Dave, you're not just teaching ur audience about HAM radio, but demonstrating in ur ongoing videos how to manage and push through unexpected life challenges with great perseverance, persistence and determination. Thank you for all that you've done and will continue to do. 73 KJ6ER, Silicon Valley

This is by far the best explanation of what a bias tee device does and how it works that I've found!

Thank you for making this video despite the difficulties you've faced, you've cleared up a longstanding misconception of not only the component but the use of the term in circuit design.

Dave you are a fantastic teacher/Elmer!! I always learn something watching your videos. The problem is, I always find something else I “NEED” to buy, HIHI. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO FOR AMATEUR RADIO! I could watch your videos for hours (and often do)! Great to see you making videos again and you seem to be gaining ground physically. Keeping you in our prayers. Have a blessed day Dave. 73 & 75 KM4OCJ (Todd in Kentucky).

liked & Subscribed!!!!! OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have looked & looked read this & that. No one truly breaks down exactly what is going on. This video was amazing. As a total newbie it’s not easy trying to get started from scratch.

Dave, this is an excellent explanation of a not very well understood segment of ham radio. Thank you for making it easy to understand de W3DJS

I have seen these used in Satellite TV installations to power the LNB on the dish. Most commonly now, though, they are built in to the set top box.

The same principle is used for 48v DC "phantom power" for condenser microphones used in pro audio, and 5v DC bias for electret microphones commonly used in PC's, as well as ICOM radios

Presumably this circuit could be made to work the other way to ground any static build up on the antenna without interfering with RF signal.

Can I Bias-Tee be used in a situation where the antenna is used for both Tx and Rx? In your video you mention the antenna is for receive only. I'm am considering using a Bias-Tee to ground out static electricity built up in an antenna mounted onto an aircraft wing where the static electricity could damage the RF radio components.

I've got a broadcast TV antenna with a channelmaster preamp, never knew what to call the 'power injector' until now.

Bias Tea is a blend of tea that I prefer to drink over all other teas. It's a matter of personal bias, taste.

Hello Dave, Wonderful Video, It Really Cleared Up My Mind, But Can You Show Me And Others How The Biass Tee Works In The .. Lets Say SDRPlusPlus Program? Like, There Is A Option Where You Can Turn On or off That Bias Tee And A Lot of People Me Included Don`t Understand HWO That Can Work Because The Sdr gets Only 5 Volts From The COmputer, Does It Step Up To 12 Volts or Whats Hapening There?|
How An Active ANtenna Could Be Used With The RTL.SDR V3 And Without A 12 Volts With Bias Tee ON?

Hi Dave, very glad you're better! After watching your Bias Tee video I have a question please: I have an eBay active mini-whip receive antenna (Russian made copy) that work well with my shortwave receivers, but the power box portion is very casually made. It works, but would the MFJ 4117 be a better constructed unit to work with my mini-whip? The Bias Tee box appears to do the same job, but the Russian made box also has a ground post. Thanks for your thoughts and take care...

Does the bias voltage have to be excessive electrons (negative) or inadequate electrons (positive)?
At what frequency does this see a frequency and not a DC that varies? (Limbo Rock. How low can you go?) LoL
    Thanks 73 AG7MW
