We have the Joocla quick mount on the Gladiator it is a great system but lots of things to hookup but not very time consuming when you have hooked it up a few times. The hoses are stiff in the cooler temps and the quick connects don't like the cold, not happy about that but I can take a nice shower at 102 degrees and use a little over 1.5 gallons my wife will use about 3 gallons. I have the new adapter so no more D cell batteries. I would rate it 8 out of 10 compared to what other people use for showering at camp.
I’ve had the joolca hot tap for years now. One of the best purchases I’ve made in years. If your near water, as long as you have power and propane, you glean take a hot shower for potentially hours. Ive taken 30 minute showers near a creek at 105 degrees (Fahrenheit). Found out this thanksgiving that the hoses are stiff in cold weather. Hoses froze solid in 17 degree weather. But once defrosted, system worked as it has.
The Joolca system is ideal in the complete Nomad kit with their ensuite shower tent. Their tent has all the fittings to hang and mount the shower head + on/off control and the whole thing packs into their sink basin. It's amazing when spending an extended period of time outdoors, my baby boy can get warm baths which is perfect and we can wash dishes with hot water... but it's a really big kit and the BougeRV looks more minimalist.
I do t own either but I do know that the switch location on the hot tap can be connected directly to the shower head so it doesn't need to be further down the line. Or you can have it setup the way you have it so that the shower head can be above tmyou in a hmshower tent and the switch can be at chest height for ease of access to the switch kinda like at home.
Great Video with much information. I think I would prefer the Bouge with a JOOLCO HOTTUB Inflatable recirculation hot tub. Place the intake into a clean mountain stream, run water through the unit till it comes out hot, then fill the hottub with bath soap/salts, whatever, soak in the tub, then rinse with the Shower head using clean Water from water cooler bottles (maybe like Primo or Crystal Springs) that can be carried in a vehicle for drinking, dishwashing, etc.
I had the first Joolca HotTap in the U.S. and it’s been going strong for years. I used to be an affiliate with them but am no longer and I still highly recommend them.
I believe that Joolca also sells an additional hose kit so that you can run the water intake hose much further away. The magnetic mount is for putting in onto your vehicle if you are using your rig as part of your shower set up.
Just an FYI: Next time you film with your bright white Jeep as a background, you should probably adjust your exposure compensation a bit to brighten things up. With all that white in the scene, the automatic exposure in the camera darkens things up quite a bit. You look as if you are hiding in the shadows, and we can barely see the products on the table. Especially the black one.
I use a bucket so I pre heat the water with shower head it it so nobwater is wasted I spay myself down place shower head back in bucket soap up then wash off with companion aqua cube system I shower decently with 9 litres of water never shut off water while system is running as most of these units run a ally heat exchanger and will melt eventually if repeatedly done
Best way to tell if you want hot water on the trail, 1. Go take a super cold shower/wash up in the morning? Did it suck? 2. Do you want clean dishes and surfaces so you don't get food poisoning? Eat off dirty dishes for a week. live risky. 3. If 1 and 2 were no get hot water.
I've been up in the air about which one of these to get. How would you say the water pressure is compared to the hot tap. I like the all in one convenience of the smaller one but looking at the specs and seeing the quality of the hit top makes me feel like that would be the more robust and powerful system. Which one would you recommend. Are they compatible when it comes to water pressure?
@Casey250 so really the only advantage of the hottap is that I can pull from a river or lake over longer distances because they sell extra hose ? Or does is it capable of warming up even colder water then the other one? If you had to only pick one which one would it be. I've been back an forth on this for over a year. Basically I wanted something that feels like a real shower (or close to it) and being able to pull from an unlimited water source would be preferred so I don't have to carry a bunch of water with me.
I am not a fan of things like this that have their own internal battery, that you have to recharge. As soon as the battery stops holding a charge, the whole device is worthless (unless you are an experienced electronics technician and can open it up and put in new batteries). But then, the hoses on the other make it kind of a no go for me too. Maybe one could take the BougeRV one, and power the pump directly from a separate 12v source. Then the internal battery would only ever be used for igniting the flame and powering the controller. That way it would last longer, before it stopped taking a charge..
@@Casey250 the only down side to that extension is the water pump itself isn’t very strong to get water through the pump. I’ve had to suck on the other side to syphon water through the pump. Especially if the water source is below you. I’m probably going to get a second water pump to address that issue. The water pump is also great for topping off rv water tanks. Pump the water from the Jerry can to the rv without having to lift the Jerry can.
I made my own with a 5 gallons water bucket fill it up with water in the morning put it in the sun and by the afternoon it’s nice in warm cover with the lid with an RV 12 volts pump and I am done. Cost $45 dollars
You don’t need to connect the extra red hose from the joolca controller to the shower head - the controller connects directly to the head and the whole thing fits in the magnetic cradle better!!! You should’ve read the instructions first instead of throwing them away!!!! BAHAHAHA!!! 👍

The blue switch is hooked directly to the shower head. At least that’s how I’ve been using mine

Bought the Bouge for my family and got the Joolca nomad kit for the in-laws property. They’re great.

I need that hot tub from Joolca :D
@@Casey250 Also you don't need an extra water cooler for the "Cistern" water, use a Utility bucket to suck the clean water from.

Looked ok on my display, but I don't edit on a phone. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks Casey, love your reviews!!
Appreciate that!

Pressure feels the same but the hot tap is pushing more volume of water at a similar psi.

Great point!
Heat Exchanger built into your jeeps coolant system
Can you get longer intake hoses? Seems to me id almost have to park my gladiator on the waters edge for those short hoses to reach?
Joolca sells a 30 foot hose
@brianhawkins184 thank-you
Im going to need that!

Have you seen or tried the Geyser shower system? Takes alot less space than these. They have a heated and non heated version. Wish I had more space.
Not yet, but I have seen it.

That's awesome!
hook the sprayer directly to the handle....like it shows you in the instructions
What instructions?
Test the Egon system next

We do things different here :)
You had the Joolca connected the wrong way, the blue handle with the switch had to be connected to the actual shower head..!
🤦♂️
Maybe you need to set your purse down before you connect those hose's??
I knew someone else would have the experience needed to help me with this!
