@@James_744 if you are talking about outfits it's actually possible to buy them on the marketplace. You can't have everything for free, the game is insanely large and is basically free. Cosmetic cash shop items are really the lesser evil when talking about in-game micro transaction so complaining about them is really unproductive and make you sound like the type of player that's never content.
Honestly I think this is the highest quality guide I've seen for any game. It answered questions I already had, and questions I wouldn't have had until later. Super concise, never overwhelming. Subbed. Thanks a ton!
After my newbie experience, one other thing you should mention is to talk to everyone - especially those that show up with a question mark on your mini map.

Just the sheer fact you can even make 200 guides for this game just shows how deep a game it is. No other modern MMO competes tbh, closest thing I think is runescape.

can you explain this 10PM monster expansion that lasts for 9 hours. and you can even walk around because they one shot you? It even says you need an AP of 240 to deal with them.
I’d love to really get into this, I’ve never gotten into an mmo even ESO and I love the Elder Scrolls, but this one is amazing combat and visuals and character designs. All things I like. But I’ve started it like 4 times and never gotten more than a few hours in bc there’s just overwhelming information, items, menus and tabs and is difficult to manage especially on Xbox. The learning curve is so hard. I feel like I need a masters degree to learn everything the game has to offer. This guy having 200 videos kinda proves my point

I've tried a few different games on game pass and have found some gems. Generation Zero, State of Decay, Day Z but I was playing on ps4, plus some others. Now I'm looking for something else and maybe BDO is just what I'm looking for.

Subscribed! Started playing 2 days ago and I love it so far! I’m playing the Ninja class, because coming from ESO I figured they’d be similar play styles. However, I was extremely lost, mainly due to the fact I was receiving so many items from quests and I didn’t want to use those items, because I didn’t know how valuable they were. This video really did help, when you said “You may be asking yourself ‘What do I do in this game’ literally whatever you want to do,” it made me feel more relaxed about it. 😁
Yeah I just got it for free on steam like 2 days ago. I'm level 49 already. This game got me hooked lol. Still confused on classes tho, since I did not found a decent overview of them. Great content btw, made things much more clear XD
This is my 3rd day on BDO. Can't grind cause I work on weekdays, but I just do AFK grind my stamina for now. I'm just really trying to be productive both in work and BDO. Day 4 here, still figuring out the UI but it's getting a lot easier. One frustrating thing for me was trying to get quests to progress. I found sometimes in order to get your main line quest to complete you have to press comma and talk to the black spirit. So hopefully that help someone else not waste 30 mins to an hour trying to figure out what's going on. lol... Great game, I'm loving it so far, I think I'll be main-ing it for a long time to come. So much to do, so much to progress 👍
I played this game yesterday for half a day. I really tried enjoying this game. It feels like a lot of work and an information overload... There are so many short quests in the beginning, I keep hopping from one to the other. skipping through alot of dialogue from NPC's. There are so many items you get 'not knowing what to do with them... I played MMORPGS in the past. I felt more relaxed in those games, it felt like I could breath and feel at ease. Sword of the new world was one of them. It was all alot simpeler, less items but still I really enjoyed playing it. I enjoyed the beauty of the graphics, the music, the community, speaking with others. Enjoying the graphics and space in a game is what does it for me. The feeling I get in Skyrim for example. Black Desert is not for me. Maybe im from an older generation, im 32 now... I just can't coop with the information overload in Black Desert, its way too packed with stuff for me.

I'm a AAA game developer (Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Crysis Warhead, DOOM, etc.) I've been playing MMOs like a fiend since Ultima Online. Of all the TH-cam channels across ALL the games, I find yours to be the most useful for information, subtle details easily missed, thoroughness of presentation, and positivity. Videos like this are extremely useful even for veteran players as many of us tear off an play other MMOs we're into for a month or two and then swap to another. It's literally the only way to keep up to date! BDO is definitely in that rotation. I mention this because coming back after stints in GW2, ESO, Warframe, and even *gasp* Lineage 2 and EQ1/EQ2 the information here is absolutely priceless. The development team seems to constantly improve and add to this game and it is overwhelming to try and keep up. How you do so is amazing. Keep up the great work, the positivity, and the content, knowing that you reach a lot of players who don't have a resource at all to catch up after being away. Ive been playing BDO on and off for years and I didnt even know season characters were a thing... I swear this game really makes it impossible to fully get into without videos or reading the wiki like it's a holy scripture.
I drop in and out this game so many times due to tremedous amount of information, item gathering, quest, map, location and incetive things to do at the beginning. Like you said, you can do what ever you want. That's right there is also the problem that many of MMORPG games don't have, maybe I rather do the things that dev want me to do than got to find it myself.

