I like the fact that Naofumi used his shield to protect his party members and not these 3 idiots. They won't receive any protection from him and have to defend themselves. God I love this anime.

To be fair it also looks like the lightning element attacks did 0 damage while wind element did a lot. So they basically used the wrong element for that boss.

@@Pieruh I just rewatched it recently. It didn't feel rushed what so ever. The ending was because the manga wasn't finished so it was a studio ending but one of the better one's because it actually felt like an ending unlike Fullmetal Alchemist 2003.

FMA in comparison ended it in his own good way, if you never watched FMA Brotherhood or read the manga, you couldn't expect to end better than it did.

The irony is that this anime is a good illustration of one of the Ten commandments, do not bear false witness. The damage from a false witness is the driving theme of season 1 of Shield Hero. That we could have 25 episodes revolve around that theme is more teaching on that one theme than what I ever received in Sunday School altogether.

I don't think so or else they wouldn't be like "F- our attacks aren't working." Not "Lightning isn't effective." I think the other 3 are thinking the Lightning Spell is the highest raw damage and should still work.

He can’t damage but he certainly could grapple and nock back opponents to provide openings for his allies to attack If any thing naofumi is a great example of what a tank can and should do buff allies call out attack patterns of enemies and block attacks
It doesn't work like that. All four heroes have to die in order for new ones to arrive. It's either all of the heroes, or none of them. And even if that was possible, the difficulty of the Waves increases exponentially when Heroes have perished. Add insult to injury, monsters in the world to get buffs in their strength. It would essentially be making the danger of the world worse, just to rely on three new Heroes who wouldn't survive leveling up with so many supercharged monsters around. The situation really sucks.
