I know a lot of your viewers will care about ease of setup of Parallels vs Fusion, but to me, I want to know about differences in performance or compatibility when running games. I understand that Crossover is often preferred, and I use Crossover when I can. But a lot of people think "emulation is emulation" and it's trickier than that. Different options can have different performance implications. And emulator providers don't really do a good job putting info out about which OpenGL and/or Vulkan and/or DirectX versions and extensions they support. So every time I click a video like this, I hope I'm gonna be told whether it's worth upgrading from my Parallels 17 license to the latest vs. continuing to use Fusion, and all I get is "Parallels is easier to use!" and, to me, that's not super helpful. I want to know what's better, not what's easier or what's cheaper. (This is not a demand for you to change your content, just me telling you what would be helpful for at least some of your viewers)

But I found one big issue that is stopping me for now for subscribing to Parallels: there's a very high audio delay while I play any game. I've looked for a solution on reddit and others, I've toyed with the options, and it doesn't seem like anyone found a solution. @Andytizer Did you encounter the same issue? Would you know any solution for that?
Hey Andrew, nice to see you back. I was hoping you would do a new video on the XENIA emulator and show how to re-patch the latest canary versions , so that it can work on Apple Mac Silicon using CROSSOVER.
What satan spawn created a 1st gen Playstation version of Bloodborne? It feels like an affront to my ability to play souls like games. Which doesn't exist.
Great video. I Have been a Paralells user since version 7 and have purchased every year (originally buying the perpetual licenses, but they are pointless when they don't support new MacOS releases, so you need to purchase again anyway). I have a month left on my subscription, but I now use the free VMware Fusion Pro, which is not as slick/integrated into MacOS as Parallels but runs amazingly and was made free for personal use earlier this year. If you want the best, pay for it and go Parallels, but if you are happy with 90% of what Parallels can do, then Fusion Pro for free wins.
Has the battery life improved at all? I think I'm running Parallels 18 and the biggest issue I've had is how fast it drains my MBP battery when Parallels is running Windows, even when doing extremely light tasks with only 2 or 3 applications open and so far everything I've tried has not worked to make the battery life better. The weird thing is though, the performance when running Windows through Parallels on my MBP, even though it's limited to 4 cores and 8GB of RAM, is faster than my dedicated Windows work laptop that has an i7 13700H with 16GB of RAM when running the same tasks. Even when my dedicated work laptop is plugged in and set to 'Best Performance'.
I bought 18 pro- then by the end of the year realized I don’t use it that much, and stopped the subscription. I can’t access my windows stuff- but one of these days I’ll get the static basic version.
This has to be sponsored. Minimal upgrade, outrageous price, still no support of DX12. Now the latest VMware tools for arm64 windows already supports OpenGL, there is practically zero reason to splurge your money on parallels
@@Andytizer VMware has been very reliable and consistent for me. Compared to Parallels it even has more consistent behavior when it comes to some old games like Serious Sam. The only thing that was holding back VMware was OpenGL support. Now even that has been fixed. If there is just one thing missing it’s probably 120Hz support. But it’s free, it doesn’t limit virtual hardware config, no subscription model.
