Sweet. Love the cabooses. Arranging a walk-through would have added so much to this vid.

Thanks! And yes, it would have, but unfortunately that caboose is being used just in freight at the moment. Perhaps one day it will be open for public excursions

Nice looking caboose. Lets hope no one tags it.

It sure is nice; and yes, I sure hope not. Luckily that doesn’t happen very often on R&N.

This was a cool chase, focusing on the caboose rather than the locomotive. Although I miss the Conrail blue, it's now a great looking caboose. I hope they repaint the other faded bay window cabooses to match. Extra nice touch of catching the NRFF going by it.

Thanks Jamie! Pretty much my exact thoughts on that paint as well, it looks great! And yes, it was actually different in how I thought about filming too with the focus being the caboose; though it all worked out pretty well.

@@PANortheasternRailfan I guess the R&N will do Caboose Hop Charter Excursions as well as Railfan excursions from Reading to Pittston!

I was never a big fan of Contrail. Anything that obliterates their past presence in the NE Railroads is OK with me.

Guess the R&N will do caboose hop excursion charters! That caboose looks shiny and spotless!

We can only hope. It’d be nice if the caboose hop trips could be run behind the 2102. Though, I imagine tickets would be rather pricey given the rare nature of the trips.

Tangent has a new run of caboose to do.

Another great video Collin! Such a unique bay window caboose and you have caught some really nice run bys of it. Your thoughtful narration on your vids is so informative too!
Gryzboski's Train Store in Moosic is offering a wicked cool Lionel O Gauge custom run of the R&N Bay Window caboose for a spring/summer release this year.
The French Fuse music intro on your vids is a sweet accompaniment to the awesome 2102 clip on the Nesquehoning wye!

I would to prefer to be painting its conrail blue theme. it would be better that way.

How did R&N come up with 92851 for the number?

    • @PANortheasternRailfan
      @PANortheasternRailfan  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Not entirely sure; my guess is it’s based off the 9200 series cabooses from the Reading Railroad

Is this a former Reading caboose? I forget what you said about that. Obviously Conrail inherited it for a while. It'll have a much better life with R&N!@@PANortheasternRailfan

@@1940limited I’m not sure what its original lineage is; if I find out though I’ll add it to the description

That'll be interesting. The style of it suggests New York Central which certainly would have become Conrail. It would be neat to find out. Most of Andy's standard coaches are former D&W. It's embossed in the trucks. I always wonder where rolling stock came from and original roads with the tracks. I understand some of R&N's tracks are originally LNE.@@PANortheasternRailfan
