Being a Arunachalee...I want to make it clear for viewers..we are not against development n construction of Dam..but the development should not be done over dead bodies... it's very clear to all that China is building 60000MW Dam n to counter India is building just 1/5 of capacity 11000MW Dam.. could restrict it??? it's just a propoganda to gain the support from public..other main issue is the connectivity of Road,light n development took more than 70 yrs to reach what's today.. again we might return back to stone age(affected region), because Arunachal topography is constitutes of series of mountain ranges,the development which took place is at valley which will submerged after construction of Dam of 300 MTR ht..the relocation is only possible at top of mountain,for which development took several years another 40-50 yrs least...another things is compensation scam is common n it will happen 100% ,those who got affected might not get what they deserve n the work culture of Indians n Quality of work is also very low... disaster is inevitable to downstream areas since Himalayan mountains are young mountain which fall under Earthquake zone-V ..n we are witnessing frequent earth quake at this region...so viewers know before you say anything 👍

I'm from Assam..we are already struggling with a lot of flood problems. We don't want any more.If something else happens, all the water will come here..we are already drowning, we don't want to drown any more.Only the Arunachal government knows the rest of the work, we cannot oppose it.Hope whatever decision Arunachal Government and Central Government take together will be for the welfare of all.🙌

Coming from a local from arunachal.
5 to 6 Years ago people have sacrificed their life protesting against some dam projects cause it was really harmful for the people living nearby and the nature. The migrant birds that seasonally visit the places..not to forget that arunachal is the worst performing state in india when it comes to transparency.
Feels sad because even the mainland indians will likely to not know the danger of the projects and the affairs of arunachal.
Arunachal is not like other north east states ..there is no centralized language in arunachal..manipur has manipuri ,assam assamese and so on....arunachal is way more complex shares border with three different countries...trust me people, arunachal is wayy wayy complex. More than 15 major tribs more than150 minor ones each with their own language.
Still managed to be united as one state..which does suprises me.
These projects are extremely harmful and not sustainable at all considering arunachal marshy land.Every year atleast 3 to 4 new species gets discovers in arunachal with very little sponsorship.
There is already many dams in the state...building more dam will fill the corrupt authorities unfortunately..arunachal tops in corruption..
Will my state only be treated as a frontier state..people say we complain about development and protest when gov take such steps ..people please look at arunachal.. there is a reason why arunachal is called mini india.. there is a reason why most district in arunachal is named after rivers.. if government want to take care of arunachal please look at the education thats all we demand..arunachal is the worst in northeast when it comes to education..such a shame corruption at its peak.
Those dam projects smells corruption and will surely be harmful in near future just like in himachal..those projects are unnecessary to the people living nearby considering less population in the region ,type of soil..and to me it feels like its a cheap project to controll the floods in assam that occur every year..

There are already dams in the state and we support such projects as long as if done sustainably, not harming the locals living nearby and the nature.Although there is no such thing as 100 percent sustainable development but 15 large dams ..for god sake , we don't support time ticking water bombs.

Sir, Tank u very much for making video on Siang Dam issue. I am from this particular Siang region. For sure, if Dam is constructed then many of this region area i.e. Village and paddy field, farming land will be submerge under water. We dont want any Dam🛑🛑🚫🚫🚫

Indian govt should build dam in tawang if they think building dam is strategically important then tawang is the best place to build dams many big river flows from tawang also and china keeps claiming tawang as chinese territory, building dams in tawang and evacuate people from that place will be very Good idea, why building dams only in other district. Arunachal Pradesh is considered as the Hydro-power house of India , But again big but Arunachal government is unable to provide an uninterrupted power to 50, 000 population of Itanagar/ Naharlagun. Unlimited time power cut.
Same with uttarakhand. Electricity is costly too for natives. Highlanders are now realizing they lost their ancestral lands for nothing
The dam construction is a huge concern for the locals of Arunachal Predesh not because of against development but important of environmental and livelihood matter of locals who living there since thousands of years. Myth of Chinese construction dam on this river is a propaganda of government to support the investment of lobbies who always busy in “tu chanda doo mai danda dung ga” scheme. Let’s know how we can counter China by constructing dam on border? I don’t think it is a fact view because it should be more dangerous than normal when there will be fight war with China and in reality of a war where dams and electricity supplies are main target of any war to destroy the connection of light road and other connectivities. So it will be happen same as saying in our culture “ the wound is greater than head”.
I am from the same Himalayan region of Leh Ladakh and we know better than any other people of India, about our environment and reality of ground level so I am in support of the concerns of our Arunachal brothers and sisters. Jai Bharat ✊👍👍👏👏👏
Instead of constructing the dam in Siang it should be built in Tawang because the land in tawang are more infertile compare to Siang.. So it wouldn't cause more destructable in future

