Just played the flute in a local production of Amahl this weekend. The tenor singing Kaspar did a loud "Eh?!" every time Amahl addressed him, and I laughed every single time without fail!
6 years ago, when I was in 8th grade, we sang in the high school Christmas concert. At the end of the concert, the high schoolers put on this opera, which we were required to watch. I remembered virtually nothing from the production aside from *"this is my box"*, which we joked about among us for years afterwards lol
I remember when I was in 8th Grade my teacher taking us to go see this performed at some local church. This was the only part I could really remember, mainly the "This is my box! This is my box!" part. I also only remember Amahl telling his mother about the star: "There is a star! And it has a tail! It's *this* long! OK, maybe *this* long?" That was 20 years ago.

Im playing Kasparr in the show. This is my first Opera ever. Ive done musical Theatre before, but never an Opera
i am auditioning for amahl in 2 days and this would be my 7th proffecional opera this year and i am only 11 years old!
