When you start to add the "lah" on your English, Malay or even your Japanese sentences when you speak.
A REAL Malaysian NEVER forget the "lah".
right hand is using for all good and positive thing. prophet thought Muslim that always used right (hand/leg) even sleep on right side.
but when u enter toilet ( "dirty place") use left leg first to enter, right leg to out toilet.
I am malay and Muslim.
Using the right hand mostly related to manners [adab] with other people. Not a strict rule but it is an act to be as polite as possible.
Especially when you bump into the elderly. Using left hand is ok if you're left handed or your right hand is full. We understand.
So don't worry too much bout it. We won't look at you like you've done a horrible sin. XD

You're right about right hand to pay for stuffs. In fact, in emergency case we would just say "sorry, tangan kiri" which literally meant "sorry, left hand"...meaning we're sorry because we had to use our left hand to pay
As a non-Muslim Malaysian and a left-hander, I do everything mostly with my dominant hand, otherwise I will use both hand almost equally. So do not feel uneasy if you are using left hand and don't worry, nobody going to judge you for using left hand. Just chill lahhhhh
Its more to malay culture and islamic ethic for politeness..other race do we dont judge,.
Sometimes when people's right hand is occupied, they will use their left hand but apologize in advance for using it. They'll say something along the lines of "Maaf guna tangan kiri, tangan kanan penuh". Using the right hand just comes naturally to me and I never really noticed I was doing it until you mentioned it lol. ^_^
It's not that the left hand is dirty, it's that left hand is used for dirty tasks, like washing our asses... hahahah... right hand is for clean tasks like eating. therefore it's respectful to deal with other people i.e. paying money, receiving things using the right hand.

in regards to left and right hand when giving or receiving things, left hand are used for toilet businesses, therefore right hand is the way to go when engaging with another person.
what about for next videos, talk to us, how do you find malaysia now, after 3 yrs of living here vs when you first arrived. i mean, your perception of malaysia as a country and the people? that would be nice to know

I agree with you on the malaysia being loud. Even in the LRT some can talk sooo loud that they forget that they are not the only people in the train. Its so annoying.
you got it wrong, right and left hands are just equal. however using using right hand to give things to others is considered more cultured and proper.
here tutorial for using the power of hands
1. make the most selamba faces.
2. dont ever look at the driver.
3. put you power of hands for use .
4. only look at the driver or rider after you cross and smile + bow as thanks.
follow these tutorial to keep living while crossing the road using power of hands and remember with a power comes a great responsibility.

5:20 As a Malaysian I feel like I can say for certain that if it werent mandatory, we wouldnt abide by the guidance. I'm not speaking for everybody because I know some people will wear face mask irregardless of the rules but we are a lazy bunch. Maybe lazy isnt the right word. We are not highly motivated to do something unless 1) theres profit in it 2) emergency situation/deadline 3) theres fine/penalty involved. But we arent like those in first world countries/region like US or UK who throw hissy fit/riot because of the mask mandate (to be fair there are still some voices of discontent but very minor). We know it is for our own good so even if it causes minor inconvenience, we'd abide by it and we did. I still wear face mask to this day and I have never worn face mask prior to the pandemic (not even during influenza / bird flu / other outbreak prior to covid19).
Japanese society and Malaysian society are way different as you already know. This is a hot topic. To delve further will just cause unnecessary issues so I'll just say that Japan doesnt require a mask mandate but Malaysia does (or did since its over on May 1st) and thats OK. We whine and we grumble but in the end we put our trust in our government or more specifically our ministry of health (MOH). Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Sometimes we do have difficulties or circumstances where our right hand is not easily accessible at the time and have to use our left hand to pay or give or receive something but unconsciously we felt guilty and say "maaf, tangan kiri".

It's not quite right to say in Islam the left hand is considered unclean. It's more of an etiquette to favour the right hand instead of the left hand.

Every country have its differences regardless good or bad. The big question is if you can manage to adapt to the current location. The faster you adapt, the more comfortable you will be regardless of where you are at that time.

I have a rather interesting story regarding the traffic light. When I was living in Tokyo, I am always conscious to properly follow the lights. But then around my house, there's a few lights people just don't follow which makes feel the odd one out so a lot of the time, I would just follow them and cross anyway on red. So in a way, its the Japanese that taught me don't bother with the light 🤣.
Its a good habit to wait for the traffic light, eventhough there's no cars around. We never know when there's a Truck-kun trying to "isekai" you to the next world 😂

We use water to wash after popooo..and use left hand for that washing activity..so it is a little bit wierd and feel unrespect giving people left hand shake or eat using that hand..normally malaysian people shake hand using right hand or both hand..
Its in the kampung that is quiet except the call of prayer from the mosque 5 times a day

Haha I kinda feel jealous with the part where Japan much more quiet than Malaysia. because yes it is too loud and noisy here. too much stuff going on. thats why I prefer living in the countryside. and then about the elderly people, I do find it's amazing how Japan got lots of elderly and so many of them still work despite being like 80yo? Because here people at that age are either dead or barely can move 😅 Well I guess it got something to do with life expectancy differences with Japanese having around 85years meanwhile Malaysian only around 76years
they have more old peoples because like you said their life expectancy and one more is the trend now they have fewer children or no children.. Actually it become an issue now in Japan..
Looking positively at the Malaysian roads, it teaches you to be alert all the time or you might hurt yourself with the potholes...hahahaha

honestly, do not worry about the hand gesture, it's just a belief... nothing wrong if you use your left hand (or accidentally use it yourself), no one's gonna make a big fuss out of it except for internet warriors...
No need to worry about using left hand. It's just part of our manners to not use left hand in certain things. Besides that, it's all good such as holding phone with left hand lol
actually we reserved left hand for handle unclean task such as cleaning in toilet, doing laundry, carry something dirty. so that our right hand priority for eating, giving to others such as presnt, money, shake hand etc. so.. left hand is not unclean it just for doing dirty stuff.

Japan is really quiet. First time I went there I had the same experience you did, like something's off with my hearing. But 2 weeks in Japan was enough to shock me when I came back to Malaysia. Everywhere's so loud and I had to get used to speaking louder too; people kept saying they can't hear what I was saying.

I am a leftie, seldom use the right hand unless holding a mouse :) I actually don't find any issue using left hand. I even hold chopsticks, spoons, pens and giving/receiving items with my left hand. Maybe it's just me :D

About the left hand, yeah it is related to Islam and embedded as part of Malay culture. Not that the left hand is unclean per se, just that in the religion, the left hand is meant to handle dirtier activities like washing your butt. So, interacting with people like handing things, shaking hands, waving hi and goodbye for example is done with the right hand instead of the left hand.

I am chinese and non muslim, and most of my friends are also chinese and non muslim.
I can tell you that we don't really care about the left hand thing, most of us don't even know about it so you can rest easy.
So the people who actually care about that will mostly forgive you if you just use the Malaysian version of the Gaijin card.