Sir, it is a matter of big concern over siang dam. Before 2024 general election our CM pema khandu say "ager public nhi chahaiga tho dam nhi banega" even our present MLA also said same word to the public of our constituency. This is a dark reality of our present government & huge corruption.
Indian government should focus more on roads development instead of dam construction. I have been to Arunachal Pradesh and visited three main border area, Bhumla, Yantse river and Kentse Mani. Roads in Bhutan border area are quite well but Roads in Indo-Tibet border are terrible compared to Tibet side border roads. Tibet area and Chinese troops maintained their infrastructure very well.
Sir Central Government doesn't listen to the problems of local people of Northeast even Politicians don't speak about the problems to central Government as they want their favorite department of their choice they are buttering Higher Politicians and shaking their head's yes sir yes sir.. They never say no while implementation of any policy. In Assam due to construction of Subansiri Dam this year flood has increased than ever before.

In Dibang basin 280 mtr high dam producing 2880 megawatt is going to be built by NHPC, people have protested but manipulating the people public hearing was completed, but the problem arised when compensation was awarded, the state government intervened and wholly manipulated the bill, and when the affected people were given there was a cut of 70% , some few people rejected amd the case is still in court, if the china is building or India is building the problem are to be faced by normal people itself,

Arunachal is the largest state of the northeast yet only around 20 percent of land is liveable and those are mostly near river banks. Moreover, Arunachal falls under the seismic zone five. Thus, constructions of multiple dams not only threaten to submerged of their land but also pose serious danger if an earthquake occurs. Last year we already saw what happened in Sikkim. Arunachalees are not against development but against unethical development. Government is by forcefully constructing the dams without proper discussion with the publics.

Imagine your home is displaced, your farmland is submerged and your forefather grave are washed away and many emotion attached too. There is so many mini dam in arunachal pradesh. So i think its self sufficient. I get arunachal govt. Perspective too. Our state totally depends on central fund so they want to comeout of this dependency. But there is so many things we can give to world not just hydropower.

The simple non-technical Arunachalee people are taken for a ride. 10% of free power to the state from somany hydroelectric projects will be excess to the 15 lakh population of the Arunachal Pradesh. Ranganadi HE Project constructed by NEEPCO Ltd, commissoned in 2003 has been continuously generating 405 megawatt of power. After then nither Subansiri, nor Dibang or any small hydropower project has come up to give the people an uninterrupted electric supply to the people of the state. The Lollipop of 325 crore development CSIR fund from NHPC will never be properly utilised for the benefit of the common man. Mega Dam should never be constructed in Arunachal Pradesh which is in Seismic Zone -V, the highest earthquake vulnerable scale. Siang has large areas of paddy cultivation following the terrace type cultivation and submerging of these agriculturally favourable land will rob the people of their local products. Undoubtedly, the people will be financially rich but will have to depend upon other states for sustainability. Siang or Dihang as one may call the Yarlung Tsangpo (river) of Tibet is not Brahmaputra which forms after the confluence of water from Lohit, Dibang, Siang and Subansiri as well as Kameng (Jia-Bhareli) and scores of small rivers. Damming of Siang in the upper reaches by the proposed 60,000 Mega watt Super Dam is not feasible in Tibet. The melt of the glacier is not sufficient. The rivers in Arunachal Pradesh are fed by hundreds of mostly rain fed tributaries and blocking of flow of Yarlung Tsangpo is not turning Siang dry. How can a dam in the down stream generating one-fifth power challenge the one in Tibet? Stop fooling ! The proposed 300 m high dam in Upper Siang should be scaled down to two or more similar projects. The generating power depends upon the head or the difference of water level in the dam reservoir and the power house as well the volume of water flowing per second. I have more than two decades of experience of hydro-electric projects in NER and Bhutan. If you are interested, I can write more on it.

Arunachal Pradesh tribals livelihood, tradition, culture and believe system are directly connected with the nature and the Siang river. The dam will displace the village and people, submerged the farm and fields. Ancestral land and holy places will be no more. Why mega dam? Small hydro project should be encouraged. Otherwise the Adi tribes of Arunachal Pradesh will become refugees like chakma and hajong.
