A bit over-torqued on the 12mm plug, missed the lower o-ring on the lower filter-cover-bolt, and didnt bleed the filter of air, using the bleed-screw located on top of the filter housing, but otherwise, very soothing viewing, as someone else mentioned.
@@edwinlim4596 Very carefully It's the screw at the top centre of the oil filter cover use an 8mm spanner to loosen it and then start the motor and using your fingers unscrew it very slowly and carefully until oil comes out You do this when you first fire it up after an oil change It's tricky because it is very easy to loosen it to much and the screw can come out and you'll get oil all over your ceiling Keep some rags on hand for any spillage and maybe slip a pan under it to catch any oil and keep a good grip on the screw with your fingers and be ready to hit the kill switch or ignition switch as I said it's tricky but you want to try to turn the screw out until it is held in by one thread Once oil flows past the screw tighten it back up and clean up the mess 😃👍
@@edwinlim4596 There is also a mesh filter in the bottom of the frame oil tank below the drain plug where the oil hose attaches and there is a mesh filter in the sump plate under the motor this screen in the sump plate is where you will find any broken pieces or metal shavings Metal shavings are most likely aluminium from the timing chain guide and will lessen and eventually disappear with use, if you see shavings chances are after a couple of oil changes you will no longer see them Get a manual
Should do it right. There is a mesh filter in the bottom of front down tube oil tank and a mesh screen in the sump plate below the engine this is where you will find any broken pieces and shavings. There is also a bleeder screw in the top of the oil filter cover to release air from the filter. Glad I'm not paying him.
Well Done but did you ever clean the filter or the strainer sitting in the bottom of the frame ❓a tips you can fill the filter house with an oilcan after filter change, then the engine will get oil immediately after restart and you don’t have to bleed the filter house for Air 👍
Very clever use of tape to control the oil draining from the forward drain plug!
This is the reason why i like this bike better than a scrambler 62. No non-sense dealer bullshiets with its service reminder reset crap!
Dude's done this before. Now I'll do my first one like I've done it before too!

How do you bleed oil filter of air?

Very carefully

It's tricky because it is very easy to loosen it to much and the screw can come out and you'll get oil all over your ceiling
Keep some rags on hand for any spillage and maybe slip a pan under it to catch any oil and keep a good grip on the screw with your fingers and be ready to hit the kill switch or ignition switch as I said it's tricky but you want to try to turn the screw out until it is held in by one thread
Once oil flows past the screw tighten it back up and clean up the mess

Nice job. I need to add an SR400 to my garage!
Should do it right.

Great video! Detailed but simple.
Where do you buy the washers?
Thanks!

Best teaching video
I noticed aluminum oxidation on the engine cover. I have the same on mine, only on that engine cover. Have you used something to take it off?
Have the same issue. You found a solution for that?
Very useful video 👍, thanks!

My US spec sr400 has 10mm drain plug on the frame.
Same with an Australian SR500
.....and the sump plug is 22mm on a 1978e

Great video. Americans could learn from this video.... stop talking and just show us how to do it. Simple!
Thank you so much

Can somebody please tell me why it has oil in its frame
Because the SR uses the frame as an oil tank.
Dry sump engine.
It also helps cool the oil
