Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. It’s real fun entertainment and education for us who’s working our way to where you’re at. I’ve been watching all of your videos so far, and I know how much effort it takes to sit down and spend the necessary hours turning this into something that will work on TH-cam.
That means a lot for you to say that! Its fricken tough, but in the end, I really enjoy being able to go back and watch my experiences. I’m glad you enjoy them and I’ll keep making them better, I hope!
Been an aviation guy for decades and this was a very enjoyable video and a nice twist when you include the family(and some incredible weather). I'm subscribing immediately.
Will. Thanks for making another video. As a guy with a tendency to be nervous in turbulence this is cool to enjoy and be reminded that turbulence is just part of the nature of flight. “Bumpy” air is always felt to some degree as it’s the air that keeps us up and enjoying the view!
That moment the airport pops out 😌 Great video, keep them coming :) My scariest experience as a passenger was landing during a blizzard with almost no visibility. All traffic was held back so they could clear the runway of snow.
That is my favorite, especially when you just want the day to end!! Blizzard and airplanes are bad news, especially when they’re on the ground in a blizzard, four-wheel-drive doesn’t work too well!
When I was training one time me and my instructor were flying a piper warrior from Little Rock to Springfield MO. With hurricane storm chasing us and some weather in front of us. We had to fly around a cell with lighting few miles away to meet the runway. If you ask if I was nervous, my answer is no because I had to concentrate on aviating. Oh, did I forget to mention in the back row as passengers I had my dog and my wife and our first kid in her belly four month already? She told me that was the first time she really wanted to get out of an airplane. She was flight attendant for five years before we got married.
@ She does and we wish we could do more flying. That’s her way of supporting me on this. However with small kids it’s difficult. I haven’t officially finished my training but still flying quite a bit in our company E55P. We go Dallas and Austin fairly often! Totally agree, life is about experience.
I once experience moderate turbulence on the stronger side and my butt lifted off my seat and it scared the hell out of me. It was at turbulence city a.k.a Denver lol
@@willdrydenthepilot I will always keep my seat belt on no matter what. The good thing is I haven't experienced turbulence like that again, some moderate but nothing like my trip to Denver.
Hey I’ve been enjoying your vids a lot man, thanks for the great jet content! I do have a question about this one in particular: when you were planning this trip, what was your initial risk assessment given the weather forecast and what mitigations did you consider? I know the SF50 is a very capable jet; hoping to fly one soon myself. Just curious how things shook out for you?
Not in the video, I started in El Paso, got my clearance, looked at the route then shutdown to get more fuel. The weather exploded into a solid wall and it left me short of fuel to have an alternate. I wanted 90 gallons in reserve, this would have given me plenty of fuel to leave the Dallas area East. In thunderstorms area, I’m always looking at an immediate alternative, I keep eyes on nearest airport page because things can change fast!
Storms going for it, planes bumping around.....and... family is on their phones.. all im thinking about is internet on that thing must of cost a couple of grand for the trip. Unless starlink has provided a service for small private jets now.
I can’t help to think that you wish I’ll will to me or my family. That’s too bad. Watch the video and you may change your perspective. No pilot purposefully does what you suggest.
No he didn't, there was no real icing or turbulence. If it was that bad they would have all lost their there little hummus treats and no one would have posted about it. Get a TBM and get after some real weather
Does a 2 or 4 engine jet make you more equipped to fly at night? Isn’t the pilot in command the one who chooses to depart with the knowledge and experience to complete the flight safely? Do you think I would put my family in a situation where life is at risk, NO! Please consider that when you comment, a human receives what you say on the other side.
It’s clickbait at its worse Will. You can clearly see your family just relaxing, it’s a normal flight in wind and storms you make it out to be way worse than it was. You actually say your family sleep on the way down. Unfortunately I’ll not be subscribing to you anymore, it’s a shame but it’s night time flying in a mild storm nothing more no nightmare nothing. With of 12/14 come on man click bait at its finest 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ouch!! I guess my editing skills don’t portray what the flight was like for my family and I to you. I think you’re right, the title was mostly my effort to try to get TH-cam’s algorithm to pick me up, I’ve updated it😀. I’m a pilot first, creating content is hard and being successful is harder on TH-cam. Hang in there, each time I do this it’s better! And if it’s not, I learn and I make it better! Have a great day and I wish you the best!
What’s your best weather story as a pilot or passenger?
Thse air craft can hadel stuff built beter then hunn bjde. Can go bjg store scarry stiem kigh boat ysgh cars been bug nadtcstom Ned know kimits

Thank you very much! My family is my top happiness in life…put them in the Vision Jet with me, I’m happy as a pig in mud!!!
And even the added touch of going to a college football game. Now that's living the life.
agree!!! Bonus….Texas BBQ!
family goals x2
I’m so grateful to be able to do this for my family!

Turbulence sucks, it’s no fun! I just imagine that I’m on a roller coaster built in the 1970s and scream weeeeee while trying not to get whiplash!
That moment the airport pops out 😌

Thank you so much for this video! Just subscribed! ✈️ I never had the chance to become pilot due to health reasons. But I love planespotting! 🥰✈️👍🏼
And keep watching this channel lots of that here! I appreciate you taking the time to watch!

Lifetime goal for me ✅. Very grateful to have the opportunity!!!
@ you are a massive motivation for me and i cant wait to see what you got for us in the next vid
man!😁
Imagine saying your dad is a pilot and he flies you around in a private jet. That’s awesome!
My kids are awesome, they show a lot of gratitude!
Well done sir.
🙏 on to the next flight!
You need a beer !!! Well done
when I got to the hotel, it went down nice and slow!

Does she still fly with you now?!?! Those stories/experiences are what we grow from…such a fine line to learn

I fly in this condition all the time, as long as you know what you’re doing and work your radar with ATC, it’s not bad.
What type of plane do you fly?
@ I flew the Cirrus Vision a couple times (my now fun favorite) and my go to for work is the Embraer
I once experience moderate turbulence on the stronger side and my butt lifted off my seat and it scared the hell out of me.
It was at turbulence city a.k.a Denver lol
Denver is the absolute worst for this, being taken out of your seat always sucks!

@@riding4beers889seatbelt, 100% great idea…head on the ceiling = headache
My advice is to be a little more conservative with that airplane; it ain’t no airliner.
Thank you, that was a genuine way of showing care.

That’s funny! Internet is over the top expensive, I control on/off from my seat…I’d rather spend the money on fuel so it mostly sits in OFF!
So you knowingly flew your family into known severe turbulence. We’ll be watching another video about you at some point. Wow.
I can’t help to think that you wish I’ll will to me or my family. That’s too bad. Watch the video and you may change your perspective. No pilot purposefully does what you suggest.
@@willdrydenthepilotwhy didn’t you wait this out?
@@michaeljoyce2644 Look at 6:59 in the video, a freeway of non convective weather opened up and every plane south of Nebraska flew through it.
Agree…….and we will welcome him to his Pilot Debrief. What a moron.

Well said!
Agree!
So a single engine jet at night with the family with not the best weather. Hmmmmmm.

Yeah, that wasn't great as a pilot either.
Adding it to the bucket of experience!

Get over yourself mate. Jealousy is a curse

Everyone should bring something to this conversation, and what you should bring is silence
Wipe your ass already Andy. You'll feel better tomorrow.
