    it's not about rock climbing, it's about puzzle solving it. It's hard and shows how much thought goes into it. Whether it is rock climbing or not, who cares. You showcase your knowledge and your strength. Nothing wrong with that

      Exactly. Solving on an artificial wall allows you to test your physical capabilities and problem solving skills in a controlled way. It's literally the same kind of thing as training for any other sport. It's weird to me that people don't get that.

    It's not a technique that would probably ever be used in a team rock setting, but it is a combination of extremely technical movements and major strength that would most definitely be used on actual rock. Not to mention that was just cool as shit.

      OP lol - That's everything for me! I broke a rib a few years back... Dropped my phone so I leaned over to grab it, & rib just snapped. I wasn't rock climbing, btw - I was sat on the couch. And totally used to crouching on the ground, very flexible. (I also fall UP stairs more than occasionally!) I'm saying that I AM VERY GOOD AT THIS. ;)

    On a more serious note, it doesn't exist on real rock because people didnt know such a move was viable. Now that we know so many cool new moves (thank you routesetters), we can create more exotic out door lines.

      ​@@Duckshoe398 I think the idea is that when choosing moves to attempt, we're more likely to find moves like this in nature, now the we know they exist and are doable. Rocks form in a lot of different ways and we just do our best to look at what exists and say "hey I could do that." Now we can do more, and try more variety of rock formations. Emil has proven here that a rock formation already existing with this move is possible.

    Why does it not exist on real rock though? Maybe no one has done it yet, doesn’t mean it can’t be done or be an efficient beta for some outdoor climb, right?

    That’s an amazing move and great use of a knee bar as long as you do it properly. Poor body/momentum control could easily dislocate/rip tendons and ligaments doing a move like that.

    Pretty neat. Plus, the break is almost guaranteed to be a spiral fracture AND an open fracture at the same time. The pain alone makes it all worthwhile.
