I’m in Florida. Home is where I park it. Awesome! Make your own gasket! Now I know about goat heads! Went to the beach, it was very windy, was kneeling on the ground to block the wind so my propane stove could work. Felt a sharp pain in my knee, looked for the source and it was a goat head. Man do they hurt! They stuck to my beach shoes and sneakers. Tough little buggers.
My husband is from Tucson, AZ. I'm from Eugene, OR where we live. I have fun hearing stuff like the "goat heads" from you then asking him about them. I asked him if he knew what a AZ goat head was. His response " Pain that will make you see GOD!" LOL. I took a trip to AZ last year first plain trip for me at 38 yrs old. I fell in LOVE with AZ. I hate the cold and hate the rain. Yes that is the only life I have known being from OR. We would LOVE to build a bus but with work and kids we can't see the time to do so. We are hoping for either a Class A or a 5th wheel. We like the idea of a 5th wheel due to the amount of space BUT I worry with the boon docking safety. If something was to come up in a class A or bus you just jump in the drivers seat and get out. Class A or travel trailer you have to get out to get to the drivers seat to get to safety. I love love love how awesome you two did documenting your build. A little unfair will all the cool tools you already had on hand. LOL But still so super awesome!!! Love you guys and hope you have many many more amazing adventures.
Montréal, Quebec right now and we've been living in every capital city in Canada west of here over the last 27 years. You get to know a place after a few years. Used the screen stuff to replace the screen on the screen door. Few things are as satisfying as that. They look so good on Bussy! I've been reading up on used school buses and the various configurations. Listening to some of the guys talking about them, some are made for the mountains while others for the flat prairies. It's the engine and transmission pairing that makes the difference as the steep climes of the mountains both up and down are demanding. Overheating was an issue as well as the brakes on the downward run as you use them so much. There is an engine brake which makes a big difference but that's well out of my understanding. Just something to think about. Lastly, I guessed 27,000 but you know, the camera adds ten pounds to everything. lol
Awww yes, the infamous goat heads. I live in north eastern Oregon and we have goat heads galore here. On our property the people before us took pains taking time to go around this 5 1/2 acres to take out all the goat head plants. But every once in a while we’ll see a plant start come up and it gets pulled up and take me to the burn barrel. Those things will ruin your day in a big hurry. Then we had a little plant that was called a sandbure and it started out looking like grass until the grass shoot would open up and little bures would come out of the grass shoot. Those were a lot of fun too. You get those in ya and kind a like a cactus it will puncture your skin and then the end would curl so it doesn’t come out. Peachy! Where was Mamacita? I didn’t see her.
In Florida, we call those “goat heads” sand spurs or stickers. I’m a native Floridian, currently transplanted in North Carolina. And as a construction professional I truly enjoy watching your build and the quality craftsmanship Mike demonstrated in everything he does.
Here in eastern Oklahoma we call goat heads something we left in Texas. LOL When my wife and I started out RVing we changed our way of life a lots because RVing is not static. Not everyone's life will be the same nor should it be. If you don't like something about your rig, change it. Life is simple. LOL
I’m on landlocked property in my 2006 rust free bluebird all American full length bus in Great Falls MT. Ty for giving me a way over duck taped screens to deal with bugs.
Good Job Mike & Kerry, on window screen, Ventilating waste tank, putting up towel hooks, flushing engine and making, and put on radiator casket. That's awesome, Man!!!! Awesome!!! Kerry; Good Job on filming and editing That's, That's, good Work.... Awesome!! I'm loving it. Lol.... :-) You guy's needed a long vacation
Independence, MO We so enjoy your videos. Those screens are super looking. By all means, carry a rolled up rug or cardboard to get under the bus. Those sleeping bag mats would be great as well, they roll up thin. Safe travels 🚌
I presently live in Greeley, CO. Moved from New Egypt, NJ 2.5 years ago. But I'm a long distance truck driver and travel, supposedly, all over 48 states. I haven't been in Maine, Vermont or New Hampshire since I moved west. The other 3 New England states, I've been in for the first time since moving, within the last 4 weeks. FYI, It seems the Colorado Springs area is popular with bus people. The Good News bus (the Good family on the Bus Life channel) spent an entire year in that area, in part because of the virus.
Over the Road trucker here! From Kansas City, MO...Currently in Lexington Ky....no, now in Cincinnati, OH....no no now in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa 🤷🏾♂️.....(welcome to the travel life kids!😉)
Springfield MO when we moved to Gulfport I sat down on them myself and ants in the pants is a painful experience.. I was 7 and screaming like crazy! My mom had to strip me too! I will never forget that!
Hi Kerry and Mike, I am from England, I live in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire on the North East cost. Love your videos, can't wait to see more of your travels. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Omg every video you two blow me away! That cricut hack is so smart! You should predownload all your gaskets so if you're boondocking and something happens you'll be ok. :)
Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Canada. Originally Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. Usually in the winter we are in Yuma, Arizona. Not this year though because of the border closure 🥶
Hello from Battle Creek, Michigan. I grew up in AZ, and my brother sat me on a red ant pile when I was about 2 years old. I am familar with the old strip down method your parents used.
I liked the video style and detail alot. I saw a guy added louvers to the rear side panel on a rear engine bus to send more air onto the radiator and enhance airflow
Hey guys, since its a rear engine, i know they make louvers that will face the front of the bus, and when you drive it forces more wind into engine compartment. Hope that helps.
I just cringed when Mike told the story of the red ants! Yrs ago I was stung by just 1 and the pain was excruciating for about 8 hrs. I can't even imagine being a young boy and getting stung by a bunch of them. Of course you will always remember! I love your bus you two. It's beautiful.
My grandson played by the ants when he was 2 he must have been bit over 2 dozen times and he was slightly allergic to them. Its rough when it's a little kid.
Schoolcraft, Michigan. I made a gasket from a ritz cracker box once. I traced it out and then used a small hammer to make the inside hole and cut them out.
In the midwest we call the goat heads, Sandburs and they suck. I can't tell you how many bike tires I patched because of them misserable little things.
Everything Mike does. Is always worth watching. In South Africa we call the Thorns.. Devil thorns (Little Devil's)..What ever they sting or burn like crazy.. You rock..
From Hindman, Kentucky here. I had considered buying one of those Cricut machines to make decals for my bus when I saw you use it for that. I checked on the price and decided not to. Now that I saw you make a gasket with it, I think I will get one. That was very cool.
high springs florida guys, I have been with you since you started this project, time to experience life on a different plateau. Great job and documentation
Greetings from Central Texas! Stonewall… the “goat head” Capitol of Gillespie County! God bless you two. Y’all are an inspiration to so many. So happy that you are comfortably mobile.

