Agreed, even though he's butchering most of the names, including the name of the race itself. I think that's the next area of focus for professional sports commentators.
the czech comentator is of the same quality, in minimum. the english comentator has to learn how to pronounce "Pardubice", "Kaiserwalzer", and the names of the czech riders und horses. necessarily!!
This is often a problem for foreign jockeys. They come one day before to study the course and hurdles. Sometimes they get used to following home jockeys. Home jockeys and many visitors know this course by heart.
What a racetrack! What a race! Ultimate jumping test for any horse. Congratulations to this year's winner.
Great race full of drama and brilliant call by master comentater Mark Johnson

Superb commentary
That 4th jump (Taxis) is insane, makes Becher's look like an ordinary hurdle
Omg what a race!!
I am used to watch Grand Pardubice Steeplechase with the original Czech commentary from Marek Svačina, but this new experience wasn't so bad 😄
Been there walked the course fabulous atmosphere on day, on Saturday they run the St leger
Best race of the world, best horses and riders of the world.

Fully agree. One of the hardest races with the best horses/jockeys. This is way harder course than the Grand National.
@@gabrielaamin9886yes and it is raced over a longer distance too
Here after learning about Lata Brandisová.
She's certainly worth a bit of our time.
A double fence in a cross country horse race? Never seen that before!
Crazy but fun too watch.. wondering how tigeroll in his prime would of handled it...
The tiger would of loved it 🙏🏻

Or Risk Of Thunder!
I wish they have another go at The Grand national
The course they follow during this race looks so random that if I was riding there, I could well lose my way... ➡➡⬅⬅⬆⬆⬇⬇↗↗↘↘↙↙↖↖😳🤷♀♀

The horses who stay in race after losing their jockeys - they make me laugh and... cry.
The loose horse at 2.25 could have taken out the entire field!
Looks fun to watch but deadly for jocks and poor horses
in 1993 only one horse completed this race!
And also in 1920 and 1899. In 1909 nobody completed the competition.
The quality of the horses and the race have improved a lot over the years.
Quite the spectacle, but seems unnecessarily dangerous.
Having read all of Sir Dick Francis' books I have developed a strong opinion that jockeys simply can't live without it!)))

thank god said patrick
WTF did I just watch 😂
