I just have to share with you how much this video helped me. I am 61 with the beginning stages of dementia. I use to be able to pick up any pattern and create. Now the written patterns seem a lot confusion in my brain. I was able to watch your video going forward then back watching you and I successfully made 3 sets of gloves. I was struggling with making a scarf before as my brain couldn’t remember how to end and turn. Thank you so much. I also loved your teenage Daughter laughing and you be a good Mum laughing. Please make more videos. I would appreciate any videos you make. Happy hooking.......❤️
Loved reading this... I hope you're still doing well, since this comment is from a year ago. This comment has got me thinking about doing detail crochet videos myself.
I love the look of these. I am using Lion Landscapes, which calls for a 6.5 hook, so I had to do less stitches. I did 23, to have multiples of 4 for the fan. I have yet to complete that pair as it is a bit large. So, I used 6 and went with 25 stitches, still a bit big but manageable and got to the fans and got a bit lost but then I ran into a knot in the yarn that completely messed up the color gradient. So, I started again, this time with a 5 hook and 25 stitches and it is perfect. Just snug enough, and now we will see how the fan works. I did 8 DC rows...and will increase from here. Row 9, I did ch3, dc in the same stitch. Then I increased on the 5th stitch, so 4 dc, then increase for 5th and 6th. Then 7,8,9,10 increase 11 and 12...gave me 28. then I can follow pattern as written even with the thicker yarn and 5 hook. maybe? We will see....pending future edits. I will finish both pairs of gloves in the two sizes. This note is mostly for myself, as I intend to make more pairs with various yarns.
Thank you a lot for this video! I'm a French speaker and this video was so easy to follow that I made gloves for my 94 years old grandma! Your accent is wonderful, we can really well see the stitches, and it was fun to do and redo! I guess my wool was a bit small, so I had to add a fan to have gloves large enough to fit her, but they ended up quite nice and she loved them even before I was done! Thank you again for your amazing work ❤
Thanks for the great video Robin, I have just finished my first glove. Watching you has rekindled my love of crochet so thank you for all your hard work involved in the making of the videos. You are an excellent teacher and explain everything so clearly. This pattern definitely challenged me as all I have done before were Granny Squares so I am glad I managed it, couldn't have done it without you
Modified this pattern a little with a ribbed stitch cuff on shorter gloves. Thanks for showing how to do the shell stitches- the visual and guide in connecting them was super helpful. My aunt is gonna love them!
Thank you for generously sharing your time and experience. Being a novice at crochet, I really appreciate videos like yours that are so clear and easy to follow. ❤
Indeed, Robin, I've searched for THE right fingerless gloves and with your tutorial I was able to "get it!" Elegance and class define the gloves created for us all. Thank you for this beautiful pattern!
Your fsc tutorial was brilliant. I've looked at tutorials on it and not had a clue. Your video showed it so clearly and I wasn't even expecting to learn fsc. Thank you!
I think it's adorable that you left your teen's shenanigans in this video as it makes it more personable! Thank you so much for the tutorial as I am a visual learner. I have been able to learn from you, create, sell, and support my family.
WOW! You made this so easy...thanks. They're too small for me but my neighbor will be getting a surprise gift for all the times she's cooked me food while she was was doing her weekly cooking. Best Cook and Neighbor ever. I'll up the hook size next time I make them for me...lol.
These fingerless gloves are absolutely gorgeous! I used Red Heart unforgettable and everyone who sees them wants a pair. I am working on my third pair and the 4th pair hopefully will be mine :) Thank you kindly for this wonderful pattern and concise instructions.
I love this glove, enjoy real life intrudes of your precious teenage daughter, thanks for real crochet lesson . Keep smiling , well done. I'm with you on nervous about showing others how to crochet and I'm a grandma been crocheting since junior school lol Kind regards swift hug from chilly north of uk :-) *
Sue Smart hooray for a fellow odd yarn holder! I've never been able to hold my yarn in the fancy schmancy way others can my yarn just kinda hangs down! 😂