Played 3 - 4 days now. Overwhelming! Too much to learn. The storage mechanics is IRRITATING! I'm an old lady and want nothing to do with PvP. I'd much rather be a Lifer. I will LOSE every time in PvP as Im not willing to suffer the grind for top PvP gear. Don't get me started on the combo system, the controller system needs an overhaul! Yeah a lot to complain about however, the game is fun to play, pretty to look at and keeps one busy.

What kept me from getting into BDO was that it seemed like fashion-wise there wasn't much progression to visually see how stronger or cooler you got unless you sank real money into the game. Did I just get the wrong impression? Because it really felt like the armours and clothing all looked pretty similar (respective of the class)

your first beginner video i've watched or guide that even mentions PVP in this game. I had no idea open PVP was a thing in this game until I hit 50 and game warned me about it other day. I was so upset to find out open PVP was a thing and my initial questions in chat was met with yep, anyone can kill you for any reason even if your just doing life skills. and people like yep yuou can loose gear levels in pvp and pvp guides control territory and will kill anyone on site making travel in some area's impossible and so on. I was like wells I actually gave BSO some money, really was enjoying it then bam i guess my BSO career it doen now since I have 0 interest in pvp, fighting other players for scraps, and losing progress. then I did some more research into this specifically looking it up on youtube and found that no, you don't lose gear on death unless you have bad karma, no you don't have pvp on seasonal servers, and so on. So a lot of my concerns have been lifted. it's just crazy no one warns new players of pvp. Your first beginner video to mention pvp and actually properly provide all the details. I think I'll sub to your channel and watch more of your content as a result, thank you for being honest. Your also first person tgo mention that pvp isn't that big of a deal as well and almost no one does it. I heard people do it to control grind spots but sounds like it's not that huge of a deal I can just likely find another spot or try a different server hopefully. my biggest concern was not being able to do quests due to pvp since not like I can go to another area to finish a quest.
You will be officially my go-to guy for BDO, just as Resonant is for Mount & Blade, ESO for The Elder Scrolls and so on. Now, even though I hate MMO's, PVP, cheaters and gankers. I got this game on Steam for $2.99, which easily covers the price for the fun I'll be having with creating characters and taking them all to level 49, as I refuse to be forced into playing PVP. PVE is fine, but Pearl Abbys removes that feature at level 50, so, no thank you. Even though I will barely scratch the surface of all this game has to offer and will only be getting lower level gear, I'll still be having fun, my way. However, when Crimson Desert releases sometime soon in 2022, I'll be putting all my games on hold and will be playing thousands of hours on that gem of a game, as it's been my most anticipated game for the past 2 years. Anyway, you are a very dedicated BDO player and have put tons of work, time and effort into all of your BDO videos and I for one, salute you and appreciate your hard work, I just subscribed to your channel as well. As someone who is brand new and only had your videos to go by I was lead down a PC path while playing on console. I had no idea that console doesnt have season servers and have been working way at getting all Naru PEN so I can upgrade. Took me a bit of time to learn that I cant.

