Wow what a great preliminary competition. The staging is amazing and the camera angles are on point. A lot of beautiful contestants this year and wishing them all the best in the finals. If I have to pick a favorite, it has to be Miss Nicaragua. She is the epitome of beauty, authenticity and grace. She exudes an air of serenity, elegance, confidence and kindness. Not only is she serving an angelic face, a goddess body and a stunning catwalk, she also bears an admirable wisdom, a vibrant personality and a beaming smile that takes one's breath away. The naturalness and spontaneity that she possesses is just everything. Her leadership, initiatives and mental health advocacy have made a difference and will continue to transform the lives of many, not only people in her own community but in general. Her remarkable energy, outstanding stage presence, and captivating charisma delivered an unforgettable phenomenal performance during the prelims and national costume show. I preferred the avocado green with one shoulder bow that she wore in one of the events. That gown is for academy award and very Dior. The supper low cut at the back is so sexy and elongates her body. That design can be bumped up by adding more stone beadings. fitted for pageantry. IMHO, the cut out of this emerald green gown and the neckline looks boxy. Nevertheless it was well executed by Michelle.

Although this is elegant but it's way too simple even her hair and make up is too simple that I did not see any shine that made me mesmerized. They should've make her hair a little more interesting since she has a very short hair, should've wear more Jewels such as earrings as the shoulder was too simple. The wet look hair in swimsuit is fine but does not really matches with the gown. Still love her though coz I know deep inside she's a genuine person.

Es por eso que los francófonos de Canadá (Quebec) a pesar de hablar francés (lengua romance) NO se les considera "latinos" ni ellos mismos se perciben a sí mismos así ya que geográficamente y culturalmente son distintos. I am commenting not as a Filipino but as someone who has a nephew who is in the spectrum. And I did not know anything about them, not even their very special needs until I had my nephew. Having someone who could speak for them and spread awareness about autism is beyond empowering. Not to mention Michelle Dee too has not just one but two autistic brothers. This is why Michelle deserves the crown because this is also a fight of our brothers, sisters, and children who are in the autism spectrum. They need opportunities too, and most of all they need our understanding and respect so they too can thrive on their very own rights. To Ms. Philippines, Michelle, mabuhay ka! When I was diagnosed with ASD, it was a long winding road of frustration, patients and acceptance. There is still a lot of negative connotations and misconceptions about Autism, even in 1st world countries (believe me, I live in one). When I heard that there is a Miss Universe that advocates ASD awareness I was overjoyed! Growing up being told that you are weird, high-maintenance and more, it effects you mentally and it’s physically draining. I hope that MMD’s advocacy puts ASD Awareness in the map. No matter if she wins or not, she has already won my vote!

Wow what a great preliminary competition. The staging is amazing and the camera angles are on point. A lot of beautiful contestants this year and wishing them all the best in the finals. If I have to pick a favorite, it has to be Miss Nicaragua. She is the epitome of beauty, authenticity and grace. She exudes an air of serenity, elegance, confidence and kindness. Not only is she serving an angelic face, a goddess body and a stunning catwalk, she also bears an admirable wisdom, a vibrant personality and a beaming smile that takes one's breath away. The naturalness and spontaneity that she possesses is just everything. Her leadership, initiatives and mental health advocacy have made a difference and will continue to transform the lives of many, not only people in her own community but in general. Her remarkable energy, outstanding stage presence, and captivating charisma delivered an unforgettable phenomenal performance during the prelims and national costume show. This woman radiates joy, light, love and an endearing queenly aura that just screams Miss Universe. I preferred the avocado green with one shoulder bow that she wore in one of the events. That gown is for academy award and very Dior. The supper low cut at the back is so sexy and elongates her body. That design can be bumped up by adding more stone beadings. fitted for pageantry. IMHO, the cut out of this emerald green gown and the neckline looks boxy. Nevertheless it was well executed by Michelle.

Although this is elegant but it's way too simple even her hair and make up is too simple that I did not see any shine that made me mesmerized. They should've make her hair a little more interesting since she has a very short hair, should've wear more Jewels such as earrings as the shoulder was too simple. The wet look hair in swimsuit is fine but does not really matches with the gown. Still love her though coz I know deep inside she's a genuine person.

España, Portugal, Francia, etc... NO son latinos, hablan una lengua derivada del latín, pero a lo que se entiende por latino hoy en día, no lo son.
En los últimos años ser latino se puso de moda debido a que se empezó a ver como algo "bueno" por estadounidenses blancos (lo cual si lo pensamos es deplorable, pero esa es harina de otro costal), se volvió atractivo, sexi, exótico, algo que está bien ser... entonces desde ahí países como España han querido reclamar el titulo también basándose en que hablan español y que el español viene del latín, pero pues.,, así no funciona.
Hace 10 años, si llamabas "latino" a un español o francés por ejemplo, casi casi que se infartaban pues siempre (casi) todos han visto para abajo a Latinoamérica, pero hoy en día como ven que está siendo "way" serlo, pues ya dizque también son jajaja.

I am commenting not as a Filipino but as someone who has a nephew who is in the spectrum. And I did not know anything about them, not even their very special needs until I had my nephew. Having someone who could speak for them and spread awareness about autism is beyond empowering. Not to mention Michelle Dee too has not just one but two autistic brothers.
This is why Michelle deserves the crown because this is also a fight of our brothers, sisters, and children who are in the autism spectrum. They need opportunities too, and most of all they need our understanding and respect so they too can thrive on their very own rights.

When I was diagnosed with ASD, it was a long winding road of frustration, patients and acceptance. There is still a lot of negative connotations and misconceptions about Autism, even in 1st world countries (believe me, I live in one). When I heard that there is a Miss Universe that advocates ASD awareness I was overjoyed!
Growing up being told that you are weird, high-maintenance and more, it effects you mentally and it’s physically draining. I hope that MMD’s advocacy puts ASD Awareness in the map. No matter if she wins or not, she has already won my vote!