I just loved this pattern, you are so easy to listen to and you are fantastic as showing all the stitches. My most favorite part is this video was created when I was actually living in England so listening to your voice just made me miss England even more ❤
I’m from the USA and just love your accent!! This was an easy tutorial to follow and I loved the part with your daughter. You made this video relatable for the rest of us moms and the instructions were easy to follow along with 😊💜
I love your videos! I always learn so much from them. Will use the chainless foundation forever now. Also makes such a pleasant change to hear an English voice. Keep up the most excellent work! xx
I just made my first pair, I’ve also made the fantail shell scarf, I have to tell you I love watching your videos, you really take you time to show step by step, your patterns are absolutely beautiful I can’t wait to start the puff stitch fingerless gloves. And I also have a very discussing teenage daughter and son as well..lol
I've been meaning to make these forever and just got around to them! Tutorial was very easy to follow and the gloves came out great! I shortened the "cuff" bit (only five rows of single crochet) and added a few extra rows at the end to cover more of my palm. I can't wait to wear them!
In the written version it says 'do not turn' at the end of row 19 when you actually do turn. Glad there's a video to guide us too. 👍 I really love these gloves - I'm making a bunch of them just now. 🥰
Oh Robin! Thank you so very much! I absolutely LOVED your tutorial! You did very well as I was able to follow along beautifully. Watching you work your stitches was so much easier than me trying to follow the written pattern. I have some difficulty reading and following patterns and get confused easily. So I am a visual learner and do much better watching tutorials with new patterns. But I must say that you are an excellent teacher! 🤗 Thank you! Hopefully, my sister in law will love her new gloves. 😊
Me too! It is always so much easier to learn visually like you said, I am so glad my video helped and I am sure your sister in law will love her new gloves.😀🧶 x
Loved it. I'm about to start 2nd pair. I've got a grandgirl and Daughter in law that also want a pair. First pair was for a grandgirl. You are very pleasant and easy to follow. Thank you so much! I' ve just been crocheting a short time.

