How's the glow plugs? relay working? Even warm these like their glow, probably about 10-15sec. Saying that though if it's smoking a lot when running, hard starting & possibly a lopey idle then definitely check your timing again. The way to set the timing is by pinning it up, there's a hole behind the starter you put a 6mm drill in & it drops into a hole in the flywheel then your cam & pump have holes that line up so you can thread M6 bolts in to keep them in place & you fit the belt after it's all timed up. Then you can buy a tool that screws into the pump head to check/fine tune injection timing. Get it a tooth off on the pump it'll run smokey and hard starting. Pretty much indestructible when they're not let overheat or ran out of oil, only other thing that'll kill them is timing belt failure (it writes the head off when they go, the valves punch the cam straight up, it snaps & breaks the caps out)
Pumping the throttle doesn’t give you more fuel like a gasser, just turn the throttle up for more fuel. It’s definitely got some what of a dead hole(or really low compression). Probably the one with water in it
Have you ever used "oil eater" also what is your resurfacing set up exactly? Plate glass with sand paper taped to it? 15 years ago when enco existed I ordered a small granite surface plate for like $40. Wish I ordered a bigger one. Maybe 9x14x3. Not light 45 lbs maybe.
I'm hoping that's all it is would make for a fairly easy fix I'm not a diesel expert by any means but have been doing a lot of research on idi so I no what to get for running used motor oil for diesel but one of the idi biggest problems is getting air in the lines because of plastic injector caps for the return and a lot of the starting problems come to air in the fuel line good luck with the skid steer!!!!!!
@@jeffreymartin4890 basically if your fuel return lines have a leak every time you shut the engine off it will suck air into the line when the pressure is off it's a problem with idi diesel engines but if any diesel engin gets air in the line it makes it hard sometimes very hard to start. It may not leak diesel even if it's in the return line once it's fixed then you still have to bleed the air out basically cranking it spraying starting fluid in the intake to get it to fire once you get it running the air should be gone. Some diesel engines have a bleeder valve somewhere near the injection pump to bleed air out. I'm not a diesel mechanic most of my exsp8ia trial and error but I have never been able to afford to take anything to a shop so had to figure it out myself and I have been doing a lot of research on idi Ford trucks to use one to run wast oil thrue for diesel but unfortunately I haven't been able to put the money together yet my transmission went out on my 2010f150 2v and I had already decided to sell it so I could get a idi this year has been really rough so couldn't afford to drive the truck so almost frée fuel sounds good lol but since I have worked since January it's been rough now that I'm able to work I have to borrow my gf car different stuff like that. I do construction and had a triple aortic dicection January 31 basically February 1st when I was airlifted to uc in Cincinnati for open heart surgery so been having a hard time getting physically able to work. Well hope that helps with the diesel!!!! If I can answer any more I'll do my best!!!

Thanks for the insight! I think the valves are shot

you need to adjust your valves. That is number one.
Sounds like its getting air in the fuel line like a idi when the return lines are sucking air using starting fluid would help i think that is!!!!!!
I will investigate!

@@stevenoe6395 thanks man, I hope it’s something simple like that!

Nice! LS or Turbo K swap when the motor craps out?! lol
I was thinking SR20 and take it to race wars 🥳

@@zwad4 but honestly, k series is a great idea, my only concern is it would need to be rev’ed to spool point or it would just stall
Oh totally, I think it’d have to be N/A😔but still fun