Honestly though what ends up killing a game for me is all the inventory crap. I'm a AAA game developer (Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Crysis Warhead, DOOM, etc.) I've been playing MMOs like a fiend since Ultima Online. Of all the TH-cam channels across ALL the games, I find yours to be the most useful for information, subtle details easily missed, thoroughness of presentation, and positivity. Videos like this are extremely useful even for veteran players as many of us tear off an play other MMOs we're into for a month or two and then swap to another. It's literally the only way to keep up to date! BDO is definitely in that rotation. I mention this because coming back after stints in GW2, ESO, Warframe, and even *gasp* Lineage 2 and EQ1/EQ2 the information here is absolutely priceless. The development team seems to constantly improve and add to this game and it is overwhelming to try and keep up. How you do so is amazing. Keep up the great work, the positivity, and the content, knowing that you reach a lot of players who don't have a resource at all to catch up after being away. I drop in and out this game so many times due to tremedous amount of information, item gathering, quest, map, location and incetive things to do at the beginning. Like you said, you can do what ever you want. That's right there is also the problem that many of MMORPG games don't have, maybe I rather do the things that dev want me to do than got to find it myself.

Played 3 - 4 days now. Overwhelming! Too much to learn. The storage mechanics is IRRITATING! I'm an old lady and want nothing to do with PvP. I'd much rather be a Lifer. I will LOSE every time in PvP as Im not willing to suffer the grind for top PvP gear. Don't get me started on the combo system, the controller system needs an overhaul! Yeah a lot to complain about however, the game is fun to play, pretty to look at and keeps one busy.

What kept me from getting into BDO was that it seemed like fashion-wise there wasn't much progression to visually see how stronger or cooler you got unless you sank real money into the game. Did I just get the wrong impression? Because it really felt like the armours and clothing all looked pretty similar (respective of the class)
There's events actually giving those paid costume for free. So, it's either real money or time.
This is by far the clearest NPG for Black Desert, thank you. I can't wait to find one of your guide videos for the BDO node system which still baffles me.

your first beginner video i've watched or guide that even mentions PVP in this game. I had no idea open PVP was a thing in this game until I hit 50 and game warned me about it other day. I was so upset to find out open PVP was a thing and my initial questions in chat was met with yep, anyone can kill you for any reason even if your just doing life skills. and people like yep yuou can loose gear levels in pvp and pvp guides control territory and will kill anyone on site making travel in some area's impossible and so on. I was like wells I actually gave BSO some money, really was enjoying it then bam i guess my BSO career it doen now since I have 0 interest in pvp, fighting other players for scraps, and losing progress. then I did some more research into this specifically looking it up on youtube and found that no, you don't lose gear on death unless you have bad karma, no you don't have pvp on seasonal servers, and so on. So a lot of my concerns have been lifted. it's just crazy no one warns new players of pvp. Your first beginner video to mention pvp and actually properly provide all the details. I think I'll sub to your channel and watch more of your content as a result, thank you for being honest. Your also first person tgo mention that pvp isn't that big of a deal as well and almost no one does it. I heard people do it to control grind spots but sounds like it's not that huge of a deal I can just likely find another spot or try a different server hopefully. my biggest concern was not being able to do quests due to pvp since not like I can go to another area to finish a quest.

You will be officially my go-to guy for BDO, just as Resonant is for Mount & Blade, ESO for The Elder Scrolls and so on. Now, even though I hate MMO's, PVP, cheaters and gankers. I got this game on Steam for $2.99, which easily covers the price for the fun I'll be having with creating characters and taking them all to level 49, as I refuse to be forced into playing PVP. PVE is fine, but Pearl Abbys removes that feature at level 50, so, no thank you. Even though I will barely scratch the surface of all this game has to offer and will only be getting lower level gear, I'll still be having fun, my way. However, when Crimson Desert releases sometime soon in 2022, I'll be putting all my games on hold and will be playing thousands of hours on that gem of a game, as it's been my most anticipated game for the past 2 years. Anyway, you are a very dedicated BDO player and have put tons of work, time and effort into all of your BDO videos and I for one, salute you and appreciate your hard work, I just subscribed to your channel as well. As someone who is brand new and only had your videos to go by I was lead down a PC path while playing on console. I had no idea that console doesnt have season servers and have been working way at getting all Naru PEN so I can upgrade. Took me a bit of time to learn that I cant.
A nice guide. Most "Beginner" guides are just showing you how to progress through fast.

Honestly though what ends up killing a game for me is all the inventory crap. Once inventory fills up and I get tired of sorting it and figuring out what I can and cant get rid of without screwing myself, I usually walk away. But I am thinking about playing this.