I'm still a beginner, but when I saw these gloves I just had to make them. Your tutorial was so easy to follow! I was so relieved when it was finally finished. Everytime I thought we were almost done you would say "turn your work" and I would silently say "damn it 😩" but the end product is worth it
@@sekai123 honestly I'm not sure, I didn't really pay attention to the time. I worked on them rather late at night, and I didn't start the other one till the next day. I would say a really rough guesstimate of maybe 2-3 hours counting breaks and stuff, and that's just for one glove.
Thank you so much Robin, I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and inspiring project. I absolutely ❤❤❤❤❤ love your work and tutorials too. And I ❤❤❤❤❤ love that yarn too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤
The combination of your voice and the jovial background music is very soothing for my anxiety. I hope to attempt this pattern when I'm a bit more confident in my skills. Bless you.
You have a beautiful voice, clear instructions, a very normal family, lol, and beautiful hands. You should not be self conscious. I so enjoyed your video. My daughter is goofy too, so it just endeared me even more to your video. I love these gloves !!! Look forward to more pretty items you will instruct us on.😁
Fingerless gloves are the bomb! This video is great ... you DO have a life! 😉Since my niece lives in a warm climate I crocheted this pattern with crochet thread "Fashion 3" using your hook recommendation. This resulted in a most delightful lacy effect and I am in love with these gloves. Your video is GREAT ... keep up the good tutorials. Thank you!
Your Fantail fingerless gloves are the best! I did them in black for a friend of mine and they look so fancy on the hand. I’m so glad I found your tutorial, I cant’t stop doing them. Awesome!
Thank you soo much for posting this tutorial.. it was soo clear and easy to follow.. I learnt all my crochet from TH-cam and the terms were always USA.. this really helped.. By the way I'm 37 and I have freakishly small hands too.. Thank you again.. Luv from London UK xxx
These are my first wearables in crochet. The first glove took me probably over two hours. I had to pause, rewatch, pause, rewatch and so much frogging. By my second glove, I did much better. Now I'm on my fourth glove and I'm a pro. I can keep up with you for the most part. You are a bit faster than me, especially at the shells but it's not too bad! I would recommend going up a size hook on the foundation row personally and I only did 6 rows before the shells. The trickiest part for me was the foundation row for some reason and making sure it had enough stitches. I ended up putting a place marker every 10 stitches and that helped a lot.
Hi. I made one it was very pretty to put on . U r teaching each step patiently even though it repeats. Thank you for ur patients. Upload videos like this so v can learn from you. Thank you once again.
Amazing way to teach with so much patience. I did finish my first glove and I love it. I will follow you with more tutorials. Keep up your lovely work. Greetings from Argentina
Your pattern is the first one I've ever been able to follow and it not look like the spagetti monster :) I used the hayfield spirit chunky in sundown and it's so pretty! Thank you so much!
Hi Robin, Just wanted to say a huge thank you for sharing all your lovely work. Your tutorials are so easy to follow and I have successfully managed to make the gloves after years of not crocheting. You have inspired me to pick up my hook again and bust through my stash of wool that I had packed away. Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💔.
Thank you for the clear instructions, I made these and they turned out beautiful. I love the fast pace because I can pause the instructions and follow you just fine but it encourages me to get the project done. Thanks again for your help.
Robin, THANK YOU for this lovely pattern and tutorial. I have made two pairs (one in Red Heart Unforgettable Dragonfly and the other in Caron Simply Soft Victorian Rose) and love them both. I'm almost sad about giving them away but am sure they'll make lovely gifts. I'm making your matching scarf next (in the Victorian Rose), and I'm sure it will be spectacular. Thanks again!
Lovely pattern and the video was easy enough to understand even for an adventurous beginner. I’ve made my first mitt stopping and starting the video as I worked along with you. Thank you!
I loved the pattern' very easy to do. I have done a pair for my daughter, one pair for a friend birthday and now doing the third pair for a birthday too...
wow wonderful .was so easy to follow you .i was amazed how mine turned out just like yours. i'm a beginner and you are so great , please don't stop making teaching crocheting items
I've been crocheting since I was a child and I loved your video!!! I was able to crochet right along with you as you went and it was perfectly timed. The only pause I had to do was to catch up on the first seven rows of doubles. Will definitely be making multiple pairs. PS....your voice is perfect! And so is your daughter. Lol
I think you did a fantastic job in showing how to make these beautiful gloves I was able to follow along with no problems! thank you for sharing I love them!!!
Thank you so very much. I am a relative beginner not having picked up a hook since my childhood when my grandmother taught me some of the basics. I have done a couple of projects and wanted to do this shell pattern. You were so very thorough that it made relatively easy. My one critique would be to slow the pace down as new instructions are given. I found I was having to back up the video a lot as I would fall behind and miss the next step. (I did not mind the speed up as we were doing the repetitive rows.)
Laura Taylor hopefully I've rectified my speed on my other videos - I think I was super nervous for this one as it was my first and I do tend to rush and panic a bit 😂 Glad you still managed to follow along! Xx
Excellent tutorial, really well explained and could clearly see where to put the fiddly stitches. I crocheted along with you and finished my first glove. Now for the next one :)
It would be absolutely amazing to have a matching ear warmer and/or scarf to make a pretty set. I am not talented enough to figure out how to do that, but as a suggestion. I made the fantail shawl for a friend of mine and that is why I jumped on this wrist warmer pattern. Love it!
Love how you are explaining things step by step. I followed along but made it slightly bigger and it was still too small. Would love to know how to adjust this pattern to a wider hand and how would you crochet if you wanted the thumb to also be covered half way?
I made one! I actually started the scarf before this (haven't finished it yet), but I'm glad I did, because it made doing this much easier. This was pretty easy to follow and you did a good job of explaining things. :) Thank you so much for sharing! I'll be making the second glove tomorrow!
I just love this pattern, I used Bernat Baby Velvet in Misty Gray and they look like ice. They make a great christmas présent and thank you so much for your tutorial! Oh...your daughter is adorable by the way, lol! Happy holidays! 😀
Hi there ; I want to thank you very for the pattern which is a very awesome stitch . I hope that you keep making these videos on crocheting. They are very beautiful pattern stitches. So Thank you again.
Thank you for such a beautiful pattern. I have made a pair of these for 2 of my friends and will be making myself some as well. I'm not a talented crocheter, but you made it so simple to follow that, although it took me a while, both pairs look stunning. Thank you so much. Happy Christmas x
You’re so welcome Rose and time doesn’t matter, as long as you enjoyed making them.😃 Thank you for the Christmas wishes too, I am getting my tree up soon! Have a wonderful Christmas.🎄
omg, im making these for my mom for christmas and i love it, soooooo cute, im gunna have to make myself a pair too. thank you so much for the tutorial and pattern
Thank you for this lovely pattern! I have already started the 1st glove and it is coming along nicely! I'm making the pair for my DIL for Christmas. I'm using a regular WW yarn in varigated blues. 😊 Then I will pick a color and make a pair for me!!
This was my first time trying these and I found your video VERY easy to follow. I think you did an amazing job with this tutorial. With my anxiety, I could never make one myself. I have a teen boy, so I understand completely how it goes lol And it made me giggle. I want to thank you for making this tutorial and I have subscribed to your channel and I am excited to check out more of them :)