Hello from Southern California, Riverside, sometimes Toyooka Japan! I honestly think you guys are the best channel for how-to's when it comes to bus stuff. It's so interesting!
Cincinnati, Ohio home of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. Watched all your videos, love them all. Mike your really talented and Kerry is very charming. Stay happy and positive in all things. Troy
You’re just Working the kinks out of your vehicle. Screens that fit tightly keep the curious from getting in easily. What about trying heavy tape roller for lint to pick up the goats and other undesirable items? Brilliant job. 👍🏻👍🏻
fantastic job on the screens, not sure how well they will hold up on a moving vehicle. I built storm windows and screens for residential for 20 plus years and thats the first time I have seen them mounted on the outside, on RV's they are on the inside, but hey you never know. In my experience with plastic corners is they tend to dry rot over time and come apart, I would have used the metal inserts instead, the only difference would have been mitered corners on the screen. Happy Travels and I hope you prove me wrong on the screens.
Way to go. I'm from canada, just above idaho. Creston bc. Fridge, rv, fridges work better on propane, while away from power. 12 volt only while driving. 110, while plugged in. There are some new freezers that only use about 1 amp, that work well on solar panels.
Poor Momma Kitty and other pets getting those goatheads in their tiny paws. Nice job, Mike. WOW, I hope that fixes the o/h problem. Now you need a 3D machine. This one Skoolie family has cats and they made a cage that fits in the window but was outside the window for their cat's. I thought how cool. I live in Lenoir City, Tennessee, next door to Knoxville. Stay safe and well guys.
Mike My Dad was always prepared for any auto repairs needed on the road. He wasn't about to pay "stinkin AAA" to fix something he could do himself. He kept a large cardboard box, opened and flattened, in the trunk of our car. He called it his 'emergency creeper' lol
Ridgway, Pa. here. I have been subscribed since the day you were removing seats out of the bus. Great job on the screens. They look "road worthy". The newer style bus windows have a screen that pulls down when you lower the window. Keeps rugrats from sticking their arms out when the bus is moving.
The Stampede City here - Calgary Alberta, Canada! GENIUS idea to make that gasket on the Cricket! Save the file and you can make as many and whatever gaskets you need from now on!
We are in Northeast Ohio, working on our skoolie! We are trying to beat the cold weather. We started making screens and got annoyed because every window is a different size on our bus, so we put it on the back burner. Haha! Yours turned out great, which gives me hope.

Hello from Grapevine, Texas.
Grass burrs, commonly called "stickers", are our cursed weed of torture.
Here in eastern Oklahoma we call goat heads something we left in Texas. LOL When my wife and I started out RVing we changed our way of life a lots because RVing is not static. Not everyone's life will be the same nor should it be. If you don't like something about your rig, change it. Life is simple. LOL
Washington State..The screens look professionally done.

Northern California, make sure you put some type of water prof sealer on your screws that hold your screens. They made a big difference. Don

Stickers we used to call them when we lived in Oklahoma because they stick to everything and they hurt. 🤪
Independence, MO We so enjoy your videos. Those screens are super looking. By all means, carry a rolled up rug or cardboard to get under the bus. Those sleeping bag mats would be great as well, they roll up thin. Safe travels 🚌
BLACK WASPS! My one trip there I got to meet one of those!!! I would have requested screens before we left. LOL

The "honey dos" never end.
We're living in St. Catharines Ontario Canada.

Centralia, Washington! That's a pretty clever way to use your cricut! Mike-gyver FTW!!! I also really like the screens!
Hi Kerry and Mike, I am from England, I live in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire on the North East cost. Love your videos, can't wait to see more of your travels. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
You are right they do look factory, i would say they look like another expense you would have to pay to have them added to your awesome bus!
Omg every video you two blow me away! That cricut hack is so smart! You should predownload all your gaskets so if you're boondocking and something happens you'll be ok. :)

Make sure the air fan is operating correctly as well Mike
Cincinnati, OH. In our RV we take our shoes off in the stepwell, barefoot or socks only in the RV. It reduces the need for cleaning.
Yuba City California I enjoy your channel especially the wit and creativity both of you show.
Valley Grande, Alabama! Wahoo I’m a valley girl totally! I know it’s totally radical. Just like your Bussy. Totally awesome.

Here in Kissimee Florida, they call them " goat heads" sand spurs!!! Like them screens and mini miter box. Good job Mike and Kerry. Stay cool...
Beat me to it from one Floridian to another :)
@@ToConnect2000s, same here in South Florida. But ‘sand spurs’ or ‘sandburs’ have more than two spikes. They’re the seeds of a weed grass.

Also, bus weight guess: my truck and fully loaded horse trailer fall under 10,000 pounds, so I'm going to guess 17,000!
