The idea of having a mentor that has had similar struggles is spot on. Ive struggled with addiction, anxiety, and depression from a young age and spent time in a secure mental health unit and Ive learned over the years that the real experts on mental health are people who have suffered from mental health problems. From the ground up is the way to go.

Really loving these podcasts. Really important issues being raised. So important to hear men speaking openly about mental health. It gives others permission to do the same and when we listen to other mens struggles we learn more about ourselves. Sometimes we just don't have the language we need to express ourselves.

Brilliantly said. I personally would love to see more men speaking out and about their emotions. Sadly, society has bred a "boys don't cry" mentally, which I personally feel has done more harm than good. I believe I represent a LARGE part of females when I say we don't understand why men don't discuss their emotions and how difficult it makes things for us.

The chemistry between The Two Norries and their guests are like nothing I've ever seen. You have such a knack for putting your guests at ease. I've seen guests who you can tell are very nervous at first, relax quickly in your company and soon the conversing just begins to flow. I believe it is one of the many qualities you possess which makes the show so relatable - I feel, it's so important that with the topics at hand to achieve that.
God bless you Brian. I find your outlook on nobody fathering your son but you extremely admirable. I'm delighted you have your little fella to live for. How blessed he is to have you as his dad. God love you both. It's not easy speaking out, as you have, I have such great respect for you for doing so. No doubt, you will serve as a shining example for others to speak out and know it's nothing to be ashamed of. There should never be anything we are ashamed of, it's a terrible thing to carry and will only make one ill - I speak from experience.
Another great podcast. Keep them coming lads.

Well done Brian on speaking up so well your story will help many men and especially in the world of sport who maybe suffering in silence with mental health issues, you are inspiring others to speak up themselves withyour story and are doing so much for mental health. You would be a great role model to speak on the topic of mental health in boys schools. Also you achieved so much by the age of 23 be proud of all of that and even be prouder of the way you are now being an ambassador for minding your mental health thank you Brian and what another empathetic amazing interview thank you James and Timmy incredible again xx

Lads these podcast are great your like village elders giving the young in the tribe life advice and an ear to listen it’s something we have lost the value of an that’s our elders in other society’s elders are seen as a source of guidance and experience and in the western world elders are seen as weak and to be hidden away in homes when did we lose this

Brilliant podcast again... the utmost respect to you all.... the honesty and integrity of the 3 of you is incredibly humbling.
Hugely educational and an honest realistic insight into the reality of so many peoples experiences which is still stigmatised through ignorance.
Brian is an incredible human being and I wish him nothing but happiness for life .... you so deserve it ... and respect for sharing your story to help others see that it is natural part of life to have ups and downs and there I nothing to be afraid off and help is always there .....
It’s a disgusting fact that some people disrespect fellow human beings, by the way they manage and abuse others ..... the damage is so disruptive to many lives ....
Respect also to Small Ned Connolly RIP ... he was a great legend, remember him bringing you all to games 15 kids in his Suzuki Swift ...

@@emmettmccarthy7247 my favourite Ned story , around 93/94 one Saturday afternoon I went to referee Mary’s V Bandon U13-14s Ken Hoey’s year in Kilcully ... 2 teams in identical white jerseys black shorts and black socks .... Ned got irate because he said they have red numbers and we have black so there’s no clash lol ... he would not speak to me for a month because I took a match fee lol £2.50 at the time ..... he was a genuine passionate bloke who lived for Mary’s and the team ..... so so many great soccer people in Cork ..... most are true honest people and would go out of their way to help ..... Remember that too Brian it’s unique to Cork thankfully but we are all here to help each other .... just shout out and help will find you ... stay safe

Incredible insights from Brian, and very well spoken. I am a city fan and remember you being part of the club, I remember those packed nights in Turners Cross, a really great era for the club. I remember when you went abroad too, it was great for us as fans to see another talented player being recognised. Those nights in Turners Cross really helped me through tough times, so thank you for being part of that squad. All the best going forward for you and your family, your son has a good dad in you.
