Really appreciate you answering my question . I have been able to receive Airspace Authorization within the Ft Campbell Class D airspace when it has been a single site. It took a few weeks to get, which is why I attempted to requested a wide area authorization. Most of North Clarksville, TN/All of Oak Grove ,KY lies within Ft Campbell Class D airspace. There is a multiple step process of contacting different base ops groups prior to/post the flight that will be detailed in the FAA authorization. I appreciate you going into the business aspect of this process
I’m a law abiding realtor in Fargo ND and and has always been curious about drones. Passed FAA part 107 at 93% with self-study in Jan 2024, so that I can use drone footage in my youtube channel. As much as I want to defend realtors when you criticize us, you are actually right, I do know at least one who definitely flew over 100’ AGL in the 100’ grid in class D airspace, that had no idea what LAANC, METAR, TFR is, and did not know about drone registration etc.
Ft Campbell has that many zeroes because it's an air assault infantry base that uses Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters. There is also the Army 5th Special Forces Group there. Since helicopters have full use of the airspace from the ground up and traverse the area, there won't be a gradient of height limitations as with fixed-wing aircraft that only use the airspace to land and take off.