I'm almost sad about giving them away but am sure they'll make lovely gifts. I'm making your matching scarf next (in the Victorian Rose), and I'm sure it will be spectacular. Thanks again!
They sound wonderful Terri! Have fun making your scarf.😃🥰
Oh I love them. Thank you! I found you from Pinterest and now I have subscribed.
Thank you so much Christina🤗🧶
Lovely pattern and the video was easy enough to understand even for an adventurous beginner. I’ve made my first mitt stopping and starting the video as I worked along with you. Thank you!

This is an absolutely fantastic tutorial! I had no problems following along thank you!
I am so pleased to hear that Tasha!🧶😃
Thank you so much Robin!!! I am a visual learner as well and this video was fantastic. I love the way my gloves turned out!
My pleasure!
These are lovely and I made a pair to match the scarf! Thank you! I used a 4.25 hook to make them and they fit nicely.
Lol
Thank you so much! I was incredibly anxious making this video as it was my first - so glad you enjoyed it 😄
@@HookedbyRobin I really hope you make more. I would far rather listen to you than read a pattern. Lol
@@carmenmcallister5222 That's my plan! I'm getting braver with every video I make LOL 😄🤣
Thank you so much for the tutorial Robin, gorgeus gloves, I'm making 3 pairs. Bless you for sharing
You’re so welcome Maya, I’m glad you like them.😃
Thank you so much this is my first real crochet 🧶 project. This video made it so doable for a novice like me. X
You are very welcome!
I think you did a fantastic job in showing how to make these beautiful gloves I was able to follow along with no problems! thank you for sharing I love them!!!
Thank you so much Tamara, I’m so glad you love them. What colours did you go for?😃🧶
Thank you so very much.
Xx
I love these. I've made 8 pairs so far! They're going to make great Christmas presents 😄
Love it!
Thank you Vickie! 🥰🤗
What a beautiful yarn and a gorgeous pair of gloves Robin, thank you so much for sharing this tutorial.
Love how you are explaining things step by step. I followed along but made it slightly bigger and it was still too small. Would love to know how to adjust this pattern to a wider hand and how would you crochet if you wanted the thumb to also be covered half way?
Beautiful pattern and your tutorial is very clear and easy to understand. Thanks
I'm so pleased with the gift I made for a friend. Thank you so very much for sharing your expertise..❤👍❤👍❤👍
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥ for this tutorial! Now my friend have a birthday present 😊

Just finished your fingerless gloves. Love them. Great tutorial and video. Thank you

Thank you for such a beautiful pattern. I have made a pair of these for 2 of my friends and will be making myself some as well. I'm not a talented crocheter, but you made it so simple to follow that, although it took me a while, both pairs look stunning. Thank you so much. Happy Christmas x

They do make such a great present! Good idea on making yourself someone too.😃
Thanks for the tutorial :) I used a smaller hook because I like a snugger fit. The result turned out pretty good.
Thank you for this lovely pattern! I have already started the 1st glove and it is coming along nicely! I'm making the pair for my DIL for Christmas. I'm using a regular WW yarn in varigated blues. 😊 Then I will pick a color and make a pair for me!!
That sounds wonderful, what a wonderful Christmas present and very organised.😃🎄

This was my first time trying these and I found your video VERY easy to follow. I think you did an amazing job with this tutorial. With my anxiety, I could never make one myself. I have a teen boy, so I understand completely how it goes lol And it made me giggle. I want to thank you for making this tutorial and I have subscribed to your channel and I am excited to check out more of them :)
Thank you so much, it is lovely to have you here and I appreciate your kind comments on the video.😀🥰
