I love that Conan actually tries to connect and hold the animals, the Jimmies just act scared and try to play it off
Yeah I like that he's not afraid to get involved. In an early one with a different animal guy there was some trouble with a kangaroo and Conan even stepped in and helped the young guy out. Alot better than just huddling down scared.
same! the hosts like jimmy kimmel who are just scared and don't even bother trying to connect with the animals (and sometimes are rude about them) really bug me.

Connan is the only show host I've seen actually have some passion for animals.
Passion? Nope. Just interest. If he's truly passionate he won't interrupt the animal expert trying to talk about the animals and the advocacies and issues that need to be heard.
@@drfdwf392 it's a talk show not a natural geographic documentary. He has to do his job and witty comments are said job. As well as watching the time since there are other guests waiting and they don't have all day

And they seem to have a peculiar obsession with small, grounded birds.

Mr.Heller a baby croc/gator and an adult croc/gator as well as a tarantula have been on Conan. The tarantula remained on Conan’s hand for a very long time, he petted the baby croc/gator.

Rui Arruda yeah his style is making fun of himself (life or show).
That is Conan's strength. He is always self-depreciating because it gets the laughs and makes his guests look good.
I think despite his urge to snuggle the animals, he points out that the animals are uncomfortable in the show.
If you watch his Serious Jibber Jabber videos, it almost sounds his like his self-deprecating is a preemptive defense. He talked about how because he was from New England and was a Harvard graduate, he was always worried that people in LA would think he was elitist.
Why don't they just make a show only of this. I'd pay thousands to see that!

No MQ I was first but deleted my comment because I felt bad that you commented "def first" after me and didn't wanna make you look stupid. I've had a change of heart and want to point that out.
Can you get him back on the show? Conan is really good with the animals that get brought in.
You should try to get him back on the show because it would be so much better to see him here with Conan than with pansy Jimmy kimmel.
To those making negative comments about how Conan behaves: A, he's a talk show host, arguably the best of them. He's not an educator, a naturalist, a zoologist, or a documentarian, he's an entertainer.
B, he reacts to animals better than any other talk show host, and he displays a level of interest and fascination that is lacking in programs like Kimmel or Fallon; he asks questions, handles the animals, and shows real compassion for their treatment.
C, he's on a strict time budget and again, is an entertainer. If you want to watch a show completely about animals, there are innumerable options, and I recommend watching the late, great Steve Irwin. But you go to Conan for laughs. Yes, I wish he interrupted his guest less, but for what we're here for, ie, seeing animals on a late night talk show, nobody is better than Conan. He is funny, engaging, wants to interact with the animals unlike Kimmel or Fallon, we see awesome animals, and we laugh. I advise watch a Conan animal bit, then watch some Coyote Peterson.
One thing I love about Conan is how genuinely respectful he is of the animals. He doesn't just make jokes out of them or act terrified of them.

I think our old animal friend stopped doing this show because Conan couldn't stop interrupting him when he was being serious about animal conservation. At least Dave seems to fit in here though.

What actually happened was that David Mizejewski got his own show. It's called "Pet Talk" and airs on Animal Planet on Thursdays I believe.

I know this comment was probably written before Robert Irwin started showing up a lot on Jimmy Fallon's show, but Jimmy has literally never done what you're describing. He always treats the animals with respect and only interrupts the expert if he's *really* scared.
Bjarki Kjartansson kimmel does it all the time and it’s frustrating, fallons a bit better, but Conan has been getting better if you watch all the animal episodes in order, plus he’s not afraid to joke with and hold the animals
