FrSKY hasn't posted a new LUA script for the multimodule for two years. That would probably correlate to Multimodule firmware version 1.3.3.20? I don't know how to write a LUA script or I would just do it myself. It looks pretty do-able so maybe I will eventually figure it out.. Until then though, I think will just stick with 1.3.3.20. Thanks for navigating the process!
I normally do have them apart, this is all good thou, just need to change the outputs on the radio to match the receiver. Hope you have a great week ahead. 🫡
Hi Jeff, hi I just need to change the outputs on the radio, will be interesting to see if I can still control the SAFE option. Have a great week buddy. 🫡
WhoooHooo! ... back in the hanger baby yeah! What would think about building a tiny scale (20" max) RC piper cub? I's love to watch you build something like that.🤔
Crazy people change stuff, it’s all good, I just changed the outputs on the radio when I set up a new model. I want to bind to my other one and see if SAFE works as well. Should be fun 😁. Have a great week ahead 🫡
Well I do know now 😃. It’s 50/50 at the moment for Weston, we are finishing a project in Coventry, so might come down the wire of the weekend. Will defiantly go next year thou, will book some hotel way in advance, but if I can get there for the day it would be cool. Have a great week ahead 🫡
interesting but i have a NX10 Wich has BNF Pre programmed in the NX10 for example Blade 65 models E flite 163 BNF models and FMS Hangar 9 HobbyZone misc. park zone and Seagull models but i do like your radio
Personally my hands are small for the NX7e I brought. I brought the NX7e to see if I would like the Spektrum way. I had some other people who come back to the hobby with a lot of old receivers but wanted the x20s, so it’s good for them. I want to see if it binds with my night Vapor 😊.
I would need my B cert to do anything at shows, would be fun thou. Mind you I could do a demo on how to crash 😂. You never know what the future holds, but it would be fun to fly at Weston. It’s 50/50 if I can go at the moment, but if I do I will post on my Facebook DRCH page. Hope you have a great week ahead. 🫡
Spektrum has weird channel assignments. I have the same setup and had to install a lua script to get it to work . I found the binding process easier and more reliable using DSMX-2F. If I used any of the other DSM protocols, only half my channels would work. How does a receiver only see aileron and elevator but not throttle and rudder 🤔🤷♂.
Heya Chris, did get it all to work, just in the wrong order from the radio, but it was just a matter of changing the outputs on the radio. Will be fun to see if the SAFE option works on my other Spektrum Receiver. Hope you have a great week ahead buddy. 🫡
Well I wanted to see what all the buff was about Spektrum, so I brought the NX7E, but it dose not feel good in my hands, I have small hobbit hands as people say 😂, so the radio is for someone with larger hands. So I have two spektrum receivers and other people have come back to the hobby and use the X20S, they asked if it works and it does 😎. Have a great week ahead.
Chris, thank you for this video. Looks like this will be my solution to use my old Spektrum DSM2 receivers. Only question for me now is: can I do the LUA Update and flashing it to the module with my MacMini m2? Would be a pitty if I had to buy a PC for this procedure. Also your attempts to update required multiple attemps and was a bit fast for me. I'm not familiar with drivers etc. Could you eventually publish a checklist how to do it step by step? Also I can't find this multimode module on the german FrSky distributers webpage. Do you have a link where you got yours? Does this module also work in the LBT mode, which is the European requirement? Winnie
You can use Mac, it’s on the same download page. You should be able to use the video as that’s basically all you need to do. As the LUA scripts, you would add them to your radio after. I can make a video about that. As the Multimode module, this is not sold by FrSky. I found one shop in Germany, link below. www.rc-terminal.de/IRangeX-IRX4-LITE-24GHz-Multiprotokoll-Modul-fuer-Taranis-X-LITE-4-IN-1-TX-Module If you search for iRangeX IRX4 you may find more shops. Let me know if the Video does not help and I see if I can make a post on my Facebook DRCH page. Have a great week 🫡
Hi Chris, I just received my IRX4 Lite. Took 16 days at Banggood, including a good price of less than 40€. That's more than half the price at any other vendor in Europe. Now comes the hard part for me, as I'm innocent as a virgin when it comes to flashing (probably updating) the software with my Mac (Sonoma 14.5). Do you know a detailed step-by-step guide for dummies that I can use to complete the challenge? The instructions on GitHub are completely cryptic to me (terminal, script, homebrew, etc.). I would appreciate your help or anyone else's to update the module. Thank you very much.
@@DadsRCHangar Found one at Banggood at a good price. I read through the Github instructions how to flash the module via Mac. That is extreme cryptic to me. Do you have a point by point checklist how to do that on a Mac, or do you - or anybody else - know of a video that provides in depth guidance?
Chris glad you're getting it sorted!
My little old hands no good for the NX7e, so it’s good I can still use the receivers with safe etc. Hope you have a great week ahead buddy. 🫡

sometimes you can be too close to the receiver for binding most radios say you should separate radio from receiver by at least a meter

Chris that looks pretty straight forward. TAER Jeff in LA USA

@@DadsRCHangar Chris you should be able to setup safe, others have done it.
Some great tips Chris 😀👍
Thanks Ian, you use Spektrum anyway, but you never know, you may come to the dark side 😁. Have a great week ahead. 🫡

Well I have a few builds in the Hangar including the Lysander which is huge. Why would you like to see a Piper Cub?
@@DadsRCHangar My interests are purely selfish in that I’m looking to build a miniature scale RC aircraft. Sub 250 for worry free park flying.

I'm playing with all this stuff at the moment, the Spektrum order is TAER, it drives me crazy but you seem to have a handle on it.

Ok i think with spectrum they try to keep to them selves so you can't bind with others
