know them by heart, e.g. speed, % chance, original price, no. of weeks in a year and no. of cards in a deck. I recommend you learn how to calculate tax, because it can be confusing. - Stick to your timing, i.e. be consistent and be harsh when you have exceeded the time limit per question. Don't try to get everything right, because that's hard - you should maximise the no. of marks you can get by doing the easier qs if you don't get something.
I think there are definitely sections which can be helpful for pass medicine but i think if you want to use the best resources. - i have this video (th-cam.com/video/EceI_6tPZSk/w-d-xo.html) on my channel which goes through the best paid and free resources, including talking about which ones are representative of the actual ucat!
Thanks so much for this video I struggled so much with Abstract Reasoning

do you need to pay for the cheat sheet
Hey, the old ones were free but the new ones are updated and digitised so its £3.50 :)
