- On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, a significant cleanup operation took place along Penmar Avenue in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles, involving the impounding of an unregistered van. The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, in collaboration with Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., spearheaded the effort to clear the area of vehicles associated with a local homeless encampment.
As part of the operation, the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) was present on site, providing outreach and support to the homeless individuals affected by the cleanup. This included offering essential resources to those displaced by the towing of vehicles.
The cleanup was coordinated by multiple city departments under the supervision of Councilwoman Traci Park's Housing Coordinator. This initiative reflected a robust collaboration focused on adhering to city regulations while upholding high standards of cleanliness and public hygiene.
This comprehensive effort highlights the City of Los Angeles' dedication to addressing public health and safety concerns, demonstrating a balanced approach of enforcement combined with compassion in managing the challenges associated with homelessness.

Thank You Fabian - Santa Monica Close Up for documenting this. I'm the guy wearing the Lincoln & Rose Tee Shirt at the end of the video. I live in the Penmar Park neighborhood of Venice Beach. I am one of many community members fighting to remove the RVs and Tent campers, because we are tired of them taking over the park and all the stealing, trespassing, drug dealing, toxic waste, trash, vermin, rats, cockroaches and constant noise in the neighborhood. The community wants daily enforcement. 🚔👮
Well you most likely voted for progressive socialist Karen Bass, so learn to enjoy the chaos.
What's the point, all they do is move their trash from one place to another, also police needs to check where all those bicycles come from.
Under Dictator Trumps' plan, all homeless will be imprisoned pending deportation along with literally millions of 'illegal' immigrants and most criminals. The only unknown is exactly where these people would be deported to.
All stolen, with any serial numbers removed...no way to track 'em, so in the trash they go.
I get the idea they don’t care. The number of shopping carts they throw in that trash truck is astounding. They aren’t cheap.
I was dumbfounded! Could you tie more krap to a vehicle!? Very strange.
Clark Griswald could get more than that on his vehicle.
Aunt edna?
About time!!! ENFORCE THE LAW!!!
As someone who has been a victim of bicycle theft just wondering how a homeless person has so many bikes.

Newport Beach just yesterday 3 monsters killed a 68 yr old woman tourist. In the early afternoon. They are emboldened by the government who allow this.
This looks like a nice neighborhood. These people worked hard to buy and maintain there homes. The police should address illegal parking , open drug use, littering, theft, sanitation laws, non licensed un insured vehicles, public urination and defecation, ect, ect. The LAPD is doing a good job, but tougher laws need to be passed and enforced .
They have no overnight camping laws. They are not allowed to enforce them. They only ask them to move so they can clean. Then they come back or move somewhere else. The Sacramento Co. Sheriff did a year long survey reaching out to 1000 homeless and only 2 homeless people accepted help. The remaining only would accept cash. They refused all free services…food, clothing, temporary housing…they only wanted cash. The majority of homeless are just like those 998…they don’t want to be told what to do or have any kind of responsibility. Why does it take 20 people to move a van ?
great question
Had that van been registered, the owner would be paying taxes on it and thus---he would be paying his fair share!
Lol, I'm sure that van has a long list of violations other than being unregistered.
And you know that van will not pass a smog check.

What happened to the "Hobo Code"? Remember the hobos has a handkerchief tied to the end of a stick? That was traveling ultra light.
Finally someone is doing something about it
Why & How in the hell did the van owner abandon it? Homeless people are like snails. They leave a slime/garbage trail behind them 😢
To anyone with clear thinking homeless people should not be permitted to have pets living in public spaces. It should go under the umbrella of animal abuse. Many of them use the animals as a ploy to garner sympathy for panhandling. Not all of course but many. I’ve seen them on the streets begging for money to feed their pets when we know darn well they are buying drugs. The government needs to end this abuse.
Homeless dogs are happier. They are with their pack all the time. They get plenty of exercise and socialization. Unlike you Housies that lock your dog in a skinner box all day while you go to work only to go on their 1 daily mandatory required walk.
A lot of cities have safe parking spots where they can park that POS and maybe receive some kind of support services. Now they're going to be sleeping in someone's front yard, a business's doorway, public park or the beach with no help even offered
They only moved across the street.
No jobs where do they get all the money for drugs and stuff it wouldn't be so bad if they were clean but trash everywhere and where do they relive themselves?

People should be charged with cruelty to animals being kept in these conditions, which is the same as keeping them in a run down home and those people being charged with cruelty
Thank God for the Grants Pass decision.
People that say the home less treat there animals better then most people are full of shit having worked with home less the animals are mistreated they are beaten, starved, keep in milk crates , tired to bike parts. The suffering these animals go through it unbelievable.. we once had a guy that was kidnapping cats putting the poor cats in his pile of garbage and the poor things were freezing to death.
