Glad to hear people talking about this, especially in terms of gameplay and immersion. There are many ways to include these in your maps. I heavily recomend watching some videos about game design as making a piggy build mode map is almost like making your own game.
I'm currently thinking of a series where the player hallucinates and sees the world as some twisted nightmare, like as you'll see in Distorted Memory or Distraction. Any ideas?
Other things to note: I don't want to use the same 'Piggy patrols and when he finds you, ya better run', I want them to be on the paranormal side, where you have to play by their rules and use the environments to your advantage. Like, in a Victorian-esque building, you could have closets to hide, and you have audio cues that let you know, but you also have obstacles that can attract them so you have to put it back together. What are tricks TH-camrs that you recommend I watch to learn how to create more complex puzzles and designs, and what are things you recommend I should do? This focuses on paranormal, psychological horror, meaning I should focus on making it a story of the player's trauma and the uncanny things they have gone through. EDIT: This comment is old. I don't really have the motivation now; I'm just building a Spongebob horror instead lol
Build mode player: Building Carver’s ambience: HELO (For context, Carver’s theme is playing on loop in some random spot near spawn, in 2 areas apparently, this has been in the game for over a year)
1 tip. If the map is an overused theme make it cool in other ways. 1 way I did this in my warehouse map was add 2 more themed areas a sewers and a small lab. You could also abandon keys and use generators for everything. This works until they power off btw
Yeah I mainly add a sewers or inside/outiside parts to my maps to give it a nice touch. You only spend about a minute in those parts but it works suprisingly well.
Huge props to you for making such wonderful tutorial, Im sure this will help me on future projects! TIPS: I generally listen to music when building, it makes the building process less boring and can sometimes motivate me to keep going.
What I struggle with most is the door and item placement. I don’t just want it to be linear, I want it to branch off and have a few items lying around.
VERY HELPFUL! I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! +1 SUBSCRIBER! THE LAYOUTS WERE VERY HELPFUL! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! This might be one of the most helpful and relatable videos I have watched! These tutorials give me more motivation. I am currently making a beach. These tutorials helped me
im currently making a theater map. i just recently did a theatrical play 2 months ago and i love it! im basing my map off of that same theater and im currently creating custom events like the puddle event. i know no one asked for my story, nor does the map seem that interesting, but i just wanted to share it
its hard to build cuz mostly the tools in build mode is not enough like you can literally only rotate to four sides because it adds more detailed when items are a lil tilted but the build mode don't have that feature. Another thing is they don't have a feature to group things, and also a feature that copies another grouped things to make building easier. And a lot of things are square like its hard to make a detailed map with only squares and triangles.
I made a map that is a city but its a zombir apocalypse with multiple modes and a bunch of areas and a link that makes moss slowly grow on the buildings as time goes on its my favorite map i made!
3:29 dont make maps too linear either (unless you're not going for a natural look), it makes the map feel boring and repetitive. Do add backtracking, just not too much.
0:43 i have been a fan of ships (oceanliners) asoon i saw the titanic, but i knew it was a massive map for it soo i decided to do a shipwreck, titanic's shipwreck, and only took 2 hours to build it, it IS inaccurate sadly. Ill be looking forward to do the FULL titanic using these tricks, complicated, but not impossible.
I'm making a Distorted Past map, that you will pass trought parts of all Book 2 maps (no extra chapters) sentinels, TIO and the chapter's bots will be chasing you
When i saw Canva, I got excited! This PFP of mine was made with Canva! Most of my pictures for my videos are made with Canva! Canva shouldn't ONLY be with piggy layouts, But for your projects too! It's so easy to use!
I'm making a hyper-accurate Among Us map. It is almost completely finished, it looks and functions extremely similar to the real Among Us map. I'm hoping I'll be able to publish it on my channel (if I'm allowed to)!
one thing i dont understand about build mode is that when i see other builds from different youtube videos, they have some block that could be used by everyone that isnt in the build mode blocks and i just go: "they must have made it themselves then!" and when i try to replicate it to see if it actually works, it doesnt. How do people add that much detail into their builds? When i try similar things, they dont even work. And some builds even have some blocks that are moved by half a block in them, but you can only move blocks by one block, not half. In general, i just dont understand how people make very detailed maps like minitoon and other piggy map builders. When i try to make something like that, i physically cant. Or at least it feels like it. How do people do it?
I've been working on a project of mine that i call the "Coalmine". I have tons of fun and different ideas for lore, layout,et,but I've been lacking motivation and i feel like the map foesnt look very good/professional,do you guys have any tips for an abondoned coalmine with a completely hidden haunted underground area?
I'm making a warehouse map But even if I use offsets It seems laggy, I don't know if it's because I don't set the offsets correctly or because I play on a Mobile

@@gojoseph2284 Ngl I would love to help you with this once I figure out how we can make it
I have an idea how about the players in a house and they go through a long dark hallway and sees a monster at the end of the tunnel
Yeah but how will you make distorted terrain?
I can make 2 types related:
1. Glitched
2. Rough.
Maybe combine both to make it.? Tell my your Roblox account or if u have Discord and we can discuss.

I listened to music while I made the ITS storyline and making the maps. It really helped me get the vibe I was looking for the map. It really helps!
