I was too preoccupied with watching the animals to notice the clowns. The clowns were humans. lol Didn't mean anything to me.
I remember being below 10 years of age and thinking, those poor animals this is not how they were meant to live. I didn't like seeing the animals like that. I am a bit embarrassed to admit all through my life I have always loved animals more or equal to humans. And I've been around a while now. The vulnerable, the children and animals need our care. We are their stewards.
Humans can never be perfect. Animals do what their species intended them to do. Therefore they are pefect.
Humans who support and protect animals are better human beings for doing so. That's my take friend.

I grew up with a Spider monkey brother. I can;t even tell you how distressing this was to watch. We didn't understand at the time the harm we were inflicting not only the poor animals who were taken from their families but to the environment as well. I'm glad times and ideas have changed like they have.

I have hated for many years the use of animals in the circus. I hate hate hate hate it. I don’t have many peeves but the ones I do have are based on treatment of others. The treatment of those who can’t defend themselves is my numero uno peeve. ‘Nuff said.

The circus came to my town and people actually complained because it had no animals. It was absolutely sickening. Its a disgusting thing to do to an animal, and should be imediately banned. God bless you rescuers and continue with your work.

Yea but it makes the performers money to feed their own family. They have to survive to. The animals probably don't care or even understand they are in captivity.

Its disgusting
Professional circuses who know how to treat their animals right are NOT cruel. A handful of them actually rescue animals, and if an animal isn't capable of being trained, they release it into the wild safely. It's these ones that keep animals chained up that are horrible.
Because people still go to them.
Because humans have been cruel throughout history.

Jan Creamer and her husband Tim Phillips are truly angels. The endless work they do to save animals is remarkable! They have dedicated their lives to helping animals; primarily to freeing them from circuses and sending them to sanctuaries. My gratitude and respect for Jan and Tim is endless. They are the epitome of the word HERO.

I understand people are upset that they don’t have cable, neither do I. I think we have to remember that Animal Planet most likely helps them make the Dodo Heroes show, and they wouldn’t be able to produce that content alone. For that reason, they obviously can’t show the endings here. I know it’s hard, but as a long time subscriber of the Dodo I am happy for their big break, I won’t unsubscribe. They still give us the content we had from before Dodo Heroes.

@P L It's not people per se, it's innocent children who think animals perform naturally without even being trained. The parents don't tell the kids what happens, idk why. Perhaps to prevent traumatising the children? But what about the beautiful animals?! 😒
@Anna K its more fun than the animals that live in zoos. Not all circuses are bad to animals. Plus my kids enjoy seeing the animals work and that animals mostly seen to be having fun. We always go and ill always support the local circus when its in town.
David Simmons I agree not all circus are bad. Some animals enjoy it I’m sure. As long as they are not doing constant shows it can’t hurt them. They would love playing and doing tricks and interacting with people and the crowd etc. Some people are so judgemental and think all circus are the same.

I took my children to the circus once in my life because my mom took me when I was young. After I took the kids down to get a closer look we were appalled at how sickly they looked. Traumatizing for us all. I don't do zoos or circuses til this day. My children are all grown.

How could anyone treat a animal like this? Know matter if you think they are cute or what they have a life and it’s not ours to do with what ever we want. But just look at those beautiful eyes and the way he reached out for someone to hold him. People please let this beautiful animal live their lives.

In my relatively long life (72) I've come to a couple of conclusions about people who hunt for sport (with either pistols, rifles or bow and arrow) and people who devote their time to trying to help animals around us who need help. I am a tough as nails Nam combat veteran who served with the 1st Infantry Division in South Vietnam for two full years (1967-1968) and I mention this because when I tell you I "hate sports hunters" and I think those who enjoy killing of animals are bereft of innate compassion and won't have anyone as a friend who hunts for sport. To kill a deer or elk or moose for food, as people in Alaska do regularly, I have no problem with as this Is different from "sports hunting" like what two of President Trump's sons do but he never did. As far as this woman and her incredible love for animals. She has the great respect of this ancient warrior! StocktonRob
